My computer struggled with this one to load the first level. However, I think this is by far my favourite! Just run around and catch mice, pretty relaxing. Sometimes cat had an idea of her own and chased mice away when I’d like her to catch one successfully. But hey, she’s a cat and she’ll do whatever she wants.
The concept is very fun, and the mechanic is simple but easy enough to master! Unfortunately I haven’t heard any of the sounds that you guys recordered, and was looking forward to it((
Overall, if something can be done to optimising the heavy 3d, and if levels are a bit polished - design-wise as well as visually, it can be a really nice ready-to-launch game. And music, it needs some easy lo-fi or ambient!
Simple but nice! Art is very cute. (This whole idea could become an animated series, Lackadaisy style, I am not kidding). I think I personally missed some in-game instructions, so it took me a while. The windowsize didn’t want to cooperate with my laptop display(?) and cropped a part of it so I had to zoom out, so I will give it another go on a different computer - but maybe that could be arranged on the game side? All in all, good!
Woah I liked this one so much! Good ol’ platformer where I rage because I keep overjumping all of the time! asfgsdghjk
But seriously, I liked the levels designs, and the simple mechanic of not engaging with the enemies directly, the monochromatic world and the dependency on light. This is a very solid sample that could potentially grow into a bigger game. And if you throw in some solemn saxophone with a sprinkle of keys, mwah!
Music is really nice!! And the transition into battle mode is so satisfyingly smooth. The idea is very cool and expands on what exists already in the rhythm games, but needless to say it was very very hard for me to play! I think I needed to spend more time in the tutorial zone, and maybe have some visual queues on when exactly I’m supposed to hit.
Also good job on reusing the systems you’ve built for the previous jam! I played both games, and can see they have a similar aesthetic and signature style. Very cool beans
Anxiety inducing, fps mine sweeper is a game I didn’t know I needed. It was sad to not hear any music in the web version, and to be honest my browser didn’t like any 3d game inside of it. Downloading a package solved it for me, kudos for having it.
Liked the playlist idea! Would be cool to have a preview before you add or remove songs, maybe I just didn’t find it?
One thing that made me smile is the possibility of jump/fly at the beginning of the level when you’re looking at your map from up top. Apparently you can go up as much as you want :D unfortunately you can’t go back without restarting
A bit of polishing here and there, and this is a pretty solid and rounded little game! Good job!!
With this game I discovered I can’t type…
It took me a while to understand what I gotta do, but when I did it made so much sense!! Very fun that you can extend your vocab, and now I understand fully why you wanted to use Gutenberg font for this. Maybe giving an option to choose from several fonts could add complexity? Even though the game is pretty hard!
Quite intriguing, nice aesthetic which reminded me of the first Half-Life, but I couldn't get into what in theory was needed to be done. Maybe it would make sense to disable hovering controls for the views that can't be changed in that direction? Like at the starting screen you don't need controls down, left or right. Otherwise this is a well made prototype.
Thank you for such detailed notes! After the Game Jam is finished we plan to improve beyond just bug fixing, so we will definitely take your feedback into picture. And we have some tunes in store that we didn't have time to implement.
In the maze we miss some key textures that didn't get exported with HTML version, and we noticed it too late. They are present in the downloadables. We are making a fix for that because otherwise the maze game is basically unplayable.
Again, thanks a lot for the feedback!
