You definitely nailed the horror theme here. The logs you read about the breach and the fleshed-out (pun intended) level design add a lot of depth to the game. It's crazy to think this was made in a week! As a suggestion, I think it'd be great if the searchable boxes stood out a bit more, since I glossed over them a couple times thinking they were set dressing. Super fun and high quality game though.
thank you so much for playing man. I appreciate your feedback.
also, I thought the same thing about your game. The needle and thread mechanic was great, and I was thinking you did a pretty great job in a week. Good stuff.
Hotline Miami but the flesh is hungry and the body is weak
I like the idea of no savepoints but personally I got too frustrated after not having enough time to reload and dying... A good game concept though! Also idk if the compression artefacts in the soundtrack were intentional but I liked them... Crunchy noises
thank you so much for playing. I agree with you. I have an update planned to add checkpoints and hopefully that will help yo offset the difficulty a bit.
The game is very cool. I like the visuals and sound effects. The game is pretty difficult. I died so many times. Good job!
thank you for playing. I have an update planned that should include the checkpoint system.

Good game but mostly frustrating, player only have 1 HP and I struggled to get to the next room w/o being killed constantly by the tiny ones.
Good work on the game! It’ll be nice if the game is not 1 hit KO
Is a nice, well made environment game but assuming i have skill issue and mostly played dumbly. Safe to assume the no checkpoint is too brutal lol
currently working on a checkpoints system that didn't make it before the jam deadline. That should make the difficulty much more bearable since you will only have to clear 1 area at a time and not the entire level. Thank you for playing. I really appreciate it.
I LOVE THE NO CHECKPOINTS HOLY COW, FIVES ACROSS THE BOARD TED. I LOADED THE GAME AND OH MY GOD, IM SO HAPPY THAT THIS GAME WASN'T DOING JUMPSCARED, Thank you so much for that. I love everything about this game holy cow, I need to pick at your mind. THIS IS AWESOMESAUCE. Subsume is such a good name too. YOU MAD ETHIS IN AWEEK, WHAT>>>???
Everything about this game is awesome, The player characters speed, if you speed through the game you just die, if you go slow you will probably win, which helped the tension.
Only real feedback is its hard to tell what is interactable, perhaps if interactable glowed or something when the player was close to them to encourage them to walk around the room. God thank you for playing my game sorry it took me this long to play yours, didn't know it ran in browser. Solid Work. Win please
And its a gamemaker game oh my gosh
Perhaps there could be white or black sprites over the other rooms so that you didn't know the "safest" one till the door was open
If you havent played intravenous give it a looky, this is the genre of game I love and the game play is similar ton intravenous give it looky
I really appreciate you man. Hopefully this project goes on to bring a bit of joy to as many people as possible.
Dude it will, please I love this game so much I love the atmosphere, you did something crazy making this in game maker the flashlight is the coolest way to visualize a flashlight, the gun mechanic was so simple. Very fun. Atmos was everything. The realistic human scream was everything it needed to be. You are a talent, lemme know if you make something. I'll fuckin buy it.
I appreciate you my dude.
Me and what I assume to be the final boss killed each others at the same time, so I'll take that as a win. No checkpoints is very punishing. Combat, especially the boss was very fun and intense!
thanks for playing, yeah checkpoints are a universally wanted update. 😆
I absolutely loved it! I’m not going to say it again, but I can’t wait for you to add checkpoints haha. :p
Sometimes the adds that appear when enemies die don’t move. Not that I mind, mind you!
The randomness of the loot is very welcome, and being able to see everything without the “fog of war” doesn’t bother me. On the contrary, it makes me want to keep progressing to reach those places. And it allows me to better appreciate the overall environment. Anyway, that’s just my personal opinion.
Well done!
Thank you! definite plans to look into all of the information gathered here so I greatly appreciate any and all feedback.
Really great submission!
I like gameplay it's just fun to move and shooting is pretty juicy.
I like mechanic of monsters, that moment when you divide it into two is cool idea!
I had some problems that you die so fast with first contact, maybe there could be some simple health system to give player second chance?
What I would improve is just simple dark mechanic with flashlight, I think that would increase horror atmosphere here
Great job and congratulations on your submission!
Thank you so much for playing! we will be working of both balances for difficulty settings and implementing checkpoints. The flashlight will likely see improvements, though Gamemaker is severely lacking when it comes to things like lighting systems.
Very smooth and nice to play. Only letdown is the absence of dynamic arc torchlight system. Scanning the screen (even through walls) to spot ennemies feels wieird. But I see how time was short to implement it. Very good game overall.
Thank you for playing. The light is by design due to the difficulty level. Solid feedback.
I had lots of fun in this game! The controls were tight, gameplay was tighter! I kinda wished it had more! Checkpoints we really missed on the run, and perhaps a easier enemy which didn't spawn multi dudes would have made it more richer. Overall a solid entry, good job!

Love this feedback. Thanks for playing. watching you play was awesome.
Really enjoyed playing your game ! Nice atmosphere, good controls. So great for a Game Jam !
Thanks so much for playing!
