How does your game fit the theme?
Well it’s a play on words ish. The theme was just get started and my game is called just get restarted. So you could think of it as getting started multiple times but every time matters.

I DEFINITELY enjoyed the concept and even the game hahah, super well done on your first game jam! It was at times a little difficult, but I had a lot of fun trying to puzzle my way out! Don't be too hard on yourself talking about poor quality or execution, with a game jam games simply can't be perfect and that is fine!
Thank you for your kind words! :)
Really loved the concept, looks like you only had 3 days to work on this? Incredible for really only a little time. I think the puzzles got a little too hard too quickly, the one with the one turret and the laser was very punishing because the hitboxes were so unforgiving. Obviously the invisible enemies were no fun, but there were some interesting and fun challenges along the way. I think this has a lot of potential as a little puzzle platformer game if you have more time to work on it. Nice job!
Yes that's right I basically only had 3 days to work on this, I only found out about the game jam halfway through and then I had some life stuff in the way. I agree too and I'm sorry for that the puzzles were unfairly hard sometimes with bugs, unforgiving hitboxes and invisible stuff. I'll work to fix it and it should feel much fairer and better to play then. I'll ttry my best to realise more of the concept's potential, thank you for your feedback! :)
This is such a cool concept! I wasn't sure how to get past the second level unfortunately but I loved the idea very much and would love to see it expanded into a full game. great job, especially for your first jam!
thanks!if you tell me how to beat the first enemy in your game I’ll tell you how to beat the second level haha. No but you gotta use the frozen corpses to build a ”tower” so you can jump over the wall. It’s on me though I have no hint text or tutorial. Thank you for the kind words 🙏
Congratulation on finishing your very first game jam - well done!
I liked the idea and the level design was good - always love to see some more but obvious there are only so many quality levels managable with the deadline.
Would loved a bit of polish on the main menu - but this was certainly not a priority over the main mechanics of the game (which also is the right choice).
So overall you did great, nice job!
Thanks, yeah I would have loved to make more, but even just those last 2 levels already tanked the looks and audio quality loads so unfortunately I could not make more in time for the jam :( if you want to see more I'll be releasing another version after the jam. Thank you so much for your kind words, I'll be sure to improve the game with your feedback in mind!
first i was like "ah another basic platformer (created a platformer himself) " then i was like "huh? is it glitching ... " then i was like "godman" really impressive mechanic and i can see the mono black and white aesthetic made me feel like Limbo
Hahahahah love the way you wrote that. Yes man I was really inspired by Limbo I’m impressed you could feel that. I’m not very good at art but that was my inspiration for the look of the game. Thank you for the kind words 🙏
The idea of using your previous deaths to advance is really creative, and a great application of the jam theme!
The gameplay itself is solid, though I did struggle with levels such as the laser and gun one, but being your first game, it's understandable to struggle with polish or accesibility in some areas, I've had that problem aswell lmao
Overall a fun and interesting take on the theme, good job and keep it up!! :)
Thanks :), yeah this is basically my first time making more than just basic gameplay. First time adding visuals and sounds so thank you for your patience. Gl!
Cool concept ! But I think there should have an option to not spawn corpses since sometimes you just did the right layout and die dumbly and rage because you have to start over.
Thank you for your kind words, I'll be sure to consider that :)
good concept,i had some issues but otherwise pretty good game everyone has already listed all the issues so i just didnt hehe
Thanks, fair enough haha :)
A really nice idea! I'd suggest some collisions polishing, but overall it's a nice game, had fun with it!
Thank you! I’ll be sure to polish it :)
Pretty good concept for a platforming game and the freezing corpses mechanic is pretty cool if a bit of a double edged sword at times if you aren't able to freeze your corpses in the right spots at times. Maybe there could be a slower gravity applied to the corpses to help with that..? Or perhaps a way to delete one corpse of choice/the last corpse summoned or the first. I did encounter some issues such as trying to jump off of a corpse at the corner of it, I can't actually manage to jump at all. And also don't know if it's intentional but I did have a death at the top right of the spike wall where I thought it'd be safe to jump. Aside from that though even though you faced some shortcomings, this is still all in all very well made especially for a first game jam, good stuff
Thanks for your kind words :) I might change howo the jumping works but, you can kinda cheat it by going into the middle of a block, jumping and the moving where you need to go. And no dying at the top right of the spike wall is not intentional it is supposed to be safe so that death's on me sorry. Again thanks!
The idea of using your body to create new platforming opportunity is amazing!
I'd suggest fixing up some of the collisions and attacks, some of them somestimes doesn't feel fair, such as the laser+ gun level, other than that, some polish with great SFX and music would really shape the game better.
Overall very clever idea but still needs some proper fine tuning and polish! As a fellow newbie, great job on finishing your first game! ✨
Thank you for the kind words! I will try tweaking some things for the next version and I hope the game will feel fairer then. :)
I like the mechanic of creating platforms by dying, it's creative and fits the theme very well. I think the graphics could use a bit of work though.
