I had to play a second time to figure out how to beat the mischievous eyes hahaha. Good work :)

Simple concept, but pretty well done! i wish while the lantern was open it had an area of light around us, to keep the goop ghosts down longer, or, that the ghosts had some kind of downed state once you shined hte light on them for long enough. Right now the last level feels a bit like a crapshoot if you can get past, and there isn't really a way to get past the ghosts consistently without getting hit.

Great showing tho guys, thanks for letting us play it c:

Nice and simple mechanics, was a bit unexpected with the new enemy appeared. Sometimes it was impossible to not take a damage, but it wasn't so challenging.

Nailed the creepy music and I enjoyed how eyeballs changed up the strategy for passing through safely. Thought it made it a lot of fun to balance shining the light to stop ghosts and turning it off before the eyeball catches up. Good work!

The music adds a lot to the atmosphere. Overall a great game!

A short and well made game. The art is really good, especially the character sprite and cover art. The mechanic is nice and clear from the first level. You could have added lantern fuel or something as a parameter to introduce more depth in the gameplay. Enemies often damage player when they phase through, so that could be polished as well. Overall good job!

Loved the lantern thumbnail art! Hooked me right in.

I loved the eyeballs, so creepy.

Ah thank you! Thanks for playing!

I liked the art and the theme quite a bit, just wasn't sure what I had to do to destroy the ghosts. I would freeze them with the light from torch and then overhead light, then would walk through em. But would take damage as soon as I turned my back.

Glad the vibe had an effect! Thanks for the feedback! I’ve heard this from others also: I can see how both the ghosts and the objective can be confusing. (The goal was just get to the end of the levels)

Cool idea, like the art and the overall atmosphere, it’s a solid submission! If you allow some minor feedback for the next iteration, I noticed that I still take damage when I pass by the monsters (not sure if this is intentional), so I eventually will die at some point. The head lights did not have any effect on the monsters for me. Also, I think if the torch has some kind of cooldown (maybe a new candle or so) would also be nice to add more tension. But as mentioned, solid submission!

Thank you! And thanks for the feedback! I agree it’s certainly inconsistent that the overhead lights don’t have any effects: I really did not think of that haha! I also like the idea of a cooldown or consumable aspect to the torch That could certainly add some more tension
