Glad to help! Just one note -- you can delete any rows that say "Betrayal" (that's a leftover from my own sheet lol)

Thank you! I just might do that then.

Hey everyone!

Hope this is okay to share! It's a planning sheet for keeping track of the theming and design the different aspects of the game. Keep in mind that the SRD gives some ranges (like "2-3 tricky locations") so these are just suggestions.

EDIT: Now uploaded as a downloadable file!

Thank you so much! I'll definitely reach out as I get more into the weeds, but getting to play the existing games has been a great help alongside the SRD.

This'll be an exciting jam! Can't wait to see everyone's work.

Glad to be in that company, lol!

The thought I had is that it's to spare others, but I've been thinking a lot about what the victory (and the failure) should actually look like. And I'm also toying with how I might adapt some ideas that aren't so heroic. For example, you have your Allies, but they may not share that goal, so depending on how things shake out there could very well be some trade off that gets you closer to your goal or more innately powerful by abandoning your Allies. But it's all for the sake of saving others from your fate, right?

Lots to consider with the design space, and I'm getting more comfortable with the system so I'm hoping I can pull off some interesting things!

Hellooooo all, I'm Aug!

I most love solo games that strike a balance between building a narrative and some simple mechanics, especially when I get to have fun with the characters or setting. I'm willing to try any kind of setting/aesthetic but I do tend to gravitate toward fantasy stuff.

For this Jam, I've brainstormed a lot of ideas mostly inspired by a *very* old setting of mine. But I'm still wrangling how well they and the system actually mesh together, what my real themes and meanings are, how to tailor the mechanics, etc. Still, I'm very excited to work with the opportunities the system offers.

...The downside of this is that now I'm attached to every idea. So it goes. I'll figure out something! What's taking the most shape in my head is, in short: you've succumbed to a curse and been confined to a haunted forest, and while fending for yourself against the Outsiders you're also hoping to close off the forest for good.

That does help make sense. Thank you!

Really interested in this system! It feels very fresh.

I am having a bit of trouble understanding one part though:
> Certain locations, including the Starting Point, must aid the player in attaining higher Power Levels or higher numbered dice. This is accomplished using the Outsiders' two primary traits. Most locations should raise one or both by 1-3 points.

My interpretation so far is that you have two Power Levels, corresponding to the Primary Traits of Outsiders, and when Outsiders reach Locations, the Locations they go to will increase the Power Level/die size (depending on the Location's traits).

Am I totally off the mark?

And if I'm right, is that a permanent increase, or only while Outsiders are in those rooms?

So excited to try the new settings.

I've actually been wondering: is it alright for people to publish fan-made setting prompts? Not including all of the game's rules of course.

Enjoyed reading this SRD and really interested in seeing a Chapters game!

For Story Pressures, are the keywords themselves the prompts presented to the players? It's my understanding that you should provide examples, but you leave the actual decision of what's revealed, what's challenged, etc. up to the player. Is that right?

Great interpretation of the Jam theme and unlike anything I've personally seen. Seems super fun and the tables look so nice.

Really interesting and clear mechanics. Love the very creative Oracle tables!

This seems super cool. Is there a download for this?

The premise and writing in this are both absolutely hilarious and exciting. The gameplay reads super solid and I LOVE the mechanics. Would love to play this with a friend sometime.
