The Game Over at the end of level 8 was so abrupt I didn't think to record my score. Actually I was wondering if I'd somehow done something wrong, despite having just linked the last two pictures. Judging from the youtube video that's just how it goes!

I like the sound effects, including that you can sweep the mouse back and forth over a dot to get a bunch of different tones.

The visuals are clean, not so sure about the choice of images in a couple instances (the face with green... slime...?)

Also not sure if the dots appear in the same order each time (except with increasing numbers of pictures) and I'm meant to track them at the start and recall that. If so, I didn't! I guessed pretty well. I know the first dot is always the heart, so it stands to reason they do go in a specified order, but that's beyond my ability to watch and retain.

Thanks for playing!

I didn't have enough time to fix the level end and Game over screens , there should have been a pause to finish FX then pop up the screens. And Game over should have been You Win... dumb mistake on my part :D

The images all have cards associated with them - they make a whole lot more sense  in that context. I had to drop that part due to time. The idea was to add in bonuses and cheats as the amount of matches becomes unmanageable. The green slime (Bad Breath) reveals a few icons within it's range :D

I think the dots do appear in the same order,  just in different spots. Not intentional, but I knew it was happening. Will be a fix later, I think I'll push this project to what I had invisioned.

Thanks again for the detailed review, very helpful!

I thought my memory was doing pretty well until Level 8, then it all fell apart 😅 I liked the juicy effects of a successful match, you display a good understanding of color.

I know, I dred getting to 8! I was going to post a video, but I had such a poor showing I deleted it :D

I didn't have any issues with the windows download version.

Really fun game to play, so simple but the sound element elevates it. Managed to get to level 8 with 280 score.

Oh, and I also enjoyed the visuals as well. Great submission!

Developer

Thanks a lot for trying it out! And thanks for the windows feedback, glad it's working. I suck at my own game, I think my highest was 240 :D Oh, that reminds me, I need to change the screenshot - that's an embarrassing as heck 160...

Nice game and nice idea.

Great game, you did a fantastic job.

Keep it up.

unfortunately, Smart Apps blocks the app when I try to start it on Windows 11. That didn't happen to the other downloadable games I tried so far - but not sure if you can do anything about it.

Developer

I'm sorry to hear that! Only thing I can suggest is to unblock it, as I have no way to test atm. Right click the .exe, go to properties and uncheck the scary looking message. (trust me, it's even worse on mac :D). No idea why it would just be my app, this is a straight up Godot export. I'll make sure to have my PC back up and running by next jam, this has been frustrating. No joke, my cat threw up on it and fried it. $12k doorstop right now.

Thank you very much for at least trying, I hope you get it to work!

don't know, if you did anything, or if a windows update made the security relax a little, but it did work now. head a pretty decent run , including finishing Level 8 when it suddenly said "GAME OVER" which I hope means "Game Over because you finished the game and you are the cool guy now"?

Developer

lol - you are DEFINITELY the cool guy now!  :D Thanks a ton for trying again. I didn't have enough time to add in a proper level end and Win end. There should be a pause and SFX/FX before those dialogs come up. Code is there, just didn't have time to implement it. Stupid me I should have written YOU WIN instead of GAME OVER at least.

I really love the clean colorful look, reminds me a bit of mini metro and similar looking games.  I played on Windows and didn't have any issues, really enjoyed playing!

Developer

Thank you very much for playing! I had fun making it. Glad you didn't have issues.

It's a very pleasing matching game, and I absolutely love the aesthetic. The ambient plucks the symbols make and their random pitch is super satisfying to here. My only complaint is that the background music doesn't really match the plucks. Otherwise, this was a very lovely game to play.

Developer

Thanks you very much! I had planned to write a different piece on the last day, but got stuck fighting bugs. Thanks again for playing.

The game was excellent! Had fun, I didn't get any music of SFX.

Thanks for the play

It seems like the audio is very low on PC, I will try a patch shortly. Glad you liked it, thanks for the feedback!

Developer(+1)

Added Music + SFX sliders, should be better now. Thanks again for trying it out!

I just realized you played it on your YT channel, thanks a ton! Sorry about the full screen thing - forgot to set the options to windowed. Was great watching you play. Too bad about the audio, it's actually pretty good :D

Nice Game. Sadly the sound did not work for me at all. Neither music nor sfx.

Ok sound was just super silent for me on Windows.

Developer

Thanks! Maybe I adjusted it down too much? I'll try to patch. Thanks again for playing and for the feedback.

Added Music + SFX sliders, should be better now. Thanks again for trying it out!

Okay, first of all - I love the whole “memory + sound-based gameplay” combo, that’s such a cool idea! It took me a second to fully understand what I needed to do, but once I got into the flow it became really fun. The only thing that felt a bit off to me was that the soundtrack volume can get a little too high at times, which made some of the specific sound cues harder to hear. Another thing that came to mind while playing is that I couldn’t replay the selected “node,” so if I didn’t remember it exactly I had to start guessing a bit. Not sure if that’s intentional though. Other than that, great game!

Saved it for another playthrough later on

Thanks for the feedback, and thanks again for testing the PC build. I adjusted the audio last minute, so latest build should be better. I just ran out of time to make  separate Music and SFX busses. There are a few other things I'd like to add, so I'll probably update after the jam.
