Design Statement
We heard the theme track as a song that someone has lost and wants back. In The Dawn in Tune the sun has forgotten its song, so morning never comes, and a child carries a small light through three short chapters to bring it home. The track itself is the reward: it plays on the main menu and returns at the ending, when the child's room finally gets its dawn.

Key design choices: no enemies and no timers, so the pace stays calm and anyone can finish in 15-25 minutes. Each chapter teaches one new move (jet, slide, glide) with a handwritten note instead of a tutorial screen. The music and the window light warm up as you clear chapters, so progress is something you hear and see back in the child's room. A 2.5D side view keeps the controls simple while the floating stations give the space depth.

Game Instructions (launch steps, controls, and gameplay overview)
Launch: unzip TheDawnInTune_Windows_1108_chars_v7.zip and run HearSunshine.exe (Windows 10/11, 64-bit, DirectX 12 GPU).

Controls (keyboard): A/D move. Space jump (press again in the air: double jump). Shift jet/dash (hold W A S D to aim). W/S up and down in zero gravity. Hold E: glide while falling. S or Ctrl: slide (Chapter 2). Jump at a wall, then Space: wall jump. F: interact (consoles, lifts, the poster). R: return to safe spot. F5 save spot, F9 load. H: how to play. Tab: notebook (pause), A/D to turn pages.

Gameplay: start in the child's room and touch the poster on the wall to enter the dream. Cross three short chapters (the stardust harbour, the light road, the lamps) and carry the light back to wake the sun. No enemies, no timers; about 15-25 minutes.

Thank you so much for playing my game and for your kind words about the art style and platforming! I’m really glad you enjoyed those aspects of the game.

I also really appreciate you pointing out the movement issue. You’re right, it seems that the movement was tied to the character’s coordinates rather than the camera, which is something I overlooked during development.

I have to admit that I didn’t put enough effort into playtesting, and I also didn’t do a good enough job of guiding players or making certain mechanics clear and intuitive. That’s definitely something I need to improve on.

Your feedback is really valuable to me, and I’ll keep these issues in mind as I continue improving the game. Thanks again for taking the time to play and share your thoughts!
