This is super trippy! Thanks to the minimap, I finally found my bearings and located three miners. But damn, I don't think I can outrun the monster after it spawns, where I can barely even move through each junction. The concept is really cool though despite all of that. It reminds me of an old game called Dark Echo, where you can only echolocate things without any sight. The only thing that I guess people (and me) struggle with is that it's so hard to imagine the level layout while constantly pinging, moving extremely slowly, and making educated guesses with the help of the minimap. The curved sound wave pattern also made spotting openings and corners really difficult. But hey, I will appreciate any experimental games and I am always happy to see one done in a game jam. Well done!

Other things I like:

  • Different colours represent different sound types
  • You could sort of see the monster during the final sequence, which is really cool

Suggestions:

  • Please please please have some control introduction in these type of games, especially when it's basically pitch dark it's so hard to know if a button press is doing anything at all
  • Corridors should be a bit wider to allow more visual space for a player to notice there's a gap in the walls
  • Slows the monster drastically, or maybe makes it so that the monster is just noisy to announce itself, while the player can avoid the monster by crouch/slow walking
  • I think having the survivors locked behind a wall/door is a terrible idea, and it made me question the map quite a lot of times, adding to the already large confusion

A very cool concept and general spooky vibes, but I felt more lost than ever navigating the spaces. I didn't encounter any monster or threats and managed to find someone however. I think if the halls were a little more open it would help, but I enjoyed even just wandering around and using the sound waves to color up the space and was happy enough to find someone in the end.

This is a very cool and unique game. I thought a lot about similar mechanics before but I never actually seen in action. Love it

It took me quite some time getting used to this game mechanic, but i must say its really really cool.

i like thiiisss, i was sooo lost thoo, i wish i could see where i am on the minimap at least every 2 minutes or soo, so i can understand what direction im even going, i couldnt find any survivors or the monster :< /// other dev here, I navigated it pretty effortlessly and found all survivors but the demon bit my ass, no warning. i count it as a win in my book!!! It's a really cool test of one's spatial awareness and ability to navigate without any super clear landmarks.

Visually trippy! I couldn't find anything or tell where I was in the minimap, so it just kind of felt like I was wandering aimlessly, but I love games like these. Lots of potential!
