  • Right off the bat, incredible title screen
  • The yeehaw feature is excellent
  • Very satisfying revolver reload visuals
  • Very nice parallax background, and I like the gradient on the sky
  • The helicopter seems to invariably be the end of me, have had a few runs end via it

Really pretty and polished!

Developer

Thank you very much, very happy you enjoyed it! The helicopter enemy is definitely a little harsh at first, I probably could've made it throw bombs a bit less frequently. Though it is also kind of the "endgame", there's no other enemy types after it. If you manage to kill it another will soon spawn, along with lawmen, along with shorter intervals for obstacles, etc., so I'm fairly certain everyone will eventually meet their demise.

Thanks again for your kind words!

Can yee, can haw, 10/10 no notes.

So much attention to detail here. The way the horse running is in sync with the beat of the music, the feel of the movement, the enemies, the juice in the UI. It’s just great. I love it!

Well done!

Hi i forgot that in my last review, but maybe you should look into that free service here:
https://silentwolf.com/
There you can create online highscores for godot games. I did it a few times before, it is very easy to implement.
And I think it would fit your game very well to have some "competition" of who can get the highest bounty score.

Hey, much appreciated! You're right, would've been perfect here, and a great incentive to go another round. Never done something like that before and it just didn't occur to me during the week, but I'm going to look into it rightaway! Thanks for sharing!

Impressively polished! The intro animation, popups, and the gun reload really make this feel like a full game. I also like how the UI wraps around the game to frame it! Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot, more time for polish was definitely a focus of this jam for me, glad you enjoyed!

Knew I was in for a great time when I saw I could yee haw for no other reason then to express my joy haha. Overall the game is great and I really really liked the slide mechanic. Needing a bit of momentum to complete the slide under cacti added so much depth. Especially when you're juggling that with a shootout. Amazing work!

Developer(+1)

Much appreciated! So glad the yeehaw button is well received :D Very happy you enjoyed the movement too, I'm always a little worried whether things like that will feel "right" to other players, or if I've just gotten used to it. Thanks again!

Many wonderful things in the game. The opening is original and the YEE HAW mechanics is very fun. The kind of game you keep playing until you realize you have spent over one hour on it.

Developer

Thanks so much for playing, and your kind words :) Very glad you had a good run with it, great score!

All around well done. It's really fun to play. The six-shooter reload is so juicy. The controls feel so right.
