How does the game relate to the theme (Haunted)?
You're haunted by the actions you made while under the influence of the mold, and the fungus itself is haunting you and your apartment.
What optional themes/'powerups' were used, if any (Psychedelic and Machine)?
SPOILERS: Not only are the microscope patterns psychedelic, but you're under the influence of the psychedelic fungi that turns you into a killing machine unbeknownst to you.

Wow! The art direction for this submission was really well done! I liked how you opted to use the 2D elements but kept it really engaging as you navigate the small space you are in. Love the sound design and overall mechanics of the game. Like others, I did get a bit lost as to how to progress, so I'm sure there are parts that I missed, but well done to the team!!!!
I was in fear while turning up the room heating haha. Love the black and white photo style too. Nice.
Ha! Good to know there's some dread in the game. Cheers - it turned out to be a great art choice in hindsight. Thanks for playing!
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and art style. I did get stuck and didn't know how to progress further, but that might just be because I'm a dumbass lmao.
Aw... nah! This is more the type of game you sit in a quiet room for a while and click around. There's a walkthrough uploaded to the page if you wanted to complete it but, in any case, thank you very much for playing!
Really like the noir point and click aesthetic:DD!! would be really cool to involve a jump scare...? But I am really impressed by your biology knowledge, could definitely be a cool educational game!
Ah, jump scares! There's sort of one near the end but, personally, I'm not a fan of jump scares... my poor heart >_< Our game designer read a LOT about fungi on Wikipedia for the game, so you can thank him for the depth of the information! Thank you so much for playing!
Good work on your submission! I have a soft spot for any dim, rainy atmosphere, so I was pretty drawn in by the aesthetic. Like others i had a bit of issues figuring out how to progress, but it wasn't anything a little bit of clicking around couldn't solve. I think perhaps for a fuller version, a general checklist reading simple things like "examine how fungus reacts in x condition/tempature" might be welcome, but the tools to figure out what to do are there and do a decent job rewarding players who did experiment- which does drive home the experimental scientist angle. Figuring out what to do comes very easily and naturally once you get going, So really I think its fine as it is. Just thought I'd recommend something in case you were curious on ways to address these notes. - Cole
Thanks so much, Cole for your thoughtful comments and glad you loved the atmos! And, most of all, thanks for playing! I'll definitely pass on that feedback to our game designer. Perhaps we may continue working on this once we have a bit of a break.
Thank you for playing! We spent most of the resubmission time getting the core game finished and ironing out bugs. I think you're one of the first to play a full working version that has an ending. I wanted the player to feel like they were discovering something of their own so having a checklist didn't exactly feel right. Giving the player feedback that they've done something correct is super important though. Given more time I would love to add a more detailed cell animation/full-simulation when looking through the microscope, just so it isn't only the character describing what is happening. If you like our game, we were heavily inspired by The Children of Clay which has a similar research mechanic, so maybe give that a shot too. Cheers - Jazz
I like the suspense! I scare easily, so when the lights went off, I got goosebumps. I got stuck when I put a petridish on the microscope while the light was out. I know it's a WIP, but you guys already have the vibe nailed down!
Thank you so much for playing! I'll pass on your reactions to our game designer! He'd be chuffed, I reckon! We've uploaded a version where you technically should be able to finish the game now. When the lights go out, the game is meant to eject you back into the room from the microscope view so if you wanted to hop back into the game, feel free!
Very fun vibe!! The artstyle is beautiful and I love the theming overall. I do find myself a bit confused on how to progress though but looking at the comments, I assume its because some of the parts are unfinished? (completely understandble in a game jam setting). I'm keen to see how you guys will polish this even more post jam!
Thanks for playing and your lovely comments! Very chuffed about the art style - it's probably something I'll explore further in future works! We've put the final touches on just this morning and uploaded it so technically it is now possible to finish right until the end.
Ooohhh I will definitely have a play again later!
I'm glad I replayed it again cos that ending was really EPIC! I really wished there were more to the game though, I think a horror research game is something that I would definitely play! Great work team!!
Beautiful art! I liked learning and slowly figuring things out (typing things into books and getting a page was pretty cool) but I got stuck and couldn't find a way to progress. Is there a way to turn on the light?
I believe we have our Wiki designer still doing the polishing on this and there may not be a way to finish at the moment.
The light is technically 'on' since the room is bright, so there's no way to turn it on (it was going to be something added but then we removed it - so that's why there's a light in the scene and it's not on -_-"). Later on the lights will switch off and everything goes dark!
Got it. I didn't get to that yet, but since one probe turned out light sensitive, I was looking for a switch. Fun!
Ahhh... I'll pass that feedback onto him! Thank you for playing our game!
The art feel like the game that i will paid to play. Great work!
The artstyle is so cool!!! I love the use of realistic textures, especially in horror games. The vibes and aura are immaculate here. I did struggle with figuring out how to progress the game tho. I'd really be interested if u put out a guide/walkthrough on how to play the game after the jam!
Thank you for playing and thanks so much for the comments on the artstyle! I had a lot of fun coming up with the concept and workflow during the jam. Yeah, it's still WIP and you can't actually finish yet. But a walkthrough is a great suggestion! We'll definitely start cobbling something together post jam.
