How does the game fit the theme?
The main character imagines monsters all around him and he imagines you, the player, as a floating hand as well. Whether the player can be trusted to help or the character can be trusted to do as instructed are open questions in the game.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Everything was made from scratch!

Really nice handcrafted art style with a strong dark vibe. The atmosphere works well and the dev clearly nailed the uneasy feeling. The only thing that keeps players from fully getting into it is objective clarity. Many of us had no idea what the goal was, where to go, or how to move the kid away from the darkness. The resolution being too big on some screens also makes navigation harder. Once the dev explained the fear system, the loop made more sense, but that communication isnβt in the game yet. Still, the visuals and mood are great. (pls play my game)
I had no idea what the objective was/is.
Nicely done on the visuals! I think the game resolution on the page was too big for my screen, so I kinda had no idea where to go occasionally or couldn't see ahead what was scaring the dude. An interesting concept though!
Love the dark atmosphere...
I enjoyed the game. I wish it was a bit more clear on what the objective was, but other wise very fun! Conceptually very cool =)
Really liked the dark and uncomfortable atmosphere... the anxiety/paranoia idea works really well here and makes even simple moments feel kinda creepy. Also cool that you can choose to help him or make things worse. Nice concept overall and a pretty interesting take on the theme.
I love the handcrafted art style! The concept is also really nice. The only thing I think is missing is a clear goal, like what youβre supposed to do, where you have to go, or something like that.
Wow! Super stunning art style! But honestly I couldnt figure out what should I do in the game haha
I was stunned by the artwork. But I had a hard time figuring out how to move the kid away from the darkness.
Yeah, we ran out of time to tune and better communicate the fear and trust aspects of the game. When he is panicking, the boy is still afraid of the hand too, so you usually need to grab him, get him somewhere safe, and then give him some space to calm down. Thanks for playing!
I love that art style!
Love the music, art style, and the atmosphere of the game!
But didn't quite get the gameplay.
Really nice art style; it reminds me of "Don't Starve". I could not finish the game even when I got to the door, and I didn't really understand how to get the player away from the darkness.
