Ok I played my own run, its too hard! Esp. if you give light out I guess, I didn't even just hand it to everyone, I burnt the shit outta that tree. If there was a checkpoint thing that worked I'd love to get farther into your game! Or maybe ways to replenish your light. I noticed some more animations in my run too like the crows and and loading screen. Good work! I love the visuals and would love to see a full game!

Hey,  thx for playing, yeah the game actually too hard, we asked friends for playtest it in the last day and they were going true hell (i half the speed of the monster and stuff cause, they were on a even more hard mode, rest in peace for all the playtester we had, hope they still wanna be our friends)
i will continue to update the game and code for a fullversion after the jam, with a save and game over and all (maybe some more cinematic cause i like to do those but did not really have the time for it here)
Its the firts time a code an entier game and publishing it, i am really happy seing people play it and giving it feedbacks, i hope you like it and maybe retry when i finish to code the full game :D
(also, sorry if my english sucks, i speak french)

Excuse my sniffing in this video review. Great work yall!

Helloooo, thx for the gameplay, i apreciate it.
There is a lot of things missing like the save and game over. i will add those in a full version after the jam with some other features.
Also yeah the music is not perfect, i am not a compositor and its a old work i did long ago than i add in the end cause i did not had the time for sound effects . if you have any tips for game music i would love to hear those so i can do better :>

Music is kind of tricky when it comes to games. Personally, I have a lot of experience when it comes to making music, but very little when it comes to games. Thats one thing I have to realize when I play these games is that these are game jams and not music jams. For that reason I try my best to not be very critical of music/sound since most of the time its an afterthought, which is fine.

I had a feeling that the music was not very representative of the environment but I didnt want to comment on that because the horror genre is really difficult for composing. Just due to the fact that most of the time, a song doesnt really fit at all. Being a composer I would want to make a song for the game and not just a low drone which i thought may have applied to your scenario.

Music in games is very subjective as well as the fact that it requires context. Alot of the times if you hear game music outside of games it might not be very enjoyable to listen to but having it in the game heavily enhances the experience. Theres a good bit I could probably say about your tracks (especially if I were to be super nitpicky), but I feel it would be unfair to do so based on the fact that they werent made for the game specifically, and that if you were given more time, you would have come up with something that you would be more confident in.

Otherwise, great work. We hope you are able to play and review our game as well!

Lovely art! The game self-closes when I lose, which I don't think is intended? Wish the map were smaller or the character moved faster, as I wanted to see more of the game but it was a lot of downtime to get to the puzzles.

Sorry, seemed like my mic didn't record that session for some reason. My overall impression is that I really liked the art and characterization, just wish that I could have seen more of it. Felt like I spent a lot of time walking and restarting felt a bit punishing because of how much walking I had to do to get back to where I was. If Jack moved more quickly, it would make the navigation part of gameplay feel less frustrating and would let me focus on the more fun stuff like the puzzles!

The music also felt a little bit off in vibe, I expected something more spooky.

Great work overall! It's a cohesive and playable game with clearly a lot of work.

Hey, thx for playing our game :D
Yeah we did work a lot on the puzzle and overall mechanics and did not had time in the end to add the save/game over and some other stuff ^^'
(i will probably add this for a full version with some adjustement after the jam)
I agree the music is off, its some old songs i made some years ago i add in last minute to not make the sound feel empty (cause i had not the time for sound effect)
