Yeah, I could figure it out without instructions. I got stuck on level 9 though.

I’ve been playing the basic mode so far.

A full version would be cool. I think it’d need more variety of plants, especially as it gets harder, so the later levels don’t feel the same.

Not sure honestly, maybe a bit like tic-tac-toe? Hard to compare it to something exact.

Small update for anyone still checking this thread - I just pushed v0.28 and it’s a pretty big one.

Each siege week now has its own boss, there’s a short story at the start and at the end, and I added 3 new defenses (rapid bolter, cannon and tesla coil). Buildings and defenses also change how they look when you upgrade them, which took me way longer than I expected lol

Would really appreciate if someone could give it another try. Mostly I want to know if it’s clear what to do at the start, if the first couple of weeks feel too hard or too easy, and if any heroes feel useless.

And if you drop your game here I’ll play it and leave feedback too.

The textures look really cute, and I love the calm, cozy vibe of the game overall — it’s very relaxing to be in. To be honest though, I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to do in terms of gameplay. Maybe a short hint or tutorial at the start could help new players get into it? Really nice work on the atmosphere!

Hi! I'm a solo dev and Pixel Bastion is my first released game. It's a free pixel-art wall-defense strategy that runs in the browser (desktop and mobile): you spend a week hiring heroes, building your city and raiding the dungeon, then on Sunday the siege hits your wall.

I'd really appreciate honest feedback on a few things:

1. Onboarding — was it clear what to do in the first few days, or did you feel lost?

2. Difficulty — how far did you get, and did the first siege feel too easy or too hard?

3. Heroes — which hero or synergy felt strongest or weakest?

4. Anything that felt confusing, slow or buggy (please mention your browser/device).

Even a short "I quit at X because Y" helps a lot. If you have a game of your own, leave the link and I'll play it and give feedback back!

I like the idea of this game, but the number of items I can place is sad, I’d like to see a greater variety.

Hi everyone! I just released Pixel Bastion — a free pixel-art wall-defense strategy you can play right in your browser (desktop and mobile).

Every week you prepare: hire heroes in the tavern, place them and your ballistas, catapults and boiling-oil cauldrons on a two-tier wall, grow your city and raid the dungeon for loot. On Sunday the siege begins — slimes, goblins, ogres, bombers and the Slime King himself storm your wall. - 14 hero classes with abilities and synergies - City building, item forge and dungeon runs with bosses - Day/night, weather and random daily events - Daily Challenge, 20 achievements, 6 languages

I'd love to hear your feedback — which hero did you like most, and how far did you survive?
