Yes, it was very fun! I loved working on this game and so did my friends while voicing it! If I win I promised them a slice of the winnings!

The dialogue and voice acting gave this a lot of personality. The humor reminded me of that older Adult Swim era with Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Squidbillies, and Robot Chicken.
The exaggerated voices really sold those conversations. The roughness of the performances felt like part of the joke to me, and the visual style and music suited that tone well.
I thought the first half was the strongest part of the gameplay. Working out how to get past the guards within those short possession windows gave me something to think about. There were children I wanted to possess who were already inside a guard’s detection range, so reaching them safely was a challenge.
That made the candy ability sound particularly useful when it was introduced at the halfway checkpoint. Being able to lure a child out of a guarded area seemed like a good addition to the possession mechanic.
Once I had it, though, the remaining encounters felt much easier. The guards were easier to get around, and I finished the second half without using the candy lure or trick-or-treating at a house. Even the final collection objective was straightforward. I moved the children back in stages around the possession cooldowns, and that was enough to complete it.
I’d like to see the encounters after that checkpoint give the candy ability more of a role. For example, placing a child inside a guarded area just after the conversation would give me an immediate reason to lure them somewhere safer. Later encounters could then build on combining that lure with the limited possession time.
The first half had me paying attention to positions and timing, and I wanted that challenge to develop alongside the new abilities. The characters and conversations kept me entertained through the ending, but the later level design was where the experience lost some momentum for me.
This was such a charming entry! The hand-drawn art is full of personality, and the voice acting was so good. I really enjoyed the sounds and music too, they matched the spooky but playful vibe perfectly. It made me smile the whole way through. Congrats to you and your friends!
The ghost’s opening dialogue made me smile, and the hand-drawn characters have lots of personality! A quick retry after getting caught, without replaying the intro, would make trying again smoother. If you get a chance, we’d love your honest thoughts on A Borrowed Shadow too!
Super enjoyable! Short, sweet, super funny. Awesome voice acting. I laughed and was amused multiple times but the faces and the final ghost dying were the best. I think the visuals were cool and everything fit nicely. My only suggestion is the make dialogue fully typed out on a second click. I'm used to visual novels and keep clicking to try to get the dialogue fully typed out and it would move on to the next even when I really wanted to ready what it was saying.
First, thank you! And I wanted to add that thing where it gets fully typed out on each click before skipping, but then it de-syncs with the voice lines and I didn’t want to motivate people to skip through
I think most games with voiceline and dialogue has it so the second click fully types out the dialogue but the voiceline just continues as normal. If you click again, it goes to the next dialogue text, and if the voiceline is ongoing, then it gets skipped. It does de-sync but in my opinion make raeding more enjoyable since while still reading the text, the voice line still plays.
Fun fact: I accidentally skipped the dialogue where the ghost teaches you how to use candy so I beat the game without placing a single candy (accidental challenge run lol). Once again, thank you for the game.
Yess! Voice acting! And pretty good one at that!
The gameplay started mid, but it got better. I thought that just dodging the Luigis would get boring after a while, especially since, because their movement was random, sometimes it got too easy if they lined up correctly. Luckily you threw in some more gameplay mechanics and that kept the gameplay fresh. Paying kids as a toll is a bit weird though. Just saying.
The music was good, and the voice acting was perfect. No notes here. I guess other jammers should take notes to improve their game by getting some friends to do some voice work.
The graphics- a bit of mixed bag. The square ghosts were ok, the square children, less so. The faces in the dialogue scenes, absolutely funny!
Over all- I had fun! Maybe a bit of balancing would help (then again, I finished the game, so not a huge problem). Voice acting and humor sets it apart from the others. I expect a high place in the jam rankings for this one :)
Thank you. I wanted there to be a good final challenge, and I found that trying to gather multiple children in one spot was exceptionally challenging. I just didnt know how to make it make sense, so I kinda just made the last NPC really annoying to cover it up lol. Also, my friends had a lot of fun voice acting too! I'm glad you liked it because that's where most of the effort was poured into.
This was awesome! I had so much fun, and for the first 3-4 tries i died a lot because i couldnt see the detection radius of the ghost hunters. But lucky that i decided to play it through! The halloween and theme interpretation of this is spot on! The story and dialogues are great and bonus points for the voice acting :D The gameplay is also quite fun and challenging at times. I loved the art, even though it is rough, its charming and communicates really well all the elements that need to be communicated. I like how the recurring characters keep coming and giving you some upgrades, thats a neat way to keep things interesting.
Great job on this, well done to all!
This was very cute!
Took me a few tries to finish it but definitely worth it, you successfully put in a good story in a short game. Nice work!
Too hard..... Funny voice, Great game
I hope you guys have fun (:
