How does the game fit the theme?
It follows a kid(named Coral) in a dream state, and the only way to get out of the dream is to find 5 items, but ur sanity will question your surroundings and ask you questions. Its your choice to agree with your sanity or disagree.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
I didn't make most of the tileset; I got it from free sources that are safe to use in your game jam. For the code, it's mostly orginal but I did get help from Claude for the functions I can't find online

Maybe it would’ve been even cooler if the surrounding changed a lot due to being in a dream.

A very interesting game concept—it definitely stands out from the other participants' projects, which is really cool! The interactive objects really pop against the rest of the design, which feels a bit jarring; I would have loved to scour every corner of the map looking for things to add to my inventory, but that’s a minor issue. Really cool implementation—great job!

I loved the game idea and the cozy style, and the sanity checks were a nice touch :) It took me a while to finish, but overall, great game concept!

I like the idea, and the art style is really nice, though you can beat the game while answering every question wrong which makes it a bit too easy.

I think the fact that you don't really know what you're gonna be asked can be a bit confusing since you need to keep track of a lot of things and it can be hard if your memory isn't as good.

But overall it's a fun little puzzle experience, and a very original take, good job!

Interesting way to tackle the theme, exploring how we sometimes can't even trust our own brains. The pixel art is cute!

Gameplay-wise, shrinking the character's hitbox just a bit might help, as they get stuck fairly often. From a game design / level design standpoint, forcing the player to walk past an element before asking a question about it could prevent players from being asked about things they haven't seen yet and avoid those random guess moments.

Good job!

Love the classic pokemon visual. So nice for my eyes. And the quizz is good too. I have to play twice in order to wake up from that dream. Good game and good submission!

I think you need to give more visual/audio feedback for losing health. I had no idea I was taking damage until I got game over. I think the game design should have had you explore and try and remember things before pressing E to interact with random objects I have no way of knowing the answer to.

The character is really cute and gives a nostalgic feeling. I really liked it! I just think the text could be a little bigger, but overall, I enjoyed it. Great job!👍

A nice little puzzle game; the difficulty could be upped if we didn't know the items to look for in advance. Since you get eight attempts, you can still win even if you guess wrong for all the specific items.

When I approach the object, the text is so blurry that I can’t even read it.

My bad on that, I couldn't find the time to fix it, I think it's cause of the window size!

This idea of having to memorize stuff and don't know what will be the question asked is really fun, would love to see this explore further!

I am not good at observing definitely :')

Don't hesitate to rate our game: /jam/brackeys-16/rate/4942051

This game really tests your observation and memory! At first, whenever I saw something, I would just press E and randomly guess, and I was wrong almost every single time lol.

After playing for I don't even know how many times, I finally wake up. I walked around the entire house, trying to memorize everything, like how many fridges there were, what pattern was on the rug, what the bed looked like....everything lol.

sanity questioning you while you hunt the five items is a nice hook, and the sketchy art sets the mood right away

Cool concept! I think that having the camera a bit more zoomed out would help alot with memorizing the rooms and details and making a bigger picture of it. 'Can I trust my own memory' is such a cool idea for the jams theme. Good job!

I like this concept a lot. A game like this with more narrative and mystery would be very cool.
