Dive hard : aimbot fish edition

Submitted(+1)

Great game, but the controls feel frustrating. I’d love to have more control over the player’s movement. Another improvement would be adding i-frames after the player gets hit by a fish or a bomb. Right now it feels unfair when the player takes another hit immediately after already being hit. Overall I like the game!

Developer

Hey, thanks for your comment and feedback.

Your complaint about controls is completely fair, we want to make it hard a little more, I understand that it can be frustrating.
But game already have i-frames for 2 seconds after getting a hit.

Great game! Such a "simple" idea so well executed. I also really appreciated the intricate sound design. Really great job!

Developer

Thank you very much for your kind comment!

Half of the game's appeal for me is its mechanics and design, and the other half is its sound design. It definitely wouldn't be what it is today without the sounds.

This is so well done! Really clever gameplay, and very fun to compete for a high score.

One of the most satisfying submissions for this jam in my opinion. Such a simple mechanic got me engaged for good 15 minutes! Excellent job on finishing the game and implementing the special object) Props to you!

Developer

Thank you!

It looks pretty well!

I think this is one of my favorites so far, I really enjoyed this! The propulsion mechanic is really fun and the art style is great! Really good work!

Developer

Thanks for your nice comment!

I'm glad you like it

Awesome job! Loved one button gameplay, easy to understand and pretty addictive!

Absolutely love it. The gameplay is really cool and pretty addictive. The auto-spin seems like such a simple idea, but I don't think I've ever seen that anywere, and it's quite fun in practice . The overall visual and sound quality is really high too. Great timing and tempo on the movements, beautiful sprite work, clear UI and very enjoyable music and sounds. Good stuff!

Thank you for nice comment!
Kudos to Oliver for the sound effects and music. I absolutely agree with everything you said about the sound.

A fun little game.

Fun simple gameplay, really clean UI and visuals :)

Great concept that motivates you to try again  - you genuinely feel like you can improve. The animations are lovingly crafted, and the overall style is cohesive. This feels like a complete game. It would also work perfectly on smartphones.

Bonus points for the sound menu behavior and the leaderboard.

Developer

Thanks for your nice comment!
This is the third mobile game recommendation/praise I've received, I think I'll consider it...

Submitted(+1)

This game is full of little details that add up to a lot: changing the direction you spin when you get hit, the animation that clearly shows you're not spinning because you're using the speaker, enemy warnings, that little effect when you get hit—it's a great experience.

Adding a leaderboard is also an excellent touch. It's a very solid entry for this jam. Congratulations!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your nice comment!
It's nice when the little details are appreciated. Even if mine aren't that effective, I believe that what makes a good game great is the accumulation of small details added on top of the core mechanics.

nice game loop

Simple & effective, this game is great! Feels like a mobile game you'd boot up every once in a while! (put it on mobile, add advertisements, and earn that bag🤑🤑🤑🤑). Loved the addition of leaderboards, but I couldn't find my own entry?

Developer

Thank you!
In leaderboard, players only can see first 15 entries. If you are in first 15, maybe some bug happened. Sorry for that.

If I remember correctly I got somewhere between 3.5-4k points, I do remember that it I should've been on the leaderboards. I did put a space in my name, so perhaps that fucked it up? What did you use to add leaderboards? I'd love to help you figure out the problem!

Submitted(+1)

Wow, on my very first run I beat one of the developers! I urge you to post this on the google play store or the Apple equivalent. It would be pretty fun to play on the go <3

Thanks for your nice comment!

Didn't have much time to play my own game since jam finished, but I plan to take the top spot on that list tonight and sit there with a huge lead.

Pixel art is the best.

Do I get extra points for killing a pirana with the bombs ( It's too hard to sync this trick)?

How did garwy get 0 points in the leaderboard? (kinda impossible lmao)

I like the polish on the menus and art, those are very neat quality of life

Good job!

Developer

Thanks for your nice comment!

I wanted to add an achievement for killing piranhas, because fishes can die and have animation for it, but didn't have time for it. I achieved it only one time while testing.
0 score happened in testing again...

Great idea with limiting player's ability to choose direction of rotation.

Developer

Thanks, had to make it more difficult, couldn't say it's balanced now (still kinda easy) but at least more playable this way.

Solid game loop!

Everything in this game is so polished, the gameplay loop is very nice!
