Description
A web player thing is on the itch page, so you don't have to download files if you want!!

Used LMMS for all tracks except one, where I used REAPER. I just thought about otherworldly things to try to make songs.
Maybe its a story based exploration game, and these songs are like various events, like before going to this unknown world, and the experiences inside there.

Message from the artist
I am still learning as a composer, I hope some of this sounds ok

Theme

Songs of a Forgotten World
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
The songs "sound otherworldly" I think which matches the text theme. For the picture theme I included orchestral instruments and the woodwind like the bird angels are wielding stringed instruments.

Number of tracks
4

Genre

Orchestral
Electronic
Ambient

Soundtrack use permission

No

My first OST I listened to today and it's Definitely my cup of tea. MMM, SO GOOD! What were your inspirations? Cuz maybe it's just my Rpg Maker filled brain but the whole thing is giving me those types of vibes. The whole Soundtrack feels like one of many games on this engine - for sure. I'm not sure how many VSTs you're using, but you can definitely put the stock ones into good use. And well, maybe some part should be mixed more carefully - sure; but I'm no better when it comes to it [It's my main sin]. I root for you and your future releases!
My favorite one is probably sadreter - for the delightful blend of electronic and jazz [which is also well mixed]

thank you for the feedback! yes i should work on mixing, i dont really have a direct inspiration that i can think of that i listened to before making these, but i can see the similarities with Rpg Maker stuff, maybe subconciously influenced by or something. i played Nine Sols and Deltarune a little while before

You certainly have potential bro, solid entry.

I liked the speed and chaotic nature of Vopoinio. While it could be cleaned up a lot in places to make it more digestible, I like that you went for something unique and a little off the wall. I also enjoyed Sadreter since it felt the most coherent overall. The other 2 felt a bit stranger and not as coherent.

Also, I got massively jump scared because the player you have on itch as kind of wonky and sometimes would hit me with the loudest earsplitting static I've ever heard.

Developer

thank you for the feedback! sorry for the player, i probably should have used that one that already exists instead of trying to 'jerry-rig' one right before the deadline

I like how you're playing around with notes and exploring what's possible in a DAW, and everything still sounds like a perfectly listenable music track for me. That is not easy to do I think. The initially criticism that stands out for me, and I hope you take this as a compliment and not  dig, you are better than the sound libraries you are using! It would be great to hear you ideas with some more refined sound design techniques or live instruments!

Developer

thank you for the feedback, though i only use these VSTs because they are free, i agree i think if i recoreded live instruments that would help something

much like the person below has pointed out, you have potential... GREAT potential, even!! I liked MOST of this submission, but...

I get that you're trying to make odd-sounding music, but with that comes a challenge of having to balance both "what the fuck is this??? what is happening???" and "oh HELL yeah" which I think you probably have to work on, as your submission kinda leans into the former at times (especially in the first 45-ish seconds of Junesse...)

another thing I'd say is that some instruments sounded way too loud compared to others, but I think you'll be heading in the right direction as a composer if you consider my complaints!!!! much love

Developer

thanks for the feedback, yes coherence and mixing are definitely some things i should improve
