Wow, impressive. Tight design, clear understanding of the subject, and great direction all around. I would not have known this was heavily AI generated without disclosure. I played into the second stage, super satisfying to get a good review from the critic. The description and marketing are excellent too, I appreciate the process explanation.

Cloud said that your playing is the best on this jam, good luck.

So clever, and wonderfully distracting, I kept playing when I should have been doing other things! Love the music, and a kitchen torch with a hungry critic is a perfect take on the torch theme. Well deserved spot near the top. I’d love your honest take on mine, AI WORMS.

What a clever take on the theme — a kitchen torch, and a critic who might "torch" you! Watching the white sugar slowly turn golden under the blue flame is so satisfying, and the spoon cracking a pale one with the "TOO PALE" stamp and the chef's worried face made me laugh. And thanks for the detailed AI breakdown. One note: I didn't realize I needed to move while holding to cover the whole dish — a quick hint or a color guide for "gold" would help on the first plate. If you have a minute, I'd love your thoughts on any of my entries: Torch Duck Parade (lead a growing line of ducklings), Torch Topple (knock blocks out of a torch-lit tower) or Pop Chain (one tap to set off a chain of sparks)!

Thank you so much, that’s lovely to hear! The double meaning was exactly the idea, so I’m glad Gaston landed. And the pale-crust face is one of my favourites too.

Your note is really useful. The game does say “hold to torch” and “keep it moving!”, but I can see the second one comes too late if you hold still from the start. The little colour swatch on the order ticket is meant to show the target gold, but on the very first plate it clearly doesn’t read as a guide yet. I’ve written it down for the next update: a sweeping hint on the first plate and a clearer “this is gold” cue. Thanks for pointing it out!

I’ll gladly try your entries.

Really like this one!! Easy to play, faithful to the theme, and replayability is very high!

Might be the best entry I've seen for this jam yet!

Very charming graphics and concept, it works well! I’m not sure if other similar games exist, but great job nonetheless :D

Haha love espacially the sound design! The burning process could be a bit quicker i think ;)

Developer(+1)

Haha, thank you! Glad the sound design landed, the hiss and the crackle were a big part of the fun to make. And noted on the burner: maybe a bigger, hotter torch as the next difficulty level in one of the next updates? Thanks for the inspiration! 🔥

yeah upgrading the torch from level to level would be fun!

This game really shows your professionalism and good taste.I especially liked the server’s voice acting and the subtle changes in the food as it melts.

This was cool! I really like the visuals. The color/texture changes felt really satisfying. Great use of the theme as well.

I don't have many complaints. I do think that creme brulee is the most difficult dish, so to me it would make sense for it to come later rather than first.

It doesn't overstay its welcome, and for a simple mechanic there is actually a reasonably deep level of mastery.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback. It all started with the Creme Brulee and then I added the "Flammlachs" and the Tarte. But yes, those should be as hard as the Creme or the Creme should come later 👍

Great concept, loved the voices, had not considered that use for AI!  I was not good at this, but it was also super fun!

Developer

Nice. Thank you! I will check out your game as well! And yes, 3 stars from Gaston have to be earned 😉

Great Idea, love it.

Wow what a great concept! I love it. I think it visually obviously looks like a ChatGPT game- improvements could be made to the UI, the torch itself and the bell especially. I had a problem ringing the bell after every order, like my torch was stuck in torch mode. But I really enjoyed this, it's so creative and you put a lot of work into it. I can tell there are so many little details - good voice acting as well from Elevenlabs and a good GPT visual of the chef - it all works really well. The actual game mechanic is surprisingly fun, although tedious after the 5 or so dish. Overall though I really enjoyed it, good work!

Best game that respect the theme of the jam here !
French former cook here, I was the best for roasting crème brulée, the experience is realistic and Gaston Cendre find it Delicieux

Developer

Happy to hear that, especially that the experience is realistic!
I spend some time playing Tatane. Really cool concept and fun to play. Great job.
