Passed the second level. I cannot currently get past the third. This is mostly because my wrists hurt.
Besides the fact I am sorely missing an engine at this point in time, the game is quite fun! The boing noise when you bonk against something is very silly, but it otherwise accurately simulates the harshness of manually turning or spinning things in the wilderness.
wow super cool geniunly enjoyed it
(SPOILER WARNING)
Story better than disco elysium (I cried when the boat's engine broke)
Screamers and horror elements are scarier than any fnaf or outlast game could ever do.
Music is nice (even cooler if it's ost but idk if it is). Every boing feels real and impactful.
Gameplay is hard (a bit too hard on later levels, but i guess it's okay for a demo), but the controls feel super nice and responsive, even though they are so unusual. (Although I must say that it gets a bit annoying when the cursor gets out of the small browser screen when spinning and loses control).
Sprites and art are good.
Overall, a great game!
Cool game! I love the idea of just pedalling the boat as a mechanic though I do find the pedal mechanic quite infuriating at times (this could def be a good rage game). I like the creativity of the take, the visuals are awesome, and the audio is quite silly and good! The game's also kinda silly in a serious way! Overall, great game but controls may need to be modified (unless u want to make it a rage game xD). Great work!
I adore this game omg. It's just so whimsical, I love the giant turtles and the goofy plot (giving me A+D controls then taking it away was so cruel but SO good). I had a ton of fun trying to alternate between left engine and right engine in order to move forward. Fantastic job making this game! Completed in 9:25, 618 boings.
nice art and really appreciated the guided gameplay !! my boat was very spinny
The art was nice; I wasn’t fond of the pedaling controls.
06:37, 316 boings! I seriously doubt I did it the fastest or with the least amount of boings haha
Cute game, clever idea with the spinning controlling a different side of the boat. Can be tricky to maneuver, but in a good way
Controls were hard to get used to at first, but once you figure it out it becomes fun to try to spin the perfect amount. In a weird way it’d be cool if you couldn’t brake after bumping into something, but it’d definitely make the game way harder.
I thought the game was really cool, the way you pilot it and the obstacles.
The gigantortoise... it's real!
Nice little entry! It took me a moment to get used to controls but once I figured out how to pilot my boat the game became a really fun obstacle course.
Keep up the good work!
beat it!
very tricky the first corner of the final stage but passed anyway. me personally always come up with game idea like this and drive people mad with tricky physics handlings 🤣 so I am very committed to beating this one and yes it's interesting!
Smart design choice, shifting from keys to cursor was a great idea. It added quite a lot of depth to the game. It's a pretty good game, I like it.
Ngl, when I started the game and had to run the engines spamming a and d, I wasnt a fan of the controls. Somehow though it got BETTER when the engines broke and having the player spin their cursor is an amazing design choice. No complaints about this game, good idea, good execution!
this was short and sweet, i appreciate games that took the spin to win in a different direction, and this definetly did.
I get why you introduced A and D at first, but first impressions are important and the mouse controls are so cool and goofy someone might not get to use them
The game could have been very rage inducing but you've managed to keep it goofy enough to avoid it, the boyoyoyoing sound effects worked really well
overall a pretty fun experience!
Loved it! A polished and fun experience, full of surprises. Quickly teaching me the A and D controls to instantly take them away, and giving me a purpose = repair the boat. A simple yet fascinating way to motivate the player. Fitting SERIOUS music and just a good vibe all around. The giant turtle at the end also gave me a laugh. Great job! (That's the strongest lilypad I've ever seen)
Enjoyed it in playtest, enjoyed it now! Good job with the improvements, it really makes it a nicer experience!
Awesome! I like the big turtle helping you backtrack, very clever!
I loved this game, accidentally launched my mouse across my desk trying to steer the boat. What an experience.
I love how the game gives you a mechanic and completely turns it on its head and gives you a real reason for why too!! A lovely simple story to add to the game! The large turtles just being scaled versions of the smaller ones did hurt the looks a bit for me but love the game itself! I managed a solid 199 boings! :)
This is pretty good! I like that the edges of the map just bounce you instead of outright killing you, i feel like that doesn't necessarily make it too easy but adds some forgiveness to the game.
