The cane echo looks really cool, and being able to use it freely made it feel great to play. Hearing the vampire walking around without seeing him was genuinely scary haha!

Heads up: I got a type error popup when starting the game. It still worked after pressing OK, but it might be worth checking.

Had a great time sneaking around!

Cool that you made everything yourself, and the lighting on the bullets looks great!

Some easy wins: the game window is really small for me with no fullscreen button, so I couldn't read the timer. A small pitch variation on the shooting sound would make it less repetitive, and a quick line at the start explaining the goal would help, since the timer ended at different moments each round and I wasn't sure what ended it. For the theme, making the bats only visible in the flashlight could be a cool way to tie it in!

Great job!

Great job!

This was really fun! Love that everything is made from scratch, and showing what you missed after a wrong guess is such a nice touch, it made me want to try again right away.

One small thing: some anomalies are really sneaky early on (the door number got me haha). Starting with a few obvious ones and saving the sneaky ones for later rooms could help people learn the rules first before it gets tricky.

Great job on this one!

I liked the art and the map! It started really loud for me though, so a volume slider would be a quick win, and a small hit indicator would help, since I lost health without seeing where the ghost came from. Nice job getting a 3D game out in a week!

Thank you! That means even more coming from someone who isn't into these kinds of games haha, glad it still kept you hooked!

Thank you so much for the video, this was genuinely the most helpful feedback I've gotten! Watching someone play it blind showed me so much I couldn't see myself. Pause is on P, which I totally forgot to show anywhere haha, and wanting to leave furniture with the movement keys makes a lot of sense, never even thought about that. Also you got SO close on level 3, the clock was actually the way to deal with that last hunter haha. Really glad you had fun with it!

The grainy pixel art style looks really cool in 3D, and the atmosphere is great! The dog turning into the monster was a nice creepy moment too.

The clicking sound got a bit much for me after a while. A volume slider or audio settings would be an easy fix, so players can turn it down themselves. Like others said, the faucets and church part could be a bit clearer, but I made it through!

Really like the vibe you created!

Searching for your pumpkin and the platforms with the light is a really fun take on the theme!

One small thing: at the start of every level I had to scan the whole screen to find the player. Starting the light on the pumpkin when a level begins would fix that. Some background music would also be an easy win to add more atmosphere.

Really nice for a first game, especially after switching ideas mid-jam!

Didn't make it far enough for a title yet haha! Story games aren't really my usual genre, but you can tell how much care went into it.

Making a full survivors-style game with 50 waves, upgrade cards and bosses in a week is insane! The arrows lighting up the dark is a really nice use of the theme, and the hand-made art has a great consistent style.

One music tip from my own jam game: the loop is quite short, so it gets repetitive after a while. What helped me was duplicating the loop and removing the melody from the first part, so the melody only comes in after a few bars. It gives the music some room to breathe and makes it feel a lot less repetitive.

Really impressive work!

The art and music are really nice, and having achievements, a settings page and credits in a jam game is really impressive! The writing is nice and funny too.

Really polished for a jam, nice job!

Really cool that you made everything yourself, the art, code, sounds and writing! The writing is really fun, the dialogue made me laugh, especially the costume choice haha. The monster looks cool too.

The jump scare sound was really loud for me though, turning it down a bit would still give a good scare without hurting your ears. And honestly, if you like this game, you should keep working on it, whether you win or not!

Super nice that you still submitted with an exam to study for, well done!

Ah my bad, I meant the platforms, not the checkpoints, those were clear! Either way I liked the ghost and the atmosphere, have a good one!

Super fun game, and such a creative take on the theme! The eye drying up as your way of running out of sight is a great idea, and looking at buildings to gather resources works really well. The art and music are really nice too.

How to get eyedrops was a bit unclear to me though, while all the other resources were easy to figure out. Since eyedrops are what keep you going, making that one extra clear would help a lot. It could also help to show what still needs fixing in the bottom right, where the villager messages already are, so you always know what you're working toward. I also noticed that after chopping down the trees, they respawned lower, inside the farm. Might be a small bug.

Really enjoyed rebuilding the whole village, great job!

The ghost looks cool and the eerie background sounds give it a nice atmosphere!

The invisible platforms made it mostly trial and error for me though, which got frustrating. Maybe give the player a way to reveal them for a moment, like a button that lights them up with a cooldown? That would fit the theme really well too. Also, some sprites are stretched, which makes the pixel sizes not match. Scaling by whole numbers (2x, 3x) keeps pixel art looking clean.

I got that not being able to beat it is the point, but after all the trial and error the ending felt a bit unrewarding. A twist like that works better with a small payoff at the end, like a funny message or the ghost mocking you.

Good luck with your next one!

The idea of a turn-based battle where hiding is a mechanic fits the theme nicely!

The fight UI is a big block of text right now, which makes it hard to follow what's happening. Things like HP bars and buttons for the actions would make it a lot clearer, and the panel could disappear outside of fights. When the game loaded I also wasn't sure there was a game at all until I pressed WASD, so a small "move with WASD" hint or a clear player character would help. And I won fights by pressing 1 to 4 at random, so making the choices matter more would add a lot!

