Link your game below, and shoot any specific areas you want feedback on.
If you're bored you can give this a try https://rotationaljustice.itch.io/trial-by-rotation I'm still polishing audio and trying to get in some stretch goals. Any major bugs? Anything I really need to try to fit in? Thanks for the offer =)
hahah okay, so the first time it loaded, the voice reading the text didnt happen until like me reading the text for 15 seconds, so it gave me a jump scare, but i love the voice lines. the weapon wheel its pretty straight forward and it feels nice. The only thing for me was once i spawn to start playing, there was no indicator that i can shoot or move around, at least it wasnt fully clear to me, and then with the background image it felt hard to see where things are cuz too many things happening plus the background image. And sometimes i got spawn kicked by those rotators xD very fun experience, after playing 5-6 rounds i managed to get the hang of it and be decent at getting rid of the plantifs like 60% of the time.
Thanks for the input! I can't make it play audio until you activate the window. Until you interact it has to wait sadly. I've updated the objects near the player spawn so they no longer kick like that, but changes aren't out yet. Any suggestions on how to make it more clear how to shoot and move beyond the opening instructions?
Edit: I added it to the description of the game below the game too. Maybe it'll help?
i think i would add it center on the screen as UI saying WASD to move, Left Mouse Button to shoot, and have it fade away in 3 seconds, which can be your countdown for the thing starting, so that way it doesnt instantly start, but you have 3 seconds mentally to prepare plus to let them know they can move and shoot
Sure thing. Btw i also just submitted my game, would you mind giving me any feedback?

I'm having trouble running it. I will try again when it's not quite 3am and I have 2 brain cells to rub together. I like your art. It looks like you went a similar route to me with a top battler. Good luck Damian!
So, with only 2 braincells, this morning I'm still having trouble running. I get "The application was unable to start correctly (0x0000005)".
Hello!
https://ruben-velasquez.itch.io/wheels-and-kingdoms
I'm seeing what could I improve of the progression in the game. Thank you so much!
Okay, so first of all, absolutely amazing game. Love the art, love the gameplay loop. Not sure what the rules on music are cuz i youre using what sounds like a minecraft song, but it fits very well. Now in terms of thoughts that came to mind as i played it:
1. Wasnt exactly sure how everything works. For example houses gave population, thats what it says next to the item, however the more houses i have the more coins i got as well. I assumed thats how it works but it wasnt clear.
2. I believe at round 10 and 20 you added a 2nd and a third portion getting deleted for balancing purposes, and while the 2nd portion did balance it since with only one deleter i wouldnt have place to put my buildings, adding the third one made me regress and lose progress which was demotivating. I am not sure if the game intent is to "kill you" in every scenario and to see how long you can survive before losing your entire kingdom, but yeah.
3. Late game progression. I loved the challenge you had. I would actually make it so that each building is unlockable through the challenges. Start with only huts, and reach 10 pop to unlock next building, have good happiness for 2 rounds in a row to unlock next building etc. Also i am not sure if its true, but i couldnt seem to spot a "win" mechanic, like is there any way that i can build my kingdom good so that i win the game?
Thats all. LOVED the game, and i think the things above would make it even more addicting. Im not sure if there is time for it during this jam since theres less than a day, but if you keep working on it to make a full release, i would suggest looking into those.
Sure thing. Btw i also just submitted my game, would you mind giving me any feedback?

Okay, so i loved the voicelines and the overall idea. With a bit of polish and a visual rehaul you could turn this into a full game.
Here are some of my thoughts as I was playing the game:
1. I wish the picker was on the right or left side, so i can more easily read what was picked. Having it vertical makes me rotate my head in order to read it. Also i wish it would give me 2 more seconds to read it.
2. Movement made it almost impossible to reach some platforms. Even with normal gravity i couldnt reach most places so i kept falling and dying. If movement was fine for you, then maybe you didnt do it with delta time, which makes pretty much everyone have different gravity based on their fps.
3. Sound/voice was distorted when you die probably many events being called so it glitches the sound.
Otherwise wheel options were great, you did so many of them too, so that makes it nearly infinitely replayable while still having fun.
this is great feedback! To address your feedback:
1. I’ll definitely add that I noticed it while making the game but never changed it.
2. I the level was really rushed so I didn’t exactly play test it with all the modifiers, I’m sorry for that, and everything should be in delta time unless I forgot some where.
3. The audio is just like that, I decided to make it sound like a voice call but that’s the only voice line like that.
Sure thing. Btw i also just submitted my game, would you mind giving me any feedback?

