Amazing work!! This is the first platformer I've played from this jam thus far, and overall it was a really fun experience! The controls had a bit of a learning curve at first, but once I learned to boost upwards with the gun it was smooth sailing from there! It sort of reminds me of the skill curve of learning how to consistently down-pogo in Hollow Knight.
good game but the controls are kinda hard atleast the walking
The musiiiic waow ! The juice of shooting is also very great ! I would recommend to increase the amplitude of movements from shooting and to make the timer more visible. Very very good game, nice job !
For anyone who is struggling I'm going to post a full walkthrough of the game soon! hope that helps!
Great use of the rocket jump mechanic, the game is very juicy and dynamic (until you try to fly through the spikes), but it’s a bit too difficult in my opinion. You don't have enough time to finish the whole map in just one minute. For a 3-day jam, this is very cool.
Thanks for the feedback, I do think this mechanic would've worked better in a longer game, just because for a short mini game it's hard to learn a mechanic like that. And yeah, I definitely did make it too difficult.
Very polished, cute and fun! I would've played it more if not for the controls.
Nice game jam entry you have here!
I like the recoil for movement enhancement as game mechanic. Later in the game, where you have spikes everywhere, I fail to execute the necessary key presses on time though .... my finger just won't do it =)
What about diagonal shots? Maybe this could help with all the situations where you would want to move left/right AND keep in the air/jump.
Your first complete game? Wow. I had fun with it!
Thanks for the feedback, again I’ve only been on Unity for 4 months so this is all super helpful. Diagonal shots is a great idea and a lot of people have been struggling with the controls, thx for the feedback!
I liked the gun recoil being a movement option and a weapon aswell.
I've heard this is your first game, but here's some feedback:
Movement & controls are kinda weird & slippery, make movement tighter, also the shoot button being F feels odd.
Took me awhile to figure out how to enter the door (apparently it's up arrow key) but it should be shown / displayed,
And yeah, for a first game this is pretty good.
I can't figure out how to go through the door. Let me know and I will finish!
Sorry about this, it seems to be a problem that several people have had, it’s up arrow. I completely forgot to add the text box explaining that!
I don't know if I beat it or if it glitched and I fell through the universe, but it was very fun!
I heard this was your first complete game! Congratulations! It looks great and the sounds are very satisfying. Movement is a bit slidy, like you're playing on ice. The gun is very hard to use while moving, which the level design seems to indicate you should be doing. My personal recommendation would be to remove the F/Shoot key entirely, and make a press of the arrow keys shoot the gun in that respective direction. I feel like this would make it a lot more snappy! I didn't manage to beat it in the 1:00, but I got to the third level, and overall it felt pretty clean aside from what I stated above. Good job!
thanks for the feedback, the idea about removing the f key is actually a great point. It just came naturally to me from playing hollow knight on pc
Gameplay is simple but I liked launching myself around with the recoil of the gun (which blew my ears up with its volume lol). The timer makes it hard to progress, so I didn't finish. I didn't know what's coming up or where to go. It also felt weird to have jump on W instead of Space Bar. I made it pretty far though. I loved the drums coming in when you get the banana gun. Made it very intense. As a first game this ain't bad!
Thanks for the post, this was the first complete game I ever made, I do struggle with making the difficulty....
Also if you could rate it that would be great!
I wish I could rate it, but since I didn't submit a game in time I can't.
