It's okay! That was mostly meant for Mac players who wanted to try the demo anyway. We have to jump through a lot of hoops to play Windows-only games. Please consider releasing a Mac version.

Since the demo is also available here, I thought the game would be available to buy here, too? I don't use Steam.

But the "money text outside of the GUI" bug might happen to Windows users too if they are using an ultrawide monitor. Here's a pic:

Will you please sell the full version of this game on itch or GOG, too? I don't use Steam, so I haven't been able to buy/play the first one, either.

I really enjoyed this demo! Do you plan to sell the full game here or on GOG? I'm a Mac user and I prefer offline installers, so I don't use Steam.

What a wonderful "lunch break" game! The puzzles were just challenging enough to make me think, but not so challenging that a walkthrough was necessary. There were lots of clickables, and the art style and design were fun and whimsical - like Kurzgesagt + The Room game series. Anyway, I hope there are more games out there with a similar upbeat, funky vibe.

I love the trail map animation, and the pie shop is wonderful. I think the choice of owner and payment method is very clever. It's an excellent method of adding balanced perks to the game.

I also realized that I've never properly looked at the sticker album? I just bought a postcard(?) from the machine, and somehow found my way back to the sticker book. I accidentally moused over the umbrella beaver...and it changed color?!...so I went through the other stickers.

The water effects reminded me of those squishy liquid-filled stickers I had as a kid. And I still have my beloved lenticular bookmarks, so I audibly gasped when I saw a sticker do the same thing!

And then I found a way to turn off the lights. That. was. amazing.

Maybe they're already in the game, but it'd be super cool to have some puffy stickers for birds that would squeak bird calls when I pick them up. I don't think irl puffy stickers make noise, but they look like they should, you know?

I already thought this game was great when I'd only half-played it, apparently - now it's even more fun :)

Will you ever release the full game here or on GOG for purchase? I like to own my games, so I don't use Steam.

If itch isn't feasible, can you please release your games and DLCs on GOG, too? I'm on Apple Silicon and I want to buy all of your games, but I like to own my games so I don't use Steam.

Yeah. Plenty of games keep the free version available as a demo or a completely separate game - like Type Help vs. The Incident at Galley House. I don't use Steam, so unless a game is available for purchase here or on GOG, the freeware option is my only option.

Nope. It only contains Windows files. Not sure why it doesn't say that next to the downloadable file :/

ETA Heroic Games Launcher: The game only opened on "Wine Staging 11.17" with "auto install/update DXVK on prefix" enabled - and it was just a black screen with magnifying glass pointer. None of the other options worked.

Crossover - patched and unpatched: D3DMetal and DXMT graphics options opened with the title video and the house with magnifying glass pointer, but couldn't click on anything to progress further. (the money's number was shifted to the black area outside of the game as well, but I think that's just an ultrawide monitor issue)

VMWare Fusion: Worked fine in a Windows 11 virtual machine, but the money was still shifted outside of the game the whole time. Probably positioned relative to the screen width instead of fixed to the GUI?

We shouldn't have to do all of this, but if anyone wants to try, there is an option. Hopefully there will be a Mac version.

Just wanted to add my vote to this as well. I only buy on itch or GOG. I'd like to support you by buying the full version on the same site where I've been playing the demo and the rest of your awesome games! :)

What a great game! I was stumped at times, and (rot13) V gubhtug svthevat bhg jul gur urpx gur BF vf gnyxvat gb zr jbhyq or cneg bs gur zlfgrel, gbb. Vg'f fhcre perrcl.

I love "creepy cozy" games! I don't think I've ever played one with a sidekick who follows me around to help when I'm not watching. It's such a wholesome twist on the usual horror trope.

I played on my Mac, and I didn't have any issues. I'm not sure if it's due to the engine, but there is partial Xbox controller support btw. There's no E to interact equivalent, and B opens the menu, but it was a pleasant surprise. I still used mouse and keyboard, though.

I played the demo here, so I hope I can buy the game here after early access, too? I don't use Steam. Thanks for making a Mac version.

This was so much fun! The voice acting was hilarious and engaging. It totally reminded me of The Cryptkeeper, but if he had his own quiz show. I accidentally discovered a secret (I'm not sure what it was), but couldn't figure out what I did or how to get the other ones.

ETA Thanks for making a Mac version, btw. There's tens of us! :)

This was so cool! Almost every time I thought "I think I've seen everything" I found more fun stuff to see. I enjoyed the music, too. It took me way longer than 30 minutes to wander around and absorb all the weirdness lol

I played through a translation layer (GPTK in Heroic) on a Mac, and it looked really good. A pleasant surprise: Partial controller support! For walking, but not running or interacting. Anyway, I hope you make more exploration games with chill music like this.

This was great! I've enjoyed games like Alba: A Wildlife Adventure, Penko Park, and Alekon, but there aren't many 2D wildlife photography games out there. I think real pictures and a bit of history about each bird would be a great addition.

The top of the screen was cut off in fullscreen because I have an ultrawide monitor, so there were some things I couldn't use. Hopefully that'll be fixed in the full game.

I found the checklist by accident, but I couldn't use it because the top of the game gets cut off in fullscreen on wider monitors. I'd have to back out to click the X every time.

Thanks, I'll try those. Most sites no longer have boolean search. I enjoy games across many genres, but I dislike specific mechanics within those genres. Exclusion filters are the most efficient search method for me.