I'd like it noted going in that I am not good at these types of games :P That said, while I did have some issues with the menus and thought the ammo retrieval effect was a tad too dramatic, the atmosphere is impeccable, particularly the use of light and sound design.
Thank you so much for playing and for your feedback. I struggle sometimes when playing games that aren't in my norm, so I understand and appreciate you finding something to like in my work.
SSSTTTTEEEEVVVVVEEEEE!!!!! Felt like Tetsuo from Akira in a good way haha! My only complaint would be please stick a checkpoint before him xD
I tried to have checkpoints up and running before the deadline. I do plan on adding them in.
One of the most intuitively fun games I've played. Who doesn't love shooting things? Gives me Hotline Miami vibes.
Thank you for playing man. I really appreciate it.
Awesome game. Loved the sound design, atmosphere and layout of the level and story. The movement, firing, and art felt very polished especially for a short horror jam. It's incredible y'all got this looking so good so quickly!
Few notes that are pretty minor. The menus are borked. I ran in browser and fullscreen and I couldn't see half of the buttons. Thankfully, I was able to see the play one. Checkpoints would've been nice but I can't tell if you did have them and I couldn't see them because of the UI or if they never made it in. I got to Steve (awesome monster btw and good lead up to him) and died right at the end and had to restart all over. I also didn't see anything for an ammo count which could've been by design. Would be nice to have a visual on that.
All in all, that was one of my favorites. Well done!
Interesting. seams like it was zoomed in for you. I hadn't had that feedback from anyone else. what kind of monitor do you have/ what resolution are you running it at.? check and make sure you don't have browser zoom turned on. as that can sometimes cause an issue.
Hey, no browser zoom but I am running on an ultra wide monitor (49") which may have had something to do with it.
That is likely why. Maybe i'll look into forcing the window size. thank you for that feedback. Edit: there is an ammo count, it is outside of the left of your screen I believe.
Cool submission! it feels pretty scary to play ngl. My only problem with it was the one shot perma death, ik its a skill issue but it felt frustrating to die from them touching you then it plays an animation and the level just restarts from the beginning. I did not get very far, but from what I saw, it was pretty well done. Congrats!
Thank you for playing. unfortunately I didn't get the checkpoint system completed in the deadline period so that feature was cut for time. I plan on putting it in once I get it worked out.
This is probably the best Jam game I've played so far. Maybe part of it is because it's a topdown shooter. The fact that you die over and over again to gain experience doesn't get annoying. The random loot also makes it so that each time you play it doesn't feel repetitive. Smart design!
Also, the mouse-based view is fun. I can learn more from it.
Hey, Thank you so much. This is my favorite comment by far. (maybe i'm biased). I plan on adding more loot types instead of just having bullets in the future. I had scrap already, but since I cut the crafting mechanic to save time, the scrap materials got cut as well. I plan on adding them back in and have plans to implement trap crafting.
Gorgeous art. Great job on the audio too, really solid voice acting.
Thank you so much for playing.
I really liked your game! It totally reminded me of Hotline Miami, and the final boss was giving me Binding of Isaac vibes. I genuinely enjoyed it! I also got spooked when an enemy suddenly popped out from around the corner, haha—super good! The sound is cool too, and I love that you added a little reload animation for the gun; that was great.
I only had two minor issues, nothing major, just giving you a heads-up: sometimes a small enemy would just stop and wouldn't chase me anymore. The other one was that the death animation played, but I didn't actually die, so I ended up having to restart the game.
Overall though, it was a great game, congrats!
Thank you for playing! Yes, the enemy AI needs an overhaul for sure. I simply didn't have the time. Do you recall what you died to when the death animation triggered but you didn't die? That would be very helpful for sure. Thank you again, I'm happy you enjoyed it.
It was a small enemy that killed me when that happened. I think I was walking and reloading when it occurred. The animation of turning into that 'mass of flesh' played and just stayed on the map—it never disappeared or triggered the 'try again' menu.
Very helpful, thanks. looking into it
Couldn't recreate it but added a redundancy check that inhibits player movement if the mutation object exists, and another That creates the Game Over object if the mutation object exists in the event that it isn't created like intended. This should clear it up... hopefully. lol Thanks again.
Well done. It's a solid little top-down shooter a la Hotline Miami or Police Stories. The graphics are detailed (though very zoomed out), the sound creates an atmosphere of utter dread, the controls are responsive.
Like those other games however it is also very, very difficult. Using one-hit kills is brutal because you only allow the player a single mistake. In the jam context it might be helpful to err on the side of leniency just to give the others an opportunity to see more of your game.
The original plan included checkpoints but I couldn't get them worked out in time for the deadline. Thank you for playing, I definitely recommend playing in fullscreen.
Fixed the viewport size so it shouldn't be so zoomed out now.
I was using fullscreen anyway. What I meant is that the camera size is really large.
This has the advantage of giving the player more situational awareness, but at the same time it means the graphics are all very small. It's a tradeoff.
Oh I see. Thank you! Might mess around with a few settings and see if I can find a happy medium after the jam.
