Great puzzle game. Took me a few to get a bug but I finally got a few after playing a couple times. Great job
Fun game. finished with score 862. nice music, sound effects, and visuals. gg!
Really fun little game, love the art and music. Fits with the theme well and is quite addicting. Nice work!
This was fun! I enjoyed the theme. I was glad I ended up getting more turns which I think picked up after level 4. Because only being to have like 10 turns, I was like... ehhhh. I don't know if I can make a proper enclosure. I'm not really sure how the deck worked as far as the cards going into your hand. I don't have much experience with card deck mechanics so I just used what I was given in each hand and never seemed to have the need to discard anything, in addition to the upgrades or cards I purchased. I am not sure how many cards were even in the deck or what type of cards there were even possible. There were some interesting cards types that were super effective against certain bug types, so that was nice. Some of the time I was not sure how the special card effect plays were going to alter the board or effect the bugs but I just threw them down to close in the space. And making enclosures feels increasingly more easy toward the end of the game versus it feeling more difficult in the beginning levels. It's like the game starts off difficult and ramps up to super easy? But this may have been because I was exiling bugs pretty much with my special cards, but also the allowance of the number of turns having increased made me feel like I wasn't going to lose, to the point where I could just play cards and eventually win. Also the fact that enemies spawned into my enclosure escalated the pace of the game to where I would be passing waves without needing to do anything because I had enclosures spread out in ways that just erased waves as the entered. This also may have contributed to what felt too easy.
I think the volume is a little loud, it could use a volume slider. Even though the audio track is repetitive, I still enjoyed it. Maybe consider adding rotating audio tracks? I scored 1487 by the end of that 10th Wave. During my time playing, I was not concerned about the points, I just wanted to kill the bugs XD
I overall liked the game though. I think it would be more interesting if you added some visual effects, like animating the transition of the bugs into their new grid positions. They just pop in and out where they need, which is fine. But providing a visual impact this way would go far to enhance your project since there seems to be a minimal amount of opportunities where you could do so. Also when the Web slaps down on the board, would be a good time for a visual impact, I could see a particle effect playing there.
I would come back to visit this game to see any upgrades and or enhancements get added : )
Add more bugs, it needs a Centipede!! lol... I don't know why I chose a centipede D: forgive me!! D:
Good Game
Saving this one to come back to later! Wow, well done. My 5 year old really likes bugs and got super into this one!
Took me a bit, but finally got it and it was fun. Maybe some easier levels that are prefilled.
It took a bit for me to understand that I couldn't use the outer edge for trapping, but once the concept clicked it went pretty smooth. I'm not sure if I understand the incentive for buying more regular shapes in the shop, given that you never seem to run out and it would just reduce your deck's consistency. Some of the shapes are certainly worth adding to the deck, but I kept passing on the normal stuff and kept winning.
In any case, this is creative and I like the music! Nice work!
great little game took about 3 try's before I got it and then 30mins of gameplay passed by, catchy tunes very fun mechanic.
damm, this was super fun! It does feel like some starting boards screw you from the get-go, but overall pretty good. does not feel like a 2 week jam game at all, the polish is very nice.
What an excellent game, took me a couple of goes to figure out the right approach to segmenting the board. Really well made and polished with jam game. Only suggestion would be to let players start from the highest level achieved. Restarting from scratch can be quite frustrating. Otherwise superb!
Great game! The music is great and the mechanic is unique. Fun little game to play while taking a break!
UI and sounds are pretty solid, especialy enjoy the boppin' music. I wish the player is given a few extra moves after each wave. Overall, still a pretty fun puzzler.
Thanks for the feedback! The idea of giving the player a few extra moves after each wave is actually a really interesting suggestion. It could add more flexibility and create new strategic options depending on how it’s tuned. I’ll definitely keep that in mind. Thanks again for playing and sharing your thoughts!
Great UI! Loved it, nice take on theme!
Thank you so much! I’m really glad you liked the UI and my take on the theme. Thanks for playing!
yakuza ahh dead sound
This doesn't feel like a game jam game but a completed one.I genuinely had fun playing it.You can take this game and upload it on Android/iOS and it will do just fine since smartphone users are casual gamers and will play it in their leisure time
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that, it means a lot 😄 I’m glad it felt more like a complete game and that you had fun playing it. Mobile is actually something I’ve been thinking about, so hearing this kind of feedback is really motivating. Thanks again for playing and for the kind words!
Interesting concept played it for a few levels it was pretty difficult to do the second wave most times with the turn not being reset. Otherwise enjoyed the audio, art and gameplay.
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the audio, art, and gameplay overall 😄 The difficulty in the second wave is a good point. The “no turn reset” pressure was intentional to keep tension, but I understand it can make things feel quite punishing at times. Really appreciate you taking the time to play and share your thoughts!
I enjoy the mechanics quite a bit, reminds me of Into The Breach.
I would have liked to see indications of where the bugs would have go the next turn. If that's not part of the intended mechanics, then highlight the squares where they could go into is sufficient and would have been a nice QoL feature. That and the outer ring having a different color could also be appreciated.
The "too big an enclosure" is also a bit of a gotcha moment, and indicators for that scenario would also been nice.
Would have liked more juice on the UI to make it feels nicer to play, but it's less of an issue than some other jam games I've played so far.
Overall, not bad a game. Good job!
Thank you so much for the detailed feedback! I really appreciate you taking the time to break it down.
You’re absolutely right about the outer ring, that’s something I should make clearer.
For the bug movement, leaving that information for the player to track was actually a deliberate choice. I wanted the player to stay more engaged and play a bit more strategically rather than relying on full prediction indicators.
For the “too big enclosure” situation, my intention was to encourage a more instinctive playstyle, where you sometimes commit based on feel rather than certainty. I also wanted those unexpected moments to create a bit of surprise and hopefully encourage another run. That said, I really appreciate the feedback here. There might definitely be a better way to communicate that without removing the tension.
On the UI side, I agree with your point as well. I would have liked to add more juice and polish, but I simply didn’t have enough time during the jam.
Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback, it’s really helpful!
Amazing game. Originality+retro gaming. Amazing concept. Great art. Nice music. Challenging. Release that game. I approve it.
Thank you so much! I’m really glad you enjoyed the concept, art, music, and challenge. Hearing that kind of feedback really means a lot. And “I approve it” made me smile 😄 Thanks again for playing!
Nice game! I liked the catchy music and it was fun trying to get those bugs surrounded. Graphics were clear and well drawn. Bonus for clear and good looking page for the game.
Thanks for the game!
Thank you so much! I’m really happy you enjoyed the music and had fun trying to surround the bugs 😄 I also appreciate the feedback on the visuals and the game page. I wanted everything to be as clear and readable as possible, so it’s great to hear that came across well. Thanks again for playing!
