Thanks for the response ! I was thinking I might have to try this, just wanted to see if it was supported.

While working on my current long term game project, I realized that I set out to make a character creation template to allow me to easily create new enemies for my game without having to continuously copy and paste code and where I can make changes to behaviours that are automatically applied to any enemy scripts extending from my abstract classes. I have compiled everything together in a project template that I hope will be useful to anyone who wants to speed up their game development process or build off of a template.
This is version 1.0 of this asset and have plans to continue adding more features in the future and hopefully build it into a very useful community tool for anyone to use in their Godot projects. It is available here: https://noel-k.itch.io/platform-character-creator-template

This asset will only work with Godot version's 4.5 and above. The template project itself is available starting with version 4.7.1, however, the abstract classes themselves can be copied over to a lower version so long as it is post 4.5 as this is the earliest version of Godot that supports abstraction.
The template file is super simple and easy to configure. Getting a character to move on screen requires no coding at all !

Apologies for the long description, but ever since the start of this project, I have been struggling to define what it even is. The project, already more than 9 months into development is coming along nicely. I've written a couple of devlogs already, but I think from here on out, I may continue to update this post more frequently as I want to take my time with a well written devlog that tries to be engaging and informative at the same time. Right now, while I do have a demo available, it's of an outdated version of the project and I'd like to continue with letting people try out the dev snapshot that I set up and from there start putting together another demo.

Hi I am looking for someone with some level design experience to make about 10 or so levels for my game. It's for a 2D side-scrolling game with shooting and combat mechanics. Currently, I have only about 1 level made and I need help finishing the rest of the levels. If it sounds interesting, share a copy of your work. If you have any questions, I'd be more than happy to share more details
The best thing that I can say right now, is that the main character is the player. The protagonist, wouldn't be silent necessarily, but almost everything that happens in the game will be based on what the player does. Their actions shape the story of what happens in the game. However, I don't intend for the protagonist to not have a voice. However, for the narrative itself, i think a quiet and retrospective feel would be a good place to start for crafting the tone. Not necessarily moody, or grim, but contemplative. Almost as if the player is stopped in time, yet time moves on without them if they stay stuck in their head for too long.
(EDIT): I just realized you are not op but i'll leave this here regardless
Hello all, I'm working on a project and could use an extra person to help me work on some foundational elements for the new version of this game. The project is for a 2D side scrolling shooter game with 2D platforming movement. This offer is only for those with experience using Godot with it's primary scripting language gdscript. For schedule and budget reasons I do not wish to work with C# at all on this project. I prefer to look for someone who works quickly and understands the Godot ecosystem well.
This job is only offered temporarily right now, so think of it more as a commission for services. At this point I can offer at least $70 for your work and depending on if I still need help afterwards I may have more work lined up and if you'd like to stay with the project throughout it's full development, we can discuss that and try to work out some sort of arrangement or deal at a later date if I like working with you.
If you are interested and would like to join the project, please send an email to me at nk.toptier.0@gmail.com with your portfolio or reply directly to this post. Any messages without a link to a portfolio of some kind will be ignored.
Thank you all for reading and have a good rest of your day
So this game was initially being developed alongside my main project as part of a short 10 day jam for a bit of a break and it was going well at first until i lost time over one weekend and the initial idea that i had for this game no longer worked out. So i tried making it even smaller and still it took me this long to finally release it. There was a late submission but i figured that I would just finish it up so that I can finally put this in the past and move on.
The game is about you going helping to solve a dilemna between robots as they decide whether to upgrade themselves or stay with their current version. I used godot's mascot for most of the bots bc i thought it would be funny and all the names of the countries all start with 'G' :>
Anyways, this is my first 3D game and i think it looks pretty good all things considered. The gameplay is pretty basic and there's no set end for the game. Things just happen under the hood which you can see on the map.
Controls are listed on the page. Let me know what you think and thank you for reading this post
Hi, I'd like to team up with you. Your idea sounds interesting. I have worked on coding in unity before but depending on the project needs I might prefer using a different engine. I have also been slowly building up skills in working with 3D and would like the chance to practice more in that area especially when it comes to lighting, 3D controls and movement, and trying to gain a better overall understanding of textures, meshes materials and how they all work.
oh yes actually, I am working on a game and would like to hear what you think

