Very cute, love the visuals

cool game, I really enjoyed playing it!

One of the best games I've played so far, I can see this turn into an overcooked alike game with a co-op mode and different levels to make even more cookies! Not sure where the risk factor was ngl but well done overall! The graphics were awesome and the game feels practically done for how polished it is. I'll keep an eye out for future projects C:

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

The risk factor was the throw mechanic, since you might just throw stuff at the wrong angle or with the wrong force, which means your ingredients/cookies fall and go bye bye. Now I think of it, it might not be as obvious as a risk and more seen as a base mechanic. Nobody really take the safe route and just do the platforming xd

Submitted

Yeah I thought the platforming was it. I like the subtle risk aspect of it being part of the core mechanics now that you mention it but I don't think it was noticeable otherwise C:

Very cool game, I love the clouds in the background! The cover is fire as well!

Platforming was fun, i was able to spawn an army of bees by beating the hell out of a hive:)

nice art-style! Very polished game, well done

Super well designed game and great concept! the platforming adds risk and fits perfectly into the theme, it's a great mix of genres!

Submitted(+1)

This is super well-designed! I ADORE the level layout, it’s so clever. Putting the first source of flour between you and the cookie portal tricks you into thinking you have to make precise throws with flour while dodging bees to get it back to your kitchen, when instead you could take the time to explore the map and find better spots for it! That time limit is killer for how many steps each cookie has. The high skill ceiling and potential for optimization is amazing.

My only real thought for improving it would be making it a little clearer which object will get picked up when you’re standing by several. Maybe also a way to recover health, like submitting multiple orders at once or otherwise overperforming? Missing even one deadline starts a spiral into scrambling to finish more that gets out of hand very quickly. There’s also a pretty heavy lag spike when putting dough into the oven the first few times.

I love the butterflies. That got a laugh out of me.

Developer(+1)

Yep I also noticed the lag spike. I'll be discussing that with our programmer. And thanks for you feedback. If we eventually plan to make the game into a full release then we'll surely make optimizations about orders, item pick up, and potential ways to restore health.

Absolutely strong game. Charming aesthetics, fun gameplay, and a well written tutorial. I enjoyed the chill atmosphere of it all! Great work.

really cool game, great visuals

This game is probably one of the best out there but I think the absence of an onboarding almost kill the experience.
(Yep I read the tutorial but a game like this need to give players a hand and accompany them for a while, at least in their first steps)

Except for that the game is a hit and it surely have a lot of potential also post game jam.
Super clever concept well done!

Lovely game! The graphics are really nice and it has a great relaxing vibe to it all

Submitted(+1)

This was honestly the most relaxing and joyful time I’ve had today. The visuals and controls are absolutely fantastic. I really hope this game gets more content in the future

Loved the gameplay! the artstyle and how it resembles the theme, the only thing is that i didn´t get how to cook, reaching the materials was really fun tho, I see this being a real game

Developer

There is a tutorial level! It’s accessible right on the title screen.

Submitted

how do I cook once I have the materials on the table?

Developer

As the tutorial said you PUNCH them into a dough. If nothing happens then you're missing ingredients.

well made!! especially for jam game! so i made the cooke, but i donno where i should bring it :(

Great concept. had lots of fun figuring it out. Made really well. Liked the butter-flies, Nice Game.

wow love the concept

art and music and atmosphere is top notch. I leave detailed feedback on every single game I play, so hope you don't get intimidated by the wall of text. Here's my feedback:

Overall, I wish there was more indicators on what I need to do. Some things I struggled to discover or took me some time:

  • I didn't know right click was for picking up objects. I don't think the game told me this.
  • I don't know what the timers at the top right are about. I don't know what the icons mean or the cards are for, and hovering my mouse over them does not tell me any information.
  • I got to the portal, but it didn't do anything, nor told me what I need to accomplish before I can use it.
  • There are lots of resources - honey, crumbs, strawberries, but the game doesn't tell me how to use it, or where to go to use them. By this point I have learnt I can pick them up with right click, but what do I do with them?
  • i tried donating the honey to the windmill as it had a honey icon hanging by the stand attached to it, but it did not do anything.
  • Later on, through sheer random experimentation, I found you could deposit them on this random brown table I ran into, but then i did not know what to do next.
  • I think a lot more 'hand-holding' would be helpful - anyway that's just my thoughts and merely sharing my experience playing!

I see a lot of other people commenting on the art, which I fully agree with - the art is fantastic, but I don't see much comments on the gameplay so I am left wondering if everyone else has figured the game out and it's just me being a little dense haha. If you could watch my screen, it would be me wandering aimlessly around the map picking up and dropping objects (since you hold only one at a time), while time is ticking down to the eventual game over screen.

Still, I actually left this game running in the background because the music was so cozy and chill, and it brightened up my day just looking at those gorgeous graphics - love the idea of the island in the sky btw. Very wholesome!

There is a tutorial option on the main menu. Did you perhaps miss it?

Submitted

It seems that I have! I see that it's the last button below credits, which is where the Exit button normally is.

Given that the game requires the tutorial to understand, and given its importance, I think there should be a popup like "Do you want to play the tutorial?" Yes (Recommended) vs Skip, when you press the Start button and you have detected that the player has not gone through the tutorial ever before.

I notice that a couple of others missed it too, so it seems I am not the only one, so making the tutorial more obvious would definitely help in the onboarding process :)

Developer

Indeed. I will try to make the tutorial more obvious for this game if I choose to continue development, and for my future projects. These are good advices.

Glad to have been of help! Regardless of these, I still want to add that this is one of my higher rated games so far because the game feel and visuals are very polished and overall gave me a good experience even if I was just going around enjoying the visuals and relaxing music :)