If itch's tags allowed for more targeted search, I would find more games to play. For example, I love horror, but I have to avoid the entire genre. Games with jumpscares or entity chases are popular, and the tags are either underused or nonexistent. Reading through the comments just to find out this basic information is too time-consuming.

Has the site implemented a way to exclude tags and genres from the search results via the browser? I've been cobbling together different solutions I've found into something that works, but starting over every time I want to add/remove a parameter is very annoying. It's hard to find the games I enjoy if I don't use things like:

/games?exclude=tg.horror

or

/games/platform-web?exclude=tg.horror&exclude=tg.visual-novel

or

/games/platform-web/tag-no-ai?exclude=tg.horror

or

/games/newest/tag-first-person/tag-no-ai?exclude=tg.horror

I don't know how to get the multiple exclusions (or tag + multiple exclusions) to work without including a platform first, or how to exclude genres within tags(?). Any ideas would be super helpful. Thanks!

Feedback

  • I love this game so far! I'm more than capable of creeping myself out enough by just exploring, so I can't play games full of chases and jumpscares.
  • REM has great dream- and nightmare-like vibes. Not unlike what happens when I eat too many carbs before bed, the physics and visuals are consistently inconsistent.
  • The method to access the dream chart is clever. It's also easy to read.
  • I've enjoyed making changes and observing the effects, especially when I return to home base (home bed?).
  • I'm SO glad there is controller support!
  • I can't offer more specific feedback on graphics as I'm playing on a Mac using CrossOver (D3DMetal graphics setting). This can lead to visual artifacts and texture/shader issues Windows users don't have to deal with, especially in Unity. I'm NOT asking for a Mac version; I just wanted to let you know the setup.
  • Maybe I missed it, but it would be nice to have a link to your feedback form on the main menu. It triggered at an inconvenient time in-game, and I can't find it again.
  • I'm a huge proponent of being able to purchase the full version of a game on the same site where I play the demo. Please consider releasing it on itch in addition to Steam. I will happily buy it here!

Thanks for reading :D

Is the full version of Snug also coming to itch? I’ve played the demo here, so I hope you’ll make the complete game available to purchase here, too. Thanks!

Thanks for replying!

I only included my system info for feedback purposes :) iirc some Unity games are shipped without shaders(?) that are compatible with Mac Metal. I’ve been told that it happens if a checkbox is left unchecked when exporting the game. We get lighting that’s blinding, too dark, random black squares popping up, and white, black, or hot pink “placeholder” textures.

I haven’t experienced this in a browser-based game, so I don’t think that’s the issue here :)

I didn’t get a chance to play the game yet due to the lighting. I figured I’d come back and try again some other time!

YAY! Thank you so much :)

I really love this game! I believe we should be able to purchase the full version on the same site where we played the demo. Please consider releasing it on itch and Steam.

This was such a clever idea, and the music was fun! I’d totally play a longer version, maybe with a collection of short stories?

I love cozy games and puzzles - but the lighting in the room makes the puzzles too difficult to see. I’ve turned the brightness all the way up, and I didn’t see a way to turn on a light over the puzzle to make it easier to see what I’m doing (like I do irl).

Playing on a Mac, so the browser version is the easiest option.

I am! I was so excited about walking through a Wikipedia museum that I didn’t notice the challenges. I’ll have to try them :)

I’ve noticed some quirks:

  • The information podium sometimes renders in a corner and is blocked by a column
  • The information podium blocks a door and briefly shoves me into limbo if I try to get around it
  • A room door has a gray bar in front of it after loading, but I walked through it just fine
  • Text displayed on a wall can exceed the character limit and get cut off
  • Music doesn’t automatically play in the playlist or shuffle; I have to manually click each song
  • I haven’t been able to play any videos with a projector; I can only view them in the menu

Sorry that I don’t have screenshots for everything, but here’s one of the doorway limbo situation!

Hello! Thank you for making a Mac version. I’m on Silicon (M4) and I get a popup that the app can’t be opened? I’ve used Sentinel to allow unsigned apps to launch, which didn’t work. Then I used it to sign the app - which usually works - but nope. Any ideas?

If you ever decide to release the full Mac version on itch, I’d love to buy it!

Great game! Made it to level 37, 20800

THIS IS SO COOL! Reminds me of Mind Maze from Encarta CDs, but without the trivia. I can fall down a Wikipedia rabbit hole and nerd out in aesthetic splendor lol

ETA Thank you for including controller support.

Great game! I never told the detective anything or broke the seal of the confessional, so I’m not sure why the ending thought I did.

This was so cute! I loved how focused and determined she was to help her nana, even though she couldn’t see a thing haha

I didn’t realize that ratings don’t hold as much weight as comments on games on itch until recently. I wrote this review 3 years ago:

5 stars. This game was amazing and an emotional rollercoaster. Although the subject matter made the game challenging at times, the story fit well within the universe. I’m looking forward to the next installment! (please make another installment)

I’m honestly shocked that Unimatrix games aren’t more popular, especially since they overlap multiple niche communities are are well-made.

The stories were brief, but very engaging! That one “totally innocent” guy was hilarious, and I loved the special options for certain souls.

This was great - really liked the ending!

I love this! It’s so hard to find good creepy-cozy games - and for Mac, too :)

Will the full game also be released here? I don’t use Steam.

This was great! My only gripe is that there’s no way to minimize windows. I felt like I wasted a lot of time just opening, closing, and reopening them.

Ah, okay! I was thinking I’d done too many puzzles for today and melted my brain lol Thanks for the explanation :)
