It just spits out some sorta error code :/ I don't think you'd be disqualified or anything but you'll need to ask permission. I can always play it after though!

This was fun! Really nailed the feel of being a puny human beneath a giantess' throne/foot/ass. I like the general concept a lot too, and I didn't encounter any technical issues.
I think my biggest problems with it might be the sprint meter being waaaaay too short, and simply not being sure if there's even a good ending or way to "win". So far, all I've accomplished is being squashed or eaten in various ways, which- is great, from a kinky perspective! But from a "game" perspective, it's a bit frustrating.
If I'm able to win, it'd be cool to have a hint as to how I'd do so in-game. If I can't win, and only hope for the kinkiest ending, it'd also be great to know that! To be clear, it's all technically sound- nothing's broken, and I believe everything works as intended, I think the place I find a flaw in is the inability to actually succeed. A little bit more time and polish, and I think this could really shine, as the giantess bits are great, and I personally love how each size change gives the player more options for movement! Really cool, that.
The ability to fight back, or dodge roll, or prove your worth- all things that would be neat to see in an expanded edition :) Really good first effort though, and it's again a real cool idea.
It's a cool idea and concept! Oregon Trail is a classic, but...it's also a frustrating classic, and one that is synonymous with cheap deaths and alot of trial and error to actually succeed.
I never got to encounter any size mechanics at all, as I just kept dying. Whether from cold, starvation, or cold starvation. Everything functioned well enough gameplay wise, it was just not well explained enough so that I could survive.
I think ditching the common elements of hunger, temperature, and so on for stuff that actually felt size-kink influenced would've been cooler. Maybe someone in the crew has blueberry affliction- which could boost the party energy while slowing them under the weight. Or a giantess roams, and you have to travel slowly to avoid detection.
I want to believe there's that kinda creativity on display, but I just never got that far as the base difficulty hits so hard, so fast. For a properly big game with all the time and budget for it, this could be cool! For a game jam title, I'm left sadly deflated.
Thanks a bunch! :) I had to add in the black and white filter, it just fit perfectly with the vibe.
Yeah! Simplicity and ease of understanding were big points for me, and oops- yeah the nature of swapping sides just sometimes means you'll clip the plane if you're a bit too close. I adjusted the hitboxes a bit to account for it, but it's imperfect.
Oh yeah, sure thing! Long as you credit everyone involved and toss a link in there to my bluesky or Ko-fi/patreon! :) That's super cool, I'd love to listen to it!
The theme isn't Size Kink, cause the whole Con and Jam is centered around that- the theme is Pulp SciFi. And if you're gonna put quotes around something, the least you could do is actually quote me properly. It's the very first Size Jam, maybe take it easy on the entirely volunteer people who made this happen?
That...doesn't make any sense whatsoever. The theme was, as I understand it, meant to be a guideline, not a strict set of rules. And none of that prevented 13 whole other teams from creating some rad stuff!
Glad you enjoyed the game! Thanks for the feedback :)
The floating stuff does come into play at the end, and likely with more dev-time I might've been able to figure a way to include it earlier. And hey, having her shrink a bit when damaged does sound cool- I'll hafta consider that for a sequel or Expanded edition.
I'm glad the game was simply fun the whole time! And while there's no exact time restriction on ducking the whole time, neither will the player be able to collect balloons or see Bambi swell up- so that's how I decided to balance that out. I can't think of a game that has a timer on ducking, and it'd be a bit rude to uncrouch the player against their will haha.
Aw, I'm sorry to hear the sounds got annoying! Personally, I loved em to death, and I did my best with having each action play any of a variety of noises. Overlaps and cuts though, totally on me- I just don't know enough about how Construct handles sounds to figure a way around that. I did try!! Many of my solutions wound up hurting the game mechanics, so I stopped trying and let it be.
Thanks!! I'm really proud of the polish and Balloon Babe's whole personality and vibe.
Loved it! The interplay between growth, abilities, and upgrades was excellent. Love how each resonance upgrade picked could expand booty or boobs, and granted a genuinely helpful boon to boot! It reminded me alot of games like PVZ or the ole Castle Defense with the stick figures. Gameplay was fun, intuitive, and engaging.
Really liked the expanding units, each was unique, charming, and bloated up in fun ways! Lots of fun, wide-load pileups ;) Berggie's art was a particular big bonus, and the game as a whole really celebrated giantess and expansion well.
All of the art and assets were solid, though it wasn't especially cohesive- it was never distracting, but there was a distinct difference between who did what, that a fullfat release could likely polish to a shine. After about four fields defended, the game did kinda play itself, and I felt more a passive observer than an active participant. The handslap ability helped, but a few more ways to influence the waves or a particularly challenging boss would've been fun too. Of course, a game jam only has so much time- so all that is completely understandable! Honestly, I'm super impressed that I didn't encounter a single bug in my lengthy playtime!
I'd love to see a sequel expand to galactic heights!! Perhaps this goddess could defend a whole system next ;) She's certainly big enough!
Thanks! It is reflected a bit while ducking, mostly in her arms and sides. Didn't wanna mess with that hitbox much! As for the balloons spawning in from more places, I considered adding em in from the opposite side(along with another plane) but it never quite fit. I liked the consistency of them coming in like clockwork, and needing to be vulnerable to snag one :)
As someone who's not a fan of horror in the slightest, but DOES love pulp scifi and expansion- I actually think it fits perfectly. The issue is language, more than anything. The intention behind pulp scifi was never to scare the bejeezus out of someone, but present strange and eerie scenarios that made the reader think.
More importantly, almost any theme with growth or most of the kinks on display here IS horrifying to "normal" people. We who love it sit with that on the daily, so to have a chance to glorify and celebrate that- it's special.
Some buxom babe strapped to a table and shot full of energy rays until her tits fill a room is terrifying to "most" folks- but to us it's a normal day at the office. Unable to move? Horror. Mad scientist? Horror. Ballooning tits? Horror/kink depending on who you ask. A giant woman stepping on someone is "horrifying" to some, and absolute fucking goals to others. There's absolutely no reason not to include the jam theme in the title, especially when it's so important.
Saying pulp sci-fi is "restrictive" is absurd. There's monsters from the deep, robots gone amuck, mad scientists of every description, giant creatures/women, spacey shenanigans, strange new worlds, and so much more. If you can't come up with something to fit a theme that's had examples readily available for upwards of sixty years, that's a you problem. I had 10 days to come up with an idea, prototype, get art, VA, and polish- and I did it in six.
If no-ai use is a last straw for you somehow, then by all means, feel free to participate in some other jam.
Absolutely loved this! A genuinely fun, inventive, and humorous point-n-click with delightful round lasses. I love Bellagarth's whole vibe, and several of the fail-states and endings made me bust a gut :D
Too thickety for a rickety ladder was genius.
If one wanted to contact you or the sprite artist somewhere and say hello/inquire about a collab, where might one do so?
