Ooooh very cool idea. Loved the concept of having to balance the two worlds. I could definitely see your polishing and expanding this game as the core concept is very compelling!

How does the game fit the theme?
There are two dimensions : Real and Cyber. Traps and some Switches are only visible in Cyber dimension.
You cannot trust your sorroundings. You need to toggle between the two dimensions to solve the puzzles.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
3D models (apart from the dog, which is a CC0 asset from Quaternius) are done by me, some of them i modeled before this jam. Code is almost entirely written during this jam.
Music is from https://incompetech.com

I don't know how to say this but, I think it's a pretty 'charming' game? I liked it a lot, the graphics really got me. Albert Doggostein is the goat, and I just wished that there were more puzzles in this game! This game has a very unique vibe! Great game, keep the good work!
Very unique idea, I'd die for prof.Dogostein. Hopefully we may meet again!
What a fun bop you've made in a week! And I'm always super impressed by the solo devs! I do have a bunch of feedback below that I hope will be useful, but overall I had a lot of fun and enjoyed the game. I like the concept and feel like you could do a lot more with it if you want to make it a bigger game!
- Rune of Wisdom puzzle I was going to say feel too easy, but I guess on the way out I got cocky cause I did then die ahah. But, as it is the simplest I wonder if it is worth moving closer to the Professor so that it is more naturally suggested to the player as the first
- I really like that you had clear and useful notes about the controls IN GAME. its one that is so commonly missed with jams right, like our own game we didn't do much in game to direct the player and its such a simple thing but can save so much player confusion and frustration
- I liked then when I tabbed out to start making notes for my feedback there was a warning about the extra cursor and explaination on how to fix it. Very thoughtful addition.
- v minor thing but just giving all the feedback now: it could be nice to see somewhere in the UI or something which runes I have. when I respawned I was unsure if I still had the rune I died on the way back from
- I really liked the audio you chose for this, but it did stop looping at some point. IDK if it was because I was tabbing in and our or some other reason
- I loved all the dialogue, it actually made me laugh quite a few times which I think for this type of game is perfect.
- The concept of switching between the two realities is very clever and I love how the art style transforms in the trippy view. I agree with what someone else put that its a bit under-realised and you can do a lot with it - when you have longer than a week ofc! - like some more puzzles that also require you to toggle back to reality view more. As otherwise I think there is not much incentive to go back to 'normal' view.
- What if you could give the professor pets pls
- Camera sensitivity felt great, but perspective felt a little low... at least in realtion to Prof Doggostein I expected to be a lil higher up
- It's nice having the big map, but I guess if you do continue to build on the game it would be good to have more things to interact with in the space
- Player movement felt slightly slower than I would have liked, just a tiny bit.
- Oh last last thing - unless I missed a was to skip it, the diagloue print out felt a bit slow so it would be nice to skip it by clicking or enter
hope the feedback is useful, it really was enjoyable :)
Albert Doggostein is legendary—I would die for him too! The dimension-switching mechanic is super cool (gives awesome Titanfall 2 vibes) and the sound design when swapping feels really satisfying. My main feedback would be adjusting the puzzles so players are actually forced to switch dimensions to progress, adding a text-speed/click-to-advance option for fast readers, and precaching assets to prevent hitching on scene changes. Amazing concept with tons of potential! I hope you also get a chance to play my game and leave a review: /jam/brackeys-16/rate/4953523
Well (pun intended), that was a trippy little game. The graphics were very good. Had a couple of chuckles with the play on words. The dialogue mechanics could have been a bit better (click to increase the pace) to accommodate for fast readers. Also, the game freezes the first time a new scene is loaded (when i first switched to the shadow dimension and a second time when the portals are activated); might be worth looking into preloading.
A bizarre and unique game, loved it as soon as i saw Doggostein! Though my stressful personality would still wanna speed up the dialogue hehe. Well done!
I would die for Albert Doggostein
Also the idea is nice, the concept of shifting between realities is cool (reminds me a bit of Titanfall 2!). Unfortunately it's just too short and the puzzles are too simple, and the game can be completed without ever changing back to the normal dimension. If you expand the idea you can get a pretty cool puzzle game!
Very cool game! I like the switching dimensions mechanic and I like the sound it does when you change, very hypnotic.
I missed that it force you to do something in the normal dimension, theres no incentive into switching between them besides the funny sounds.
I like the wolf too :) cool guy
Cool idea, kinda sad that you can finish the game using only in the cyber dimension
