Thank you for the game!
Very interesting premise and visual style! Character design and animations are very cute, and the monster looks super weird and spooky. I liked how you need to actually hold space down to hold her hand, I think it simulated the real situation pretty faithfully.
Controls got me a bit confused, though, maily because there were not enough feedback on some of the actions. For example, I didn't quite catch what the Q button does, nor where I can dig the hideout and when I dig it if it is dug correctly. Also, I've got stuck on the second encounter with the monster: it always finds me, no matter how I hide. Not sure if this is due to some bug or me not doing something.
Overall, thank you for the game, you've done a great
This must be rigged, because no matter what, the monster always finds me, even when I wasn't in the location he stopped to fetch at! I liked the art and the vibes though. It's a good game entry.
I made a playthrough of your game, which is at the 12:10 mark of this video.
I tried to show as much as I can in the video, but I believe I left out the part where I would abandon my younger sister by pressing the ESCAPE key, or what would happen if I chose to hide by pressing "e" instead of pressing SPACE to "protect" my younger sister at the final area of the game.
Love the art, the bunnies are very cute contrasted by the not so cute monster. A little bit confused by the gameplay, I've seen some comments talking about digging, but I never managed to do that while trying to hide. It also felt like sometimes when I was hidden in the bushes the monster still caught me.
Overall a cool idea, but the gameplay could've used more depth and polish.
Gameplay is repetitive, but the story gave me a feeling of depression and loneliness. I did manage to hide from the monster (which has a creepy design!) several times until I got to the ending, which made me go O_O.
Nice jam entry!
The art on display is pretty good, and I like the monster design, but as others have probably already called out, I got stuck at the digging part. It's a shame too, since I feel like there's more to the game; however, I'm unable to access it due to a very major bug. If the game gets an update in the future to fix the issues, I'd love to give it another shot! Good job submitting to the jam, and I look forward to whatever you make next!
short and sad story, the game felt visually a little like those pop-up story books. The dialogue really brought out the feeling of dread and of feeling lost, the despair when the little bunny challenges what you are doing feels heartbreaking. Overall really good!
I would have wished though to hear more of a buildup when I press Q to listen and not jsut rustling and steps. You know like a tension buildup sound that accompanies the steps to make you dread what happens when it reaches its climax.
Interesting idea! Love the art :D
I really like the art style of the game and the global atmosphere. Good entry, well done!
Very cute game, until it wasn't! Good work
I love the hand holding mechanic, this game has one of the best intro sequences I’ve seen this jam. I love 2.5D games so I’m pretty biased for this, but I did face the problems that were said below, like not being able to hide after digging a burrow. I think cozy horror games are pretty uncommon (not counting mascot horror), so I’d consider turning this into a bigger release someday. Great work!
This looks and sounds really good. Beautiful music, lovely sprites, lush background. The monster is nice and scary!!
Sadly, both times I tried to play it I ran into problems. The first time, I tried to dig the burrow but the digging wouldn't conclude, and I couldn't get the action to advance. The second time, I got stuck on a screen that offered no cover and I had no opportunity to dig a burrow... and that's when we were ambushed by the monster. However, we walked past the monster and it just disappeared. And again, I couldn't figure out how to advance the action after that. So, unfortunately, it looks like there are some critical issues to be addressed here.
Cool game with a lot of style, I understood the concept but I seemed to get caught no matter what I did? Maybe I'm just not good at hiding! :/
It's really nice. Love the intro music, the graphics are nice, sometimes the controls didn't work, and the text in the beginning didn't show at first. I had to turn off the game, afterwards was working. After digging I didn't come back...maybe I did something wrong, the monster was all the time there ... don't know what happened.
Overall, nice entry :)
I was caught while digging!
The game design is simply excellent! It was very pleasing to the eye, and it could definitely make for a great quest.
I like the artstyle and the 2d sprites on 3d environment! I think the controls could be better as it was confusing for me and gameplay is rather the weaker point of the other criteria points but overall I enjoyed it. Really creative and beautiful game!
This game is absolutetely adorable! the graphics are great and tha charactes are so cute! I wish it was more clear where you're hidden or not, because at lest I didn't get enough feedback and I got cought when I thought I was perfectly hidden a couple of times.
It has neat graphics and an interesting concept, but the gameplay kills the horror factor: every time the screen stops scrolling, you know that you have to go near a bush and hide, so the well-designed monster ends up becoming a repetitive chore.
This game is really cool.
The controls though are quite irritating to use, having to hold space, while could be metaphorical... was just a hussle.
There should be some indication that the player is hidden or something cause id go behind a bush, dig, hide and id still get caught. Q seemingly does't do anything? The general movement is also quite slippery
The graphics are really cool and pleasing to look at, the monster design is also really well done, super good contrast to how happy the game looks!
Music fits the game quite well and I do not have anything negative to say on the sound front.
Could be a really good game if just the controls were a bit cleaner.
Thank you! The gameplay itself id definitely the lowpoint, we are starting to experiment with this style of game so it was a really good opportunity for us to learn, thank you for the feedback!
