How does the game relate to the theme (Haunted)?
The computer is acting a bit weird somehow? Maybe find out if its haunted or not? :)

What optional themes/'powerups' were used, if any (Psychedelic and Machine)?
None unfortunately. I mean technically, the computer is a machine xD

Liking the amount of games based in old PC's this jam, noice. Like how stuff like making the windows fullscreen, changing the sizes, pressing enter for "OK"etc. worked. That was neat. And the CRT-blur effect with the mouse pointer. Along with shutdown workin' to exit the game. Lotsa cool stuff, and a neat way of using a haunted machine fighting back like that for a spooky game.
Windows activation on the desktop background made me chuckle haha.
Rad stuff and awesome work.

As a big fan of 4th wall games, this experience was great!! I'm a big puzzle fan and ARG/4th Wall types of puzzles are my close second, right next to logic puzzles

Thank you for trying it out! I'm glad you enjoyed the experience!

This was so good! So many different elements worked well to create an experience that was really immersive and very unsettling. The fourth wall breaks were my favorite parts and I really enjoyed the subtle story telling of what happened to Eli and what he's become.

Thank you for giving it a go! I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the experience!

Awesome work! Unfortunately the linux version doesn't recognise text input so I wasn't able to delete or archive anything (unless that was part of the whole experience?). But very cool - the creepiness was it knowing where I was in the world :D

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for trying it out! That's a very interesting issue, it's definitely not intentional. It should've been able to recognise your text input and autocorrects it to either Keep or Delete depending on which one you choose . I don't have a Linux system, so I wasn't able to test it, which is such a bummer since that sounds like a game-breaking bug. Sorry that you weren't able to get the full experience!

Dude this was so cool and so fun! The entire presentation is so cohesive and great. Kudos for telling a complete story. I really liked the horrific modifications to the images. It's very small, but I liked that typing was just pressing any key and auto-filling.  Congrats on making a really cool game for the jam!

Thank you so much for giving it a go! I'm glad you had fun!

I wish there was a Web build. This game looks interesting. If not, could you upload a walkthrough at least?

Developer

Unfortunately, some of the game's components needs to be in Windows or Linux build to work. Web build wouldn't work. Some parts of it is also a personalised experience so a walkthrough wouldn't work unfortunately sorryyy

No worries. I'll see if I can get it to work.

I found this game to be bit horrifying. As this reminded me of the time 2004-06, i was very small.

and i used to be alone at home. when the computer would act out in between -- i would really jump out to restart it -- to keep it safe.

Great game 👏👏

Developer