Hii, we want you to tell us about your experience with the game, mainly the gameplay, whether it's fun and how the theme is applied in the game. Here is the link: https://strandedskeleton.itch.io/theofih
Okay, so the game idea is very fun. I laughed a bunch so that is great. Music and sound is nice, and the games are perfect. Very little notes on what can be changed. The only thing i noticed is that the time was a bit short so by the time i realized what i need to do half the timer was gone. Maybe make it so the timer doesnt start until the first action you do in that mini-game. And for some games it made it impossible to win, such as bowing to the boss, the moment i pressed down, the new red spawned right next to the current one so the green reached instantly, didnt give me time to think or even see where it is.
Thats about it. In terms of the theme, i could only see the chair spinning indicating i assume that you spin around your desk to handle all these tasks, however i didnt see it directly implemented into the gameplay, unless i missed it.
Hey! It would be great if you can take a look at mine. https://alainmc98.itch.io/escape-drill
Okay, so it was super hard to figure out what i am doing unless reading the description, which i guess its fine, but usually you want the players to know what is happening within the game itself.
Gameplay loop is fun once i learned it. Going for metals and diamonds, and bouncing up and down from the edges feels veeery satisfying.
One thing that had me confused was why after few times i couldnt charge the drill anymore, so i had to go back then go again. The upgrades felt very expensive, i would say to have something cheap and make them progressively more expensive that way player has feeling of progression even after few drills, rather than haivng to go drilling 15 times before buying an upgrade.
Last thing i would reccomend is to have some sort of visual cues for things. like, if something is clickable, when i hover over it to have some sort of an indicator etc. cuz right now i was clicking and hoping it works.
Thats all. Great game, and super fun to play. Music and sound fit very well.
Sure thing. Btw i also just submitted my game, would you mind giving me any feedback?

hey giver a worly derly https://retro-ritchie.itch.io/serious-stock-bot
Okay, so visually amazing, and the concept is probably one of the best from the games that ive tried. The gameplay as well. 2 major feedback points that would make the game perfect:
1. I had no clue what to do when starting. Finally figured i can pickup boxes(cant figure out how to drop them so i smash myself into a wall or the boss so i can drop it and pick a new one), then i couldnt figure the colors that arent facing the player, since they are facing opposite side, you can only see the color on top until you get very close and then its see through, so that was a bit hard to understand. Maybe have a camera rotating around the room just to show it from all sides before starting?
2. Movement feels delayed. And in a game like this where you have to move, and click on shelves while moving, the movement or the mouse cannot be delayed otherwise it makes it very hard. I have to fully stop in front of the shelf, wait a second so the player catches up, then slowly move the mouse and click, and by then the boss already punched me away.
With those 2 changes, i believe you can turn this into a full game, more than just a game jam game.
hey thanks for trying it out! i really appreciate it im really happy to see you liked it overall!!! If you scroll down a bit on the page the control layout is right there and when you pick up boxes there should be a pop up in the top left corner to hit F to drop. There is also camera rotation with Q and E. You can use sprint and dodge to get away from the boss hits and the shelf stuff is distance based from the player so the player has to be a certain distance from the shelf to place an item by clicking with the mouse. but it is difficult on purpose to be chased and place or pickup items.
edit: Oh! also the wall transparency happens when the player goes behind a wall so you can see the dude lol
Pretty straight forward game, easy to understand. Love the art, love the variety. I think the only feedback i got is the empty space on the top part. I would like to maybe see greyed out version of the cards so i can know what cards the enemy has. That will additionally make me plan my strategy based on what he might use from his cards.
Appreciate the feedback!
Right now the enemy is set to to a range of damage it can do depending on the round.
would love to make the enemy also have a deck of cards with different actions and abilities of its own.
This is something I would like to spend time on and really polish before showing to anyone so I might save that for post game jam!
Thank you very much! :)

Wow, thank you so much for such an amazing review! Hearing that the world feels liminal and the movement feels trippy means so much to me - that's exactly the kind of vibe I was aiming for!
Your kind words seriously make me so happy and give so much more meaning to what I do. I'll keep doing my best and will definitely continue working hard on my future projects.
As for the "spin to win" theme, it's mostly integrated through kiting and running in circles around the enemies, as well as their circular attacks. But yeah, I completely understand that it's pretty far-fetched, I honestly tried though, haha! To be fair, a lot of entries in this jam have a theme that is just as stretched, if not more than mine.
Thanks again for playing and for the awesome feedback!
You're welcome. Very deserved, I hope you do very well in this Jam. And yeah i can see the theme in that way, and youre right, most games have hardly noticable theme implementation so you should be fine on that. I hope to see the final version with maybe some updates or tweaks after the jam is over, based on how it goes.
Thanks again! To be honest, I would really love to expand this game and turn it into a full story-driven experience for a couple of evenings. That’s just a dream for now, of course, but who knows when dreams might become reality. But one thing is for sure - I will definitely get to work on polishing and updating it after the jam. Best of luck to you too!

Would be very helpful to get your insights for my game.

Thank you!
Hello, i get my spinning connect4 game working, there is a lot of work to do so i take everything coming in mind ! https://codesa.itch.io/space-4
very unique twist on connect 4. Honestly the gameplay feels great. It would be better if i could see the limits of the "board" but otherwise its great. The only issue is that its a 2 player game, so its hard to play solo. And i assume making the AI for being able to play against a bot is too complex to handle during a game jam.
Sure thing. Btw i also just submitted my game, would you mind giving me any feedback?

Hi there! Hope you are having a good jam!
I wanted to throw this here I think our main concern is whether the loop is fun to play?
