We're so glad to see you're excited! Good luck!!!

Hi, you most likely can't upload that game to itch, so that won't work out.

Thank you for sharing!!

yes you can! also you can always make them look intentionally ugly lol :)

Hi, other host here

You can submit this game so long as you tweak it to fit the theme and "bad design" requirement.

This may be a bit more work but if you're just using your created game as a base then it can work.

Good luck!

That sounds creative; it's fine by us!

the table top game sounds super interesting!

This may take a little more work, but if you could maybe record gameplay footage and put the link somewhere in your submission, this may make it easier for voters to see.

Otherwise you can just include a description of the game.

< 3 check it out!!! < 3

Yes, tabletop games are fine to submit; we mention any engine or tool is allowed. My only concern is I can't guarantee we can provide feedback or if someone will be able to print out and play the game but since you are okay with that, it should be fine.

Yes, any engine or tool is welcome as long as it is possible to submit it on itch.io. I believe PowerPoint games are submittable so they should be fine.

Yes, the more submissions there are, the more games there are to play! Just make sure all of your games fit the concept (a "bad" game) as well as the theme (will be released soon). We're excited to see what art styles you come up with.

Great question. I think I gave a similar response to this type of question in a different reply! Check that out, and if you have further questions, let me know!

For both of your responses, the team did have this conversation on how to extend to non U.S. participants. While we do have some platforms in mind, we most likely will give a gift card that can be universally applicable. Example: Steam Gift Card, Roblox gift card, etc. Though, I will see what I can do with the team!

When the theme comes out, it should help in the direction to take. What I can say is that the creator should know how often certain aspects occur. For example, if I were to make a completely "misery bad" game that's essentially unplayable and a blank screen that does nothing but glitches, it detaches from the "game" aspect and moves more toward the boring aspect. However, the same applies if "fun bad" is stretched so far that it becomes too fun and voters don't see the intentional bad aspects.

Essentially, you have to find a middle ground. A game can be bad, but the intention to make it bad is clear. But it is still also beginner-friendly, so we definitely don't expect the most complex "worse" game you can think of.

We want to see how someone can effectively take so many "worse" elements that it becomes playable.

Good luck on the rest< 3

To add to this, we recently updated it with the Discord link.

Also, we will stick with the Amazon gift card, as it is more universally useful; Steam gift cards can be bought with it.

Hi, information regarding the Discord server and prizes will be posted soon today!

Heyy guys! I'm hosting an itch.io game jam that's looking for your guys' absolute WORST ideas / games ever. I'm talking ear-exploding soundtracks, the ugliest sprites, or just random stuff that sticks out in the worst way possible. Check it out or join if that's something you're interested in!

It starts October 14th and goes until the 26th. It also has $300 in cash prizes, distributed to the top 3 winners!! We will announce the theme when the jam starts. For now, here is the link: /jam/your-worst-ideas

Let me know if you guys have any questions about it.