Thank you for the feedback, there actually is a pause menu in the game and one of the options let's you see the controls but i will try to implement some way to view the controls in a demo sometime soon. Did you have a chance to try the other levels? Right now, it's kind of inconvenient but you'd have to reload the page to select the other levels. Im thinking of some new challenges that I can offer to players that are adept at these kinds of games right now. Thank you
I am working on a 2d sidescrolling shooter game and I'm looking to see if the game is both fun and intuitive. I already know what i think, but i'd like to get opinions and ideas from the community about what works and what doesn't. I will also give feedback to other people's games who try mine
I would prefer however if your game had a web export. Makes it more comfortable for me to try out your game
Here's a link to my game and the controls are listed on the page

Hi, I was initially talking about how the game wouldn't load but it just took a long time is all.
I actually think that the gameplay here is pretty solid. I do wish the character were a little faster in this and move of all, i would really like if the exp following you moved just a little bit faster. It feels like it is a little too slow for me, especially when I want to get to the next level soon. I liked the upgrades and abilities offered, but i would prefer a more transparent overlay rather than being taken to a new screen everytime i get upgrades or level up. Also, I don't necessarily like the walls of text in the unlocks screen, it could be made more concise with the ability to hover over certain words and figure out what they mean. But the actual abilities themselves were interesting and fun to use and i enjoyed wandering through the map to get away from the enemies like in vampire survivors. The only thing I really didn't like were the sound effects. Sorry, but they are quite annoying to me and the sound balance was pretty bad at the beginning. I don't know what was said but it was very loud. Some of the sounds weren't bad at all, but overall the sound design could use a lot of work
Hi I just played your game and put some feedback in the google for. In general, i liked the premise but was a little bored and at times frustrated with the battles as there isn't much to do in them and when you are losing, the battles can go poorly very quickly without me being able to do anything about it. But I will say one thing, i need more frogs.
I would like if you could also try out my game and give me feedback on the play experience as well:

well, there are a lot of animations that I am planning to do. it's a game involving combat and different movement abilities so it'll probably be a lot. some of them i was working on until i could find an animator so we could like split the work. lmk what you think and if you want i can share more details about the project too
Made a new update to my game, and was looking for some feedback on how the new mechanics, setup and UI feel to use. As always, I'm grateful for any feedback even negative ones. I want to know what works in the game and what doesn't. Controls are on the itch page: https://noel-k.itch.io/project-open-the-portal
Hello I am looking for feedback on the latest addition to my game. I recently added some items to the game and while i am interested if they are fun or not, i am looking to see if it is easy to use them and trying to understand how some players might tend to use them and why. The level itself is the same for now, except I added two item spawners in the level. One near the beginning and one near the end. In this test level, feel free to collect as many items as you like before you start the fight by attacking any of the enemies.
Right now, there are a total of 7 distinct items

There is no in game explanation so i will do a quick rundown right now:
EMP - paralyzes all enemies currently on screen for a few seconds
Wall - places a physical barrier in front of enemies for a few seconds
Sword - kill/damages any enemies that it touches
Flash grenade - blinds enemies for a few seconds
Bomb - kills/damages all enemies within the blast radius
hp restore - heals hp
energy restore - restores energy
To switch between the current item in your inventory press (H). The item in the first (leftmost) slot is the one the will be used. To use an item press (U).
I would also appreciate any other feedback that you may have about say the energy levels or the movement, etc. Also, if anyone out there is in the mood, if anyone would like to record and send a clip of it to me, I would really appreciate being able to see people play the game. it helps to make better game design decisions. if you want to, you can just share a google drive link along with any other feedback in this forum.
Thank you for your feedback, I haven't yet considered someone using the keyboard with only one hand, but i am working on adding controls to fire with the mouse buttons and that way players can choose with control scheme they prefer. I definitely need to update this playtest with some recent developments but for now, I would like to ask a few questions:
Gameplay wise, was there anything you felt worked really well? Was there anything that you felt was lacking? Were you able to finish and if so, how did it feel when you did finish the level?
