Very nice! I like the gameplay and theme. There were a few bugs, like I think I swapped a cow off the screen once and got stuck, but overall it worked and was fun.

Some objects are a bit difficult to see against the background, but I like the herding-by-swapping concept.

Had a good amount of fun with this! Have to echo some of the feedback from otherwise, the game could use a little better readability in terms of what is swappable, what is a platform, etc.  However, concept and execution were overall great and a lot of polish went into the game!

I really like the idea of a space cowboy who has to feed the cows. The levels are interesting, but a couple of times I got stuck and couldn’t swap with anything anymore. There’s also a bit of a lack of clarity about what you can and can’t swap with (it took me a while to figure out the platforms), but once you get the hang of it, the levels are fun to solve.

Thank you for playing! And good points. I could add a highlight around swappable objects when they're targeted.

I ended up playing this one in the emulator as it kept freezing for about half a second every 5 seconds or so. I really liked the concept and puzzles but personally found the backgrounds to be too visually busy. The artwork is phenomenal and look really great on the PlayDate’s screen. Great job doing all of this in the jam! A small quality of life change would be to indicate when the lasso is over something that can be swapped with.

I didn’t experience any performance issues when going back to play again today so could have just been a blip on my end!

Thanks for giving it another shot! Hopefully the performance was just a fluke - it seemed to run ok when I tested it.

A visual indicator is a great suggestion - I think I'll do that.

The version I've been working on had the same freezing issue yesterday, and I narrowed it down to player and cow movement and collisions. I changed nothing, and now it's running fine. Isn't programming fun?

Oh jeez, good luck! haha

Loved the cowbell song and use of swapping. You guys did a great job.

On the first level I had trouble understanding where to swap the cows to –but once I noticed the animation above the grass I was good to go.

Out of curiosity – what led to the game being 200mb? I was wondering if something got bundled into  your source folder that made it's way to the pdx.

Thank you for playing! The size is due to the music - looks like we need to find a way to compress it :O

those wav files can get chunky - but I really did like the music!

You’re going to want to convert the file to ADPCM with a tool like FFMPEG. Details are in “Inside Playdate” I believe.

I love how the swap theme was implemented into a mechanic that benefits both puzzles and platforming. This feels like an elegant harmony between these genres and really benefits from the smaller room designs where there's a demand for both. The swap feels pretty reliable despite being a gamejam project and was a lot of fun to quickly aim around.

Some of the level designs fail to take full advantage of the more interesting parts of this mechanic, but I am surprised at how many complete levels are included. Would have liked to see more swappable objects to play around with as well. There's so much potential for novel puzzle design and I think this is a gameplay loop perfectly suited for quick play sessions like on Playdate. Probably one of the most polished games I've seen out of this jam so great job!
