Wish there was a way to skip drafting cards, and some kind of indication of what my overall spend/gain was per turn for the various resources is. But overall great work.

Very well made deck-building game! Really liked the asthetic and the gameloop. The game is very intuitive and easy to pick up. I'll definetly play more after the game. You all did a great job!

The visual and audio atmosphere work really well together.

There are some interesting concepts and mechanics here.
The game could benefit from clearer explanations or a slightly more developed tutorial to better introduce the systems.
Nice work overall! 💚
I’d love to hear your thoughts on our game as well if you get the chance.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I gave your game a play, super cool!!

Okay, I’m not very good with complex card games, so it’s a bit hard for me to give deep critique since I struggle to fully engage with this kind of gameplay.

That said - the visuals, sound design, music, effects, and overall juice are absolutely top-notch. Truly impressive work on the presentation alone, 5 stars in every category just for that!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for giving it a try anyway, and really glad you liked the visuals and audio! :))

Kinda interesting, but I didn't get if there's some final purpose. Completed 3 seasons, felt pretty easy to me, no challenge. But overall, it's interesting concept with good visuals and implementation, maybe with some balancing it would make experience more challenging.

Thank you for playing!

Really enjoyed the arts for this one. The sounds and music also gives a really good atmosphere.

Likely has been said a lot already now, but I felt overwhelmed by the amount of mechanics when first thrown into it. Having made card games for game jams myself, I understand that it must have been difficult to craft tutorials after the time spent implementing the game itself.

About the game itself, although I do think it feels polished, especially for a short game jam, I also think it felt under-realized. While the core idea tries to marry the deckbuilder genre and the basebuilder genre, I think it's very clear that this was a card game first and the base-building mechanics feels very shallow. The bulk of the game is all about resource-management, but the base building aspect doesn't really interact with that part at all. The buildings (cards) don't interact with each others. I didn't get why there was a "Discover tiles" mechanics (except for the theming of being on an alien planet). The map's bottom part is also covered by your hand a lot of the time.

Overall, I agree with other commenters that this game has potential to be expanded, but personally I would try to lean more into the base-building aspect of the game to make it more unique in the genre.

Really polished game! I think mixing the themes of deck builder and city builder worked out really well, and think the game would've benefited from a more clear way of understanding what order each of the buildings trigger in. I didn't find as many synergies as I would have liked in a deck builder, but for something made in 7 days, this was a great experience. Well done!

Amazing deckbuilding game! It feels so polished coming for a game jam and it has a lot of potential to make it into a full game. The pixel art style and atmosphere is really unique and I've loved the contrast between red and green of the palette you have chosen.

Developer

Thanks for playing, and glad you enjoyed! I also love the palette, was super inspired by the colors :))

This one looks awesome & feels awesome. I wish it told me why i lost in the game over screen, like what was the trigger to my demise. But other than that, sick game.

Absolutely killer game feel. This was very creative and I enjoyed it a lot, major kudos!

Beautiful artstyle and promising lore. I didn't really enjoy the gameplay. Sometimes I just wanted to get back to the menu to pause and I lost all progress immediately (I know it is a jam game so this is understandable).

Knowing nothing about the draft phase made it very irritating, since I just wanted to see what kinda cards each thins have, there is no confirmation or anything so I just got the same card twice. Also skipping or cancelling was not an option with any cards added which is kinda weird for me.

All together this is a very impressive entry, with deep game system but for me it was a bit hard to get into.

What I liked:

- The art, the style, and the atmosphere are soooooo excellent here. The UI is hands down the best UI I've seen at the jam, it's so fitting for the game and clean

- You all clearly were so intentional and developed such a deep, rich system and gameplay loop. It's very clear that a lot of effort and thought went into the details of this game and it's really impressive

- The programming is very well done and I was unable to find any bugs despite your game having so many different elements to it,

What I thought could be improved:

- The lack of tutorial is really killer for a game with this level of complexity. With so many mechanics, it just was really hard to learn each individual piece one by one.

- While I loved the UI, it would've really helped to have a little more information or if you allowed me to hover over one of the many elements and just like, have the word "Sanity" or "agitation" pop up so I would instantly be able to know what's what

- I think in general, there was a lot about this game that was overwhelming. Besides being put right into the middle of the action, the fact that you can discard, draw from up to 6 piles, and modify your deck so broadly was a lot for my first loop through your game.

Very enjoyable and thats coming from someone who doesn't like and play deck building games. Love the art style and the atmosphere. I've found the game on an easier side but that's not neccesserly bad  I enjoyed my time.

Wow, this game is so polished, I love the clean art style, the color pallete and the small details like the animations in the UI, really cool game, hope you'll expand it, congrats!

Good strategy.

Incredible game! Very obsessed with the art style and color palette!!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words :)

Beautiful game, cool design of the world and idea. Lovely to see a strategy game! I'll echo the need for more onboarding before showing me every resource and concept, but once I understood it gets satisfying with a good amount of interesting choice. As I explored the area I expected to find something sometime, but I never did during multiple seasons. I guess it's only used as more land to build on but would be cool with discoveries! Loved the art, and the music was relaxing.

The game definitely fits the theme! Very polished and well thought out

Pretty cool deck-building drafting card game (that's a mouthful alright). Art and sound were pretty top notch as well. I'm not that good of a card deck drafter but there are probably some combos that I haven't found yet, and I can't really comment on the balancing and what not. Though I did find some cards a bit expensive to use, which did lead to quite a bit of a dead draw.

Also can't have enough praise to the artist, great pixel arts :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing, and you're too kind :'))

Wow this is super, I sense a bit of inspiration from balatro maybe or possibly that is just the vibey music made for this game? Great deck builder design mixed with tile placement and resource management, with the immersive pixel art to go with it. What a gem of a submission! SFX were on point also, very satisfying getting resources.
