I had so much fun playing it even though I could not go much. Mechanics are a bit weird I couldnt progress for a while but once I get it it was really fun to play. Its obviously hard game, maybe beginning of the game could be simpler. And level design is little confusing, I can not figure out where should I go in certain places. But this gaem has a lot of potential whit this really cool mechanincs.

the wiggle should not have been introduce as "a lil tip" bro that shit was ESSENTIAL
also because of all the wiggling my shoulder hurts now, 10/10 would destroy my shoulder again
also add a skip intro button
also for what reasons does the grabber arm only reach the mouse position? bro really try to kill my shoulder over here, can't the grabber arm just over shoot?

Great game! I love the world, it's so bizarre. It reminds me of The Cat in the Hat

I was just sitting in the main menu for minutes just listening to the theme song, basking in the absolutely immaculate style and atmosphere before the game even started. And then the opening? Oooo, it was so hype as the camera slowly revealed the level. The music, the eclectic art that still somehow feels cohesive, along with the crunchy narration.

Basically, I've never found myself so immediately charmed by a game that I immediately realized I wasn't going to finish as soon as I touched the controls for just a few seconds. I absolutely see what the vision was here, and to be entirely fair, I'm just straight up not very good at these types of games, I haven't even gotten close to beating Benett Foddy's Getting Over It. But the steepness of the learning curve and the overall lack of control in the controls was just so overwhelming that I couldn't even make it out of the starting area before feeling like my brain was fried (like egg). Every single aspect of movement just feels so intentionally obtuse that the possibility of ever being able to fluently string the controls together.

The strangeness is there, the atmosphere is there, the movement, while completely inaccessible to me personally, seems interesting. The one coherent thought I could form in the chaos of struggling with the controls was "I wish I had a more reliable way of shortening/lengthening the arms." and just generally wishing there weren't so many different unreliable movement methods to juggle at the same time, but again, I'm very much out of my element with this. Based on the description, it seems like you've absolutely succeeded at your goal of making a difficult momentum based game. I wish I could've seen more of it, but the short part I *did* see left a very memorable impression, and I'm definitely recommending this to my more masochistic friends. For those who have the requisite neuroplasticity and persistence to get good at these controls this seems like it could be an absolute blast, as for me, I just wanted to leave a comment encouraging y'all to keep making cool stuff :>

I don’t know why I struggled so hard. It was a cute game. Loves the aesthetics. Felt polished and I felt properly rage-baited.

10/10 would recommend.

I didn't complete the game but I see the potential, I beat the 1st level at around 10 minutes, I liked the key mechanic to open doors for the second one but I got lost while carrying a second key I found, I might have missed a corridor or something idk. The music was nice and the tutorial being just one of you talking to me was interesting, maybe subtitles would be nice. (I totaly didn't put the volume very low and barely could hear it by accident! But Im blaming the devs, because if I don't its my fault! jk)

Maybe a way to lead the player to the correct path would be welcome, I dont say yellow paint, but something to indicate that Im going the right way. The first level doesn't have this issue because I think there is only one way. Also some objectes were darker and they blended into the background, I didn't know I could grab onto them until I did by accident.

But I liked it, very skill expressive and Im sure who likes speedrunning might enjoy this way more than me! Its just not my cup of tea. Good job!

The music is absolutely fire, the voice acting is great, and I love the retro aesthetic of the game. Also, it's hard! I keep getting nowhere lol, giving that Getting Over It vibes. Overall, great job on the submission:)

Thank you i appreciate it!!!

This game is actually  awesome. I beat it in around 40 minutes, but ironically half of that was spent on the first level just trying to figure out the controls. I would say they were confusing but near the end they actually started to click and the platforming was pretty fun. I actually like that sort of "learning to ride a bike" feeling so no complaints there. The progression was handled really well and the "contextualization" with the story made each level (including the 3rd) actually feel like a logical progression.

Your voice acting was super fun and was the main reason I kept playing after the first level. The intro to level 2 got me hyped to see the end. The levels each had a distinct (strange?!?!) feel and giving the later levels unique gameplay mechanics helped keep it fresh (the part with the other eggos in level 3 was peak).

If I had any complaints, the music in level 2 got a bit grating after a bit, mostly because it looped too frequently and each "section" wasn't long enough and the constant genre changes built up. All the other songs worked great though and I did like it at first.

This is literally my kind of game, could've been harder. I'm gonna check out your other stuff, Carpal looks pretty cool. Keep up the great work!

Thank you so much for playing, great to hear the feedback! Im glad you enjoyed the game, definitely should have made a more tutorial tutorial but im glad you liked the mechanics once you understood them :] and im glad you liked the story! Good point about the music too, somebody suggested a radio system if this game was longer and I really like that idea.

I think you would really enjoy sabotage city, its free on steam. Its gameplay is pretty different than this but i think you would like it, that games gameplay can be pretty challenging at points and the story is something were really proud of. Thank you for reviewing!

Love the art direction and music

Mechanics too confusing for my smooth egg brain

Developer

Thats totally fair its definitely hard to get into i get that.

The pixel-art is really nice and the music is phenomenal but the mechanics are just way too confusing

Submitted(+1)

i can see the vision and enthusiasm, but movement is too confusing, so 7/10 - Egg-slop, egg-like, egg-lite AA indie game. 67 pipl

Developer

0/10 review literally gave respectful criticism. Be more mean.

Okay but for real yeah thats fair the gameplay could have used a better tutorial I understand 100%

Very interesting vibe in this game, I found the controls very unintuitive and I'd argue the character is not very momentum based with a little more work on the game feel this would shape up really well

Developer

Totally get that! I think a better tutorial and some more game testing to make the macanics more easy to get ahold of and master this could definitely make this game better if we decided to do that one day. thank you for the review!

The controls are a pretty hard to learn but original, the music is great and I like to explore worlds, hopefully I'll be able to reach the one with the cat like in the screenshot

Developer(+1)

If you want to you can also skip to the levels by using freeplay on the main menu! :) The owner of the cat wanted to say that he thinks you are pretty smart for liking the cat.

"WARNING: This game is kinda hard to learn at first" <-- that is an understatement!  ;-)

I'll try again, looks very strange and interesting though.
