Yeah, it's expected to get stuck or die in Dizzy-like games in the beginning. I was thinking about making it easier so one cannot mess up but then told myself... no! you must learn! ;D but after the tree there is only one location you can die if you don't have the right thing to use. Originally it had 32 rooms, then 30 rooms but the 14 days, well, 14 minutes (which translates to 84 moves) were super tight to finish and I wanted to keep the "14" reference to the deadline (in both game and jam's two weeks), so I lowered it to 24 rooms (removed some hallway rooms) to give you some moves left, like on a second or third run you can definitely finish it in time. Right now I am working on improving character animations and graphics, so the rooms are less empty and hollow. But I will update it only after the end of voting, obviously.

Voted, favorably, yesterday already, but noticed I haven't posted a comment so... I like it, got to 7th level. It's quite addictive ;) . Animations of assembling and disassembling ala teleport in Star Trek are cool. As well as the sounds , especially the thud sound of the wall bounce is almost haptic and it really feels like hitting a wall or something.
Try it now, please. The updated version with preventDefault() on keydowns for space, enter, etc. has just been uploaded (with permission from the Game Jam host Paweł). On my Windows laptop it catches space and enter correctly in game when you click/tap on the game's "Run game" button and the game is active.
It's not fair! There should be an option to select which league CPU you want to play. Like I could maybe win with the 3rd or 4th league but not with this high level of "thinking". Kids will hate it! But seriously, after some menu with difficulty option settings and perhaps two player mode on tablet/computer and even phones) this could go straight to Poki's homepage. Bravo!
Thanks for your nice comment and the UX feedback. It's probably related to /t/902383/option-to-prevent-keyboard-page-scrolling-for-embedded-... I am not sure if I can upload a new version during voting (will ask on Discord) but as a temporary fix try pressing E instead of Space/Enter (or going to Fullscreen and then ending fullscreen) or try the Wavedash version (link in game description).
I like puzzle/sokoban games and liked the idea of keeping other fires burning for the next step. I got to... this is an issue, I don't know where I am at at which level ;). Some number next to the arrow or on the right would be great. And perhaps a menu button if you guys will work on it further, so one can toggle on/off the sound without muting the browser tab. But looking at 31 minutes, 21 seconds before the deadline, this is probably in your todo list. I truly think it has a potential. Would play it again if it had some interesting (or unconventional/weird) storyline in the full version. Thumbs up.
I've tried to play it multiple times but it's not easy to understand what is going on. Perhaps some intro or example would be great in the next version? I would work on better menu. Also at one point I clicked on the "Back" and then selected there was a black screen after selecting No - the music keeps playing but the screen is black and I can't do anything. Then I tried it again later on and it worked. But I can imagine an improved version to be nice - especially on mobile devices.
