This reminds me of the old Arknoid game I liked to play.  Overall the game is pretty smooth.  It would be nice to control the ball a little more based on where it hits the paddle, and to play additional levels.  Overall a solid game.

Thank you for the game!

This reminded me of childhood playing games like this!  For me, the ball got stuck bouncing back and forth with very little angle at times, although I was able to change the direction by catching it with the very end of the paddle, if it trapped by the wall you were stuck.  I'd have preferred a little more control generally with the paddle.
Lower difficulties didn't really show the mechanic of damage to neighbouring blocks, but it was good to see them cracking on the hardest difficulty.  I like the mechanic, good job overall!

Developer

Thanks for the feedbacks. I guess the balancing still needs a little bit of work. Thanks for playing it!

This was really good. Very impressive for a week of work!

Developer

Thanks! Glad that you enjoyed it!

Well done on getting this to submission.

keep up the progress and add more of your own twists in later projects

In addition to what has been said so far, I though the paddle a nudge too small. I didn't find any bugs or calculation errors. Congrats on the entry!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and for trying out my game!

I initally played on medium difficulty and didn't understand the description. In that difficulty seems that you always one-shot the blocks. Playing on nightmare actually worked as intended (I guess).

Quote on the others to add a bit more depth on the game.
Took me to when I was a child playing these games, thank you.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. I guess I will need to work a little more on the balancing side of the game.

Good job! VFX and theme were well executed. Agree with others on adding variation or control ability to the paddle.

Developer

Thanks for playing and your feedback. I am currently working on the variation. I am glad that you enjoyed the game regardless.

Pretty good Breakout-like game. The mechanic of blocks close to the one you hit getting hit as well is good. I found a bug where if you quit to the menu, it plays the music again without stopping the first instance of music, so you can get multiple versions of the same song playing at one. Good job!

Developer

Thank you for playing and letting me know about the bug. Will update the game with alll the bugs fixed soon.

Awesome game! I used to love playing games like this back in the day.

Small bug with the pause menu in game, the UI overlaps the panel a little but that's the only minor thing. everything else is great :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your feedback. I am very happy that you enjoyed the game, despite the bug present. It will be fixed as soon as possible.

Aesthetically, this looks great.

One piece of feedback: when the ball hits the paddle, it always reflects at an equal and opposite angle. Because of this, the player has very little control over the ball’s direction.

I’d recommend making the bounce angle relative to the point of impact on the paddle. For example, if the ball hits the left side of the paddle, it should deflect left, and if it hits the right side, it should deflect right. You could also introduce a center threshold where hits produce a more neutral reflection. This would give the player more agency and make the gameplay feel more skill-based and responsive.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. I agree that I need to work on balancing this aspect of the game. Thank you for playing it anyway.

I got stuck on a wall as well, but otherwise nice game!

Thanks! Will update the game as soon as the voting ends!

I like the aesthetics of the game, unfortunately I got softlocked

Developer

Apologies for this issue. It will be fixed very soon. Thanks for playing my game.

You are totally an excellent programmer! While the idea is really simple, you tried to get everything you can out of it. Maybe working with other people can greatly increase the quality of your games.

Developer

Thank you for your amazing feedback! I do agree that I should try with a team the next time.

Cute idea for a breakout clone but one major issue ive run into twice is that if the ball goes up vertical against the walls it can just get stuck only going up and down. I tried using momentum to move it sideways but didn't work

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback. I will need to work on it once the voting ends. I am happy that you enjoyed it.

Good breakout clone. I felt like I was killing the bricks in one shot every time. I did think it was kinda neat that when the breaks fell, they would interact with my paddle thing.

A very nice looking breakout clone, Might need a bit more angular velocity on some of the walls, the ball got stuck going back and forth horizontally for a long time with a very minor angle before finally hitting a brick and changing direction. I like what you did with the falling blocks and colors.

Developer

Thank you for pointing it out. I am glad that you've enjoyed it.

Unfortunately, I had the ball get stuck near the end, but you've done a good job, thank you.

Thank you for playing and your feedback. I plan to work on it once the voting period ends.