Thank you for your kind words, and yes they definitely could use some work :).
Neat concept! I've seen games with the dying to progress type mechanic before but the freezing mechanic definitely made it stand out and I had fun with it. The movement's a little janky and something seems a bit off with the hitboxes but it's a game jam so that's to be expected and is easily fixable. Has a lot of potential! Good job!
Thank you for your kind words :) Id you don’t mind me asking could you explain more about what in the movement feels janky. The jumping or movement speed? I would really appreciate it :)
I think it was the physics and the hitboxes mostly? The jumping and movement seem good on their own (especially the jumping, well done implementing different jumping strengths, that can be a tricky one) but you run into invisible walls sometimes and it's often unclear what exactly is safe and what will kill you. The unfrozen blocks can also be hard to control/predict in a way that feels unintentional. Again, super easily fixable after the jam if you wanna continue with the project (or implement it in a new project some day). Tons of potential here! I replayed the first couple levels to check on what I meant and still find the freezing mechanic fun to play around with. :P
I’m super glad you took the time to clarify. This is a goldmine for me :) Yes sometimes you do actually run into invisible stuff so will fix that. I’ll make sure it’s clearer what kills you. I’ll see if I can make the unfrozen/frozen blocks behave more predictably. Thanks a lot again 🙏
I really like the mechanics of the game though the movement is a bit jarring and I noticed that if the boxes are even slightly tilted you can't jump and just slide down them. I enjoy being able to freeze your bodies as well as the variety of obstacles in this short game that it pits against you for you to apply that towards and I think it has promise if this is the start :)
Thanks for you kind words, I’ll be sure to fix the not being able to jump :).
Collision boxes could use some work. There were many interactions that did not seem fair because they were either too big or too small. Definitely rework those if you plan to continue the game. Using the bodies to make progress is always a nice mechanic. Good job (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)
Yes I'll be sure to fine tune them, if I may ask were there any hitboxes in particular that were really unfair? Like the spikes, the bullets, the laser, or all of them? Thanks a lot for playing :)
Of course. An example of too small would be the lasers. While playing, my dead body would be further up the laser, yet it wouldn't block it. An example of too big would be the spike wall level. If you got a smidge too close while trying to scale, you'd die and now you have to reset your boxes. Maybe move the collision a little under the tip of the spikes.
Great! I'm really happy you explained exactlyy what you meant :) I'll try fixing the laser killing you unfairly (by not being blocked when it should be) as for the spikes, I can finetune their length but they're alr smaller than their size, however their hitbox is flawed, especially on the width. TLDR Thanks for clairifying and your feedback, I'll be sure to fix this!
Very fun little game, I find the mechanics REALLY interesting! It fits the theme really well, I read the description so I knew how to freeze the cubes so a tutorial would surely help. The laser from the third level was kinda buggy (it would kill me even if it wasnt active in that area.
Thanks :) Yee I will be sure to make a tutorial:) I'm sorryy to hear the laser was buggy :( did you manage to beat it even through the bug
Really interesting concept! Literally got stuck in the second level cuz I didn't know I could freeze the cubes lol, but good game nonetheless!
Thanks man! Yeah a lot of people have told me now that they didn't realize the freezing mechanic was a thing. It's on me I'll be clearer in the next version :)
Nice. Really like your take.
Thanks :)
I like the concept where you die to progress, the gameplay has potential to be a really cool puzzle game. The controls could use a little fine tuning but aside from that its enjoyable! I also love how the art is moody gray, is there a reason for this? It looks cool!
I just thought that dying and using your corpses is kinda dark and morbid haha, I could either try and make it cartoony and fun (which I can't) or I could try and make it dark and grim, so I did. Thank you for playing and I'm glad you enjoyed it. If you don't mind me asking, could you explain more about what didn't feel so good and how it could be improved?
Yup, of course. For starter, you could try to introduce the puzzles slowly, the first puzzle for me took some time cuz I was not used to the movement yet and learning the mechanic while trying to navigate take me quite a while. You could dedicate a level to teaching individual mechanics and then put them together slowly to make the gameplay feel engaging. This means giving really easy puzzles at first but taking a few win before facing a hard challenge would definitely help! Hope this help and good luck on your future projects!! (Or this one if you decided to continue)
Thank you for taking the time to elaborate. I didn’t see your reply before but I caught it now. Thank you, rhis will definitely help me improve this project, and any future projects :) gl to you too! Might have to replay your game again.
Very interesting concept.
Would have been much nicer to play if you had more time to fully flesh it out. As it stands I find the controls a bit too fiddly to play in such a precision platformer. Also the "corpses" physics is a bit confusing to me. I don't fully know why they shift a little that way or the other way as I try to stack them.
Thank you for your kind words :) I also wish I would’ve had more time to really do the concept justice. I’ll try and improve the game until the next version.
