This was a creative game idea. I played for a while. The music and sound effects were good.
It took me a few deaths to figure out what was going on. It would have been easy to add controller support, and taken only a few minutes. Getting achievements didn't seem to make the game any easier to play. Perhaps this just wasn't my style of game.
Very creative, and good game loop.

What a nice take on the Vampire Survivors genre. Recruiting and repurposing followers was a lot of fun. Some balancing would help, as I felt it was quite easy to make the mages OP, making the start of the game very hard until I got some healing and +40% fire damage upgrades, after which I just steamrolled to the end. I wasn't a fan of the music but can't complain. Overall this is probably the submission I had the most fun with so far. Well done!

Things I liked:
An easy to learn, innovative twist on vampire survivors mechanics with clean art and satisfying sound design. Nice work!
It’s a great take on the horde survival genre. It’s interesting than instead of running around, you have a clear goal as to where to go. I like that you can’t turn around and go back, it pushes you forward.
The road could be made wider to space out the buildings a little. I feel that there is too much on the screen at once.
Great submission!
This is such an original idea, great interpretation of the theme!
The hp rings felt a bit op, and I found myself liking to go full archer and full archer damage. Became literally invicible hahaha.
Honestly congratulations, this is a very good entry (especially for a first jam)!
Thank you! <3
Really great approach to theme! I like this unique "vampire survivor" vibe.Congratulations on your first submission!
Thanks! game jams are always a great learning experience for me!
Glad to be apart of the pacifist all farmers gang. I dont know if it was intended or not but its a really fun way to play the game haha
Overall really good take on the survivors-genre that works well with the theme
Thanks you! pacifist gang ftw!
Nice job! I liked playing around with different combinations of villager jobs. I did a pacifist run with lots of farmers. Once I got a couple HP rings, it was smooth smooth sailing. My poor farmers got bombarded a lot.

This was a fun game. I played enough to get all achievements, except winning 5 times. I found the best group for me was all farmers. The run where I won I had 14 villagers, over 70k gold, had gone a distance over 500, and level was over 80. I had 3 items, 2 of which were gold magnets, and a healing ring. My strategy was to gather villagers when it was safe enough, especially early on, and try to get a healing ring, then just run away. My level up was plus to gold farming and max HP. Early on I alternated, then I favored HP, followed by gold. It would have been nice to see your max HP.
I found that I only really died from the ranged attacks hitting in a group, which made stopping to get things tough. I often died trying to stop for something and then a swarm of gargoyles showed up. Early on I wasn't sure how the gold was used, and initially thought the chests were supposed to give you gold, rather than acting like a shop where you pay to open them. It was unexpected that gold was also your experience, and when not using the farmers, made collecting it more important. It would be good to add some info on some of the game basics, such as paying to open the chests, and gaining XP.
The upgrade options were good. They felt appropriate to the classes and useful. I did find myself generally sticking with mostly a single type of unit and focusing on their upgrades. I didn't find the knights to be all that useful due to their short range. They did not seem powerful enough to make up for that disadvantage, though that may have been my perception from not using them enough and finding a good way to use them. Maybe getting more keeping the group closer and extending their range would have paid off, but I never got far enough with them to reach that point. I really liked the mage AoE ability and did a run with all mages increasing the size of their attacks until it covered much of the screen. I probably could do a winning run with them, as long as I was more careful about going after chests later on. The archers were also good for me, and were the class I most often favored, partly due to being one you get at the start. Their range and high rate of fire were great, especially if you could get the split arrow.
All around a pretty good game. I spent far more time playing this than I had expected to.
OMG Thanks for the feedback! glad you enjoyed it!
Great concept for the theme and one of the best interpretations I’ve seen so far! I found everything fairly intuitive except for the damage circles on the ground (enemy spells, I guess). They seem to come out of nowhere and I couldn’t figure out a good way to deal with or avoid them. The difficulty ramps up a bit too quickly, but maybe that’s my slow reaction time :D
Excellent entry!
I always die to them too lol. They’re pretty much last minute addition so they’re really unpolished
Really cool idea, I liked this a lot, I found it very difficult but I might just be bad, but I really loved the idea of having to manage the role of all the followers
<3 Thanks!
Loved the art style of this game, I didn't quite understand what the blue lines are but I still had a lot of fun!

This was a blast, a cool take on vamp survivor.
The art style is nice and totally suits the game and I like the variation in classes and each class having it's own set of rare skill drops.
Only issue I had is that max health seemed a bit pointless as once you get a little bit of health regen none of the enemies could really hurt me when bumping into them, but the fireballs that hit the ground would always one shot me no matter how much max health I had. The game basically becomes snake towards the end making sure you don't retrace your own path.
Because of this though I did have a fun run where I made nothing but farmers and I was just leveling up every 2 seconds from mass amount of gold, gave me a good laugh.
Nice work.
glad you enjoyed it! I think the fireballs is a bit bugged since they deal way more damage than I expected. But somehow I think it actually added some challenge to the game lol
I liked this!! Took me a minute to realize I could re-job my followers. I'm not usually good at these types of games but this was fun. Nice work!!

Cool game! It took me a bit to figure out how followers are repurposed, but after the first time I died, I understood. However, I haven't been able to figure out what gold does, and why anyone would ever repurpose the followers as farmers. They feel so much weaker than the rest. I love the upgrade system and how smooth the circular unlocking animations feel! Made the knights pretty strong by getting certain upgrades to the swords.
Yeah the balance is pretty all over the place right now. Balancing random upgrade is hard lol
This was a really good game, this one suits the theme really really well! The gameplay was fun and the overall mechanic was original.
Things I liked:
Moving diagonally allowed me to skip past lots of the enemies. I think making the player faster whilst travelling on the central bit of road (or, equivalently, slower whilst on the grass) could help. Also a tiny point but in your achievements menu the glyph for the checkmark doesn't show up (I believe the godot editor fallbacks to your system font, and I think the itch browser doesn't do that, so all the glyphs you use need to be in the font you use or the manual fallbacks you define. Maybe I'm wrong though, I'd double check)
This was really really really fun to play and I think its super original!
Oh also, I think some of the sound effects for the damage / weapon hits got a little annoying near the end since there were a lot of them being played for most of the game. But it wasn't too bad. And the spikes felt easy to bypass by moving around them vertically on the map.
In my best run I managed to get to a distance of ~300. Thanks again for making this :)
Thanks for the detailed feedback! glad you like it!
very silly little vampire survivors game with a twist. i feel like i dont really understand why my followers didnt always be repurposed at each place, but in general, i enjoyed the game a lot!
Glad you enjoyed! Yeah the followers repurpose mechanism need some more explaining. they need to be near enough to a building (with lines between them) to be actually repurposed. or maybe there’s some bug I didn’t notice lol
I really like the gameplay and can't wait to see where this project goes.