Keep it up!

The story setup is really fun! The ghost suddenly showing up behind me was a nice scare too.

From the description I expected more of a mystery though. Maybe show what's written on the documents, so you piece the story together while you play? Small audio tip: a slight random pitch variation on the footsteps makes them sound a lot more natural, and it's usually just one or two lines of code.

Nice work for a week!

Thank you!

Thanks, that genuinely means a lot!

Dude that's insane haha, well done. One of my friends did get 0:46.61 tho, so good luck beating that one haha.

Searching room by room in the dark makes a lot of sense for a horror game. And don't worry about the exit button, I only found out about that one myself during this jam haha. This is my first jam game too, so I know how hard it is to finish something next to everything else. Really impressive that you didn't give up and submitted it. Looking forward to your next game!

The polish on this is amazing, it feels like a real game release! Probably the best menu and transitions I've seen in the jam, and the music is the best I've heard so far.

I did have trouble getting into it though. Even after reading the whole how-to-play, I didn't really understand how to play. Maybe a guided first board that teaches one mechanic at a time would help? Learning by doing is a lot easier than reading everything at once. I get that text is way quicker to make in a jam with limited time though! Minesweeper isn't really my type of game, but I can see how much work went into this!

Really cool narrative game! The mirror shattering when you open the options menu is such a nice touch, and switching between the real world and the mirror world looks great. The atmosphere with the spooky sounds and soundtrack really works too.

At one point I wasn't sure what to do next and got stuck for a few minutes. Maybe the character could give a small hint, like a thought about where to look? But I made it to the end, really enjoyed it!

Really creative take on the theme! Turning people into stone by looking at them is a fun idea, and different from all the ghost games (including mine haha).

I wasn't sure where to go though, I only found out by accident that the level continues to the right. A small arrow or sign pointing to the exit would help a lot. I also never found my shades, picking them up at the end would be a nice way to finish the story. And even without sound effects, some simple background music would add a lot!

Cool idea, keep it up!

The platform mechanic is really creative! Solid in the dark but falling through them in the light makes for some great level design. One of the most fun games I've played in this jam!

The candles felt too rare for me, I got stuck a few times without them, so maybe add a few more or drain the battery a bit slower? Also, once a ghost is near you, you have to use your whole battery or you die. Maybe the ghost could disappear after a while? And fullscreen didn't work for me, the game stayed the same size.

Great job!

Thank you!

I really like the hand-drawn art style, it gives the game a cozy feeling! The goofy sound effects made me laugh too.

I wasn't sure what the goal was or where the button was at first, so a short hint at the start would help. I also got soft-locked: I fell into the pit but didn't die, I just kept falling. And I didn't really see the "Out of Sight" theme in the gameplay itself, maybe something like platforms that disappear when you look away?

In ieder geval, leuk gedaan!

The monster looks cool and the doors opening and closing is a cool mechanic! The fullscreen button and how-to-play screen are nice too.

The flashlight following the mouse when standing still but the walking direction when moving was a bit disorienting, maybe stick to one? I also had trouble seeing the player, and I couldn't find a single key, so a small hint where to look would help. Also, the Exit button crashes the game on web. I had the same issue in mine, hiding it in the web build fixes that.

Keep it up!

Nice job getting a game submitted with school going on!

The voice lines were very quiet for me, I could barely hear them even at max volume. Adding some background music would be an easy win too, it would add a lot of atmosphere. I also wasn't sure where to go or what the goal was, so a small hint or arrow pointing the way would help a lot.

Keep it up!

The voice acting is great, you don't see that often in a game jam! Also, the options menu with separate volume sliders is a nice touch.

I got stuck on the sudoku though. Dragging the numbers didn't work for me and I couldn't leave the puzzle, so I couldn't continue. Picking up items with E was also hard, maybe the interaction area could be a bit bigger? The character sprites are more detailed than the tileset, so the art styles clash a bit. Small thing: the menu button says "Option" instead of "Options".

I'd love to finish it once the interactions are a bit easier!

I really like the art in this game! The upgrades each night are a nice touch.

I kept trying to shoot when my flashlight was off, so maybe let the player shoot anytime? A battery bar would also help, now the light running out feels a bit sudden. The music was cool at the start but I think it stops after a while, maybe it's not looping? And a small transition between nights would make them feel more like different levels.

Nice game, well done!

Very fun game! The shooting feels responsive and I really like how the theme is used. Cool death animation too!

The music was a bit loud for me, a volume slider would help. A pause button would also be nice. And maybe add a goal or a high score, so you have a reason to do better runs, other than just the kills. I could see this being expanded with different abilities and weapons!

Really cool game! The echo mechanic is very cool. The visuals also look really nice.

I almost finished the entire game but the last levels were a bit too difficult for me. Maybe make the stun cost 2 charges instead of 3? Now you have to wait so long before you can stun, and at the start of a level you can't use it at all. A fullscreen button would also be nice, I wanted to be more immersed! Some sound effects were also a bit loud, a volume slider would help.

Very fun game, well done!
