Very Cool! It all really came together. I like the unique mechanic of the tongue and the moving of the head with the mouse. Super Creative! Music and in game sounds work perfect with the game.

Really cool entry, this is a creative interpretation of the theme and I enjoyed it a lot. I’m pretty impressed by how well the tongue latching mechanic works, I feel like that must not have been easy to get so consistent. The last level was quite tricky with the timings but I managed to beat it in the end, I think the difficulty was good for a concluding level. Sound design was also very well done.

Good idea and good looking game... well done!

that was really fun, nice level of polish for solo in 10 days!

Great mechanic, lot of fun and well polished. Would be nice if you got an indication when you were in range for a grab. But really good job.

I absolutely love the Chameleon mechanic, very cool idea! :D This is a brilliant example of how a strong core mechanic can create a wide variety of fun gameplay opportunities. The snakes genuinely caught me off guard when they grabbed me as I walked past :D haha.

I also really like the graphic style and the smooth controls. One small touch that could add even more atmosphere would be some subtle background music layered over the ambient sound effects you already have.

Overall though, I absolutely love this  game. I reached the end and was genuinely disappointed when the fun stopped, lol :p

Excellent work with this game though. I can imagine so many possibilities for expanding this concept, like differently themed levels, more challenging obstacles (for example moving platforms where you have to carefully time your tongue shots), different types of enemies, and player abilities such as speed boosts or shields etc.

Thank you for the feedback. I started off having music during the levels but it didn't quite seem to fit so I replaced it with the ambient sounds instead. Perhaps I just didn't have the right song.

It's a really solid game you have right there :D it's always tricky to match the mood of a level with music, but maybe something like this would go well:

This would also compliment the ambient effects you have going off in the background and add more life to your level :) This is just a minor opinion though and like I say, you already have a great game right there so great work!

I appreciate you taking the time to come back with a suggestion. Something like that could work, I will keep it in mind.

Amazing idea! I instantly loved the concept of moving around with tongue grappling.

I promise I pushed every button many times, but I still somehow didn't manage to intuitively learn that I could flip upside down until reading the comments here.

The snakes are a tough challenge in the final level, but not insurmountable. I liked the title music, it would have been nice to have some for the levels themselves. The sound effect of the tongue is perfect, as is the musical sting of becoming snake food.

This was awesome!  Fun, you nailed it!  I don't see much of the theme in the game but this is a solid entry.  SfX for the chameleon steps is great.  Well done.

If this jam had criteria for originality, you’d rank pretty highly.

Very smooth climbing. And the Footsteps, perfect!

That was kinda fun, never seen anything similar. Good Job

I love the game idea and simple to pick up and play

Love the footstep sound. Some of the snakes are so fast though

Nice execution on a simple and intuitive concept! As someone else mentioned, I didn't initially realize the chameleon could flip upside down, but I did eventually figure that out without much time spent. Nice work overall!

Nice game, simple in concept and very fun

I loved the gimmick of using the chameleon's tongue as a grappling hook, but even more, I loved the level design. First, it teaches you to go up, then it teaches you to hang from a branch, then it teaches you how slope affects your tongue firing arc, all without saying a word.

Two tongues up! 🦎🦎

Cool idea :D

I really liked the snake enemies. They looked so cute but jumpscared me when they ate the chameleon xD
They posed a great challenge. Especially in the last level!

My feedback would be:
Maybe it could've been communicated better that the chameleon can walk on the other side of the twigs aswell? As it is kind of crucial for the game and I only found it out after mashing buttons xD

Also small bug report:
When I tried to restart the game via home the camera got buggy :/

Thank you for the feedback and the bug report.

Fun and cute game. I like the sound of the chameleon's footsteps, and the controls are very easy to follow. I wasn't sure if I was going the right way, and I got stuck because I couldn't figure out how to go to reach the tree branch below, and I had to start over. Great job overall!

Simple and fun. I couldn't finish it right now cause I am playing with a mousepad. I'll try to come back :)

Made it to level 4! With art like that, I couldn't stop myself from playing. I LOVE how goofy the chameleon is and the entire game was just a masterpiece. Genuinely AWESOME and so much fun. Also your rainfrog logo is equally awesome. If you hadn't figured it out already, I'm a huge fan of silly little animals and this is exactly the game I was looking for. You should try for a full release, maybe on CrazyGames or something like that! If you tune up the background and add a main menu I think it's basically there.
