Pretty short fun experience! I'd like to see a post-jam release. Here's some things to think about:

  • The game looks great! Fine job on the main character's animation.
  • Gameplay could definitely be polished a bit further... You can fall down from a cliff and jump mid-air which is like a textbook platformer bug lol. Also, it'd be a nice QoL if the camera started scrolling only after the player starts descending.
  • The soundtrack is pretty neat. Bummer that it got buggy at times for some reason (it restarted repeatedly and wouldn't get past the first 4 beats).

Anyway, congrats on submitting the game, keep at it :)

That was a quick one for sure.  Congrats on submitting your first entry dude! I appreciate the effort it takes to make everything yourself. Keep at it!

The balloon gameplay is so fun! That paired with really good stage design made this game an outstanding experience. Great job!

Nice one! Congrats on submitting your game. The teal cave ambience is an interesting look. Sad to see  you couldn't really implement everything you wanted. I'm looking forward to seeing a post-jam version!

A really minor bug: Slashing while walking diagonally breaks the walking animation.

A fun GeometryDash-like experience. First level helped a lot to make the game easy to understand. The levels got pretty challenging a bit abruptly imo but i don't mind, that only made it feel rewarding to complete the game with all coins! Lovely art. Good stuff!

Fun stuff! I played some other entries with digging mechanics and yours is the most fun one so far.  If you're working on a post-jam version, i'd recommend...

  • The enemies are so annoying! Luring them to a corner the map was pretty fun (lol). Maybe some other way to deal with them (+ a reward) would be great?
  • Some treasure variations would be cool (A map that reveals a better 'X' spot with better rewards? A crab power-up that protects you from enemies?)
  • No music was kind of a bummer. Did you check on discord? There's dozens of composers looking to collab every jam. :)

Anyway, congratulations on submitting a cool entry :) Gamedev is plenty hard!

Is that like their arm going through the maze? That's so funny lmao

Pretty endearing game! It's a comfy one for sure. I think actually not having music playing at all times is a good design choice, even if it wasn't intentional? I would've loved a little bit more lore by checking the place around (Or maybe i just didn't find any lol that's on me). I actually think it's one of the better uses of the second theme i've seen so far.

Good stuff! Keep going for more. :) Maybe something other than dodge the aliens would be a great addition... Just something to consider if you're thinking of releasing a post-jam version.

Made it to the end! It was very tricky and a tiny bit frustrating at times since the invincibility frames last so little lol, some enemies took 2-3 hearts because it took a while for me to understand how the rope-climbing works. I found it's best (more fun?) to learn the maps rather than explore with the darkness mechanic, but that makes dying feel a bit like part of the 'exploration' experience, which i understand if most won't resonate with that nowadays. Personally, i had fun with it. Good stuff!

Can't go wrong with good ol' Pinball. Loved the palette choice and the art! The soundtrack is pretty fun, catchy and fits the overall quirkiness of the game (it reminds me a bit of Mario Paint lol) but i have to say that maybe i prefer the Space Rangers 3D approach to pinball sound design; all sorts of beeps and boops going on all over the place + jingles rather than continuous music? Of course it's just taste, i enjoyed the music nonetheless when i played through the game, like, half a dozen times. Great stuff all around, good job!

It feels like the whole game was born from some inside joke you haven't shared quite yet lol. Pretty silly and charming game, i liked it! One just can't go wrong with a snake-like.

Wow! Cool stuff. Opening the hatches and finding a weird monster lurking around with one of your guys dead  is a thrilling experience that i didn't think was possible to make happen in this format. Both navigating and patrolling the ship were fun and immersive experiences. Yeah, that's the word i'd pick for this game-- surprisingly immersive. Great job!

It's a nice little experience. I kinda wanted it to last longer, which it's a good thing! Solid graphics and sountrack. I found the hidden coin! Good job, both of you :)

Really cool twist on Sokoban! It took me a while to get it but puzzles are meant to be a bit like that, right? Is it not me just being old and dumb? Huh?
Great job!

Pretty fun short game :), kept me hooked from start to finish.
- It can feel a bit frustrating at times that it seems sometimes the island are generated without enough keys to open all chests? Maybe i understood the game wrong.
- The game can get a bit challenging when there's a lot of enemies around + you can get surrounded by them at some points because of the way the map works, but i think it's part of the thrill :).
Good job all around!

Cool game! I find the whole call to adventure pretty silly, i like it lol.  Why is the basement so big!? The Backrooms-esque map made me a little uneasy lol.  Intended or not, the atmosphere wants to tell more than the things it does actually admit. The little musical references to actual pop songs is a cool detail i appreciate!

Very cool game, LOVED the character art!
- The fishing game can get very addictive despite it's simplicity lol
- There's a couple weird harmless bugs around mostly regarding the dialogue system, it's nothing game-breaking.
- Maybe it's just me being a musician but i found it slightly lacking in the SFX department? It could really help to juice up the fishing game!
- Lastly, i think a little bit of in-game dialogue on the "secret treasure the town holds" at the beginning would have helped to tie up the theme a bit more.

Overall a really SOLID entry, great job guys! I'd really like it if you guys to keep working on the game when the whole voting ends.

Also, this guy/dudette is my favorite lovely fellow they're a bit timid but i dig their style

Oh, you can actually make it to the other side by jumping from the 2nd hydrant, no need to whack the third one unless you want to reach the star. Thanks for your kind words and review!

Sounds like fun :) We could even co-write some songs if you're up for it.

Hi guys, posting this ahead of time to hopefully have a team ready by the time the jam starts. I'd love to join mainly as a sound designer / director or something along those lines :)

I can make both music and sfx no problem. I also have a knack for spritework too but i'd rather do it only if really needed.

Here's my portfolio if you wanna take a look lol https://www.instagram.com/sunipea.wav/

Good luck to everyone!

Hi, i can't really commit to making a whole game this weekend but i'd be thrilled to collab with someone who might need it :)
Here's my portfolio i guess lol  https://www.instagram.com/sunipea.wav/
