Extremely solid game and funny connection to the theme. Thanks for the game.

This is one of the best submissions I've ever played! I love how overall cohesive the game is. Never thought I would ever see the "punching someone's face" as a connection!

Great game, awesome music and SFX. Great concept.

The blocking feels perfectly satisfying, and it's fun pulling off the sequences correctly!

However, I feel like I got a bug that essentially breaks the game? At first I would be offered images that were among the offered choices, i.e. I have a banana, and one of the choices is banana, cool. But after knocking out the gorilla for the first time, that changed, and I'd have a banana or a coconut and it WOULDN'T be among the options offered to me. Is this intentional? What am I supposed to pick? I ended up picking randomly and sometimes it would be right, but it felt like a graphics misalignment.

I also experienced some confusion with the WASD popups, though I understand the way that works is a little tricky to explain and it got more fun once I figured it out.

Anyway, nice work!

Fun jam game!  Music was great and fit the game well.  Nice job.

Nice job, the mechanics take a bit of time to understand and get used to especially because the simon says WASD icons for defence and offense are the same.

Figuring out what cards are the correct response is a huge amount of trial and error, especially when it starts becoming text based O.o

Certainly interesting mechanics and a neat twist on the simon says formula :D

It reminds me of one of those color matching games with a punchout style.

Thank you for checking out my game, but Ai is basically a death sentence to our environment, so due to my stance on Ai usage I’m not gonna vote on your title. Please consider submitting your tutorial made game instead next time and research the impact of Ai on the world. I understand how easy it is to make stuff with Ai & how miniscule own effort can seem in comparison, but there’s no need to resort to using it especially when you just start learning things. Currently it is heavily unregulated and legit evil for nature in general and also people living next to data centers. Please take your time to learn about the impact you yourself are making.

It's a really nice visual way to dress up a memory game. With the music and visuals, it ramps up the difficulty something wicked! Nicely done.

very impressive beautiful game! gg

Wow! I have so many thoughts! First off, this is such a creative take on a “Simon Says” style memory game. The fact that there was a character pose for every button tap (or mistap) made the whole thing feel super polished. And you nailed the aesthetics. I genuinely felt like I was back in my childhood bedroom playing SNES.

The only thing I didn’t like about the game is that I absolutely sucked at it, which raises some uncomfortable questions about my memory skills in general.

Congrats on your first game! Very impressive whether you used AI or not. If I had to give one pointer it would be to have some sort of tutorial as it took multiple runs for me to understand the mechanics. But good job, a nice example of what can be done when thought is put into how AI is used.

Interesting concept. The 2nd opponent was perhaps too much for me to divide attention to with the text reading whilst playing Simons Says. It's a fairly unique game

Fun game, Simon says type repeating is fun. Aesthetically it sounds and feels like a fully realised old arcade game, shame it was done with AI tho. But your a 1 person team, so it plays and looks incredible for that! Kudos!

I'm not going to judge the extensive use of AI tools, but I like that you were totally honest with it.

The game itself is interesting. The graphics are nice and consistent, the choice of music is matching the SNES Punch-Out ambience well. Having to concentrate both on the incoming attacks and on how to attack is disturbing at the beginning, but once it's clear, playing can be more fluid.

On another hand, I don't see the link with the theme, unless it's "connecting my fist to your jaw". ;-)

There are some problems, though:

- I have a French keyboard, and W and A are not on the same location as on a QWERTY keyboard. So the controls are less intuitive. You should have remapped the actions to the physical keys (but does ChatGPT even know that ?). "Luckily", the default actions are also bound to the controller, but having one hand on the controller and the other on the keyboard, no thanks.

- I stopped playing against the woman because she speaks. Even if I have a pretty good understanding of English, I'm not a native speaker, so it takes me too long to read both what she says and what I can answer, I'm getting punched. If this game ever goes on, it would need to be localized.

As a "laboratory test", it ends up quite good. But globally speaking, AI should not do everything.

Developer

Thanks!  I hadn't even considered the kind of issues localization would be involved with.  This is super good info for me when making games moving forward, especially regarding the keys.  I appreciate the feedback!

I liked the art quite a bit. I did't really get the first time around, but my second pass was much better. Nice work!

Sometimes the matches were a little confusing, but this was otherwise well though out. The rounds feel a little long for a jam game, but the Simon says fighting part felt nice!

Submitted(+1)

Great graphics and music. I felt there wasn'[t enough time is the second round to read the cards to pick the best answer though.

Graphics and SFX are top notch. The gameplay is very addicting. Fantastic game!

I enjoyed playing this. The mechanic was well thought out and executed.
