That was a spin, very fun game, I agree that the game can benefit from a better playing tutorial because the one provided was confusing to me at least and I was able to fully understand all mechanics in the game the hard way :D, but once figured out I enjoyed the game a lot, amazing work ♥
Thank you, you people are too kind! we are so happy hearing you had fun playing our game!
really fun once I got the hang of it and was hopping over the sharks and all. The tutorial is good but a lot of text, you might want to have some glyph hints ([Q], [W], and [E]) for the first few lily pads to smooth over a beginners new start. I liked the visuals they are cool! Creative with the spinner mechanic as well! Good Job!
Thank you for playing, so happy you had fun! For sure, the tutorial will actually become a tutorial and not just a png with 2 frames haha.
Nice game, but i was a bit confused.
Thank you for playing! Can you let us know what were you confused about? We love hearing everybody's feedback so we can see what were the most common issues, and improve/clarify/add etc. etc., when we will start the rework.
I the movement was a bit unclear to me. I didnt really know when the frog will jump on the platforms. Also Q,W,E was a bit confusing at the start, but i got used to it quickly. Maybe A, W, D would be easier to control. But even then, nice game!
great, thank you so much for the feedback!
I also struggled a lot with the controls. Fun game tho, good job!
Thank you for playing!
Very cute entry! For some reason I kept wanting to jump early to the lilypads (especially if I had just jumped over a crocodile), so my one bit of feedback would maybe be to have it speed up a little bit when you jump 'early' or 'far' to make the player not have to wait as long? That's really my only notable bit of feedback though, it was a lot of fun!
Yup, the game will become faster and people will be able to chain multiple jumps! Thank you for playing!
Very cute art style!! Reminds me of those library games I used to play haha, I think tweaking the controls a bit would help the gameplay for sure. But I had a fun time with this game, congrats on the release!
Omg thank you! I Just saw the name of your game and I need to check it out
It did take me a little while to get a hang of the controls, and a few times I messed up because of muscle memory (I expected q/w/e to be "move left"/"go straight"/"move right" from my current position instead of "move to left column"/"move to center column"/"move to right column). But once I got the hang of it, it started to feel natural. The song was catchy (love the talk-box effect!), and the art was cute. One thing I would suggest is a little sinking animation for the frog when it hits the water from mis-timing a jump, instead of floating on the surface like it does now. That, and I think it would be great for the "game over" screen to also show what my score was so that I can remember and compare against runs.
All-in-all, a nice cozy jam entry. I had fun with it. Nice work!
First of all, thank you your feedback and for playing! Funny you say that about the falling in the water animation. It was supposed to be added, then we thought it would be better if the mosquitos would just cover you. After a few iterations and bug fixing, we just forgot about that. Thought more people would point it out tho haha! This is our first game and we do plan on continuing working on this so stay tuned!
The art style is great, although I didn't quite understand the controls; it reminds me of Frogger.
Thank you for playing and for your feedback! Frogger, temple run/subway surfers and guitar hero are our inspiration for this game. This will be clearer when we'll come back and work on it!
very cute gameplay and graphics!! i didn't realize how to spin so i was just playing in a more straightforward way. around in the 50s i noticed that the audio cut out (probably when the track ended) so that might need to be looped. great work!!!!!!
Thank you for playing! We're very happy you enjoyed it. The spinning you just need to pay attention to the lily pad that's on top of the screen (basically the farthest). You need to match its color when you spin (stopping the wheel hoping you'll land on that color), so you can perform the long jump. Hope this helps!
charming game! did take me a bit to get the controls all dialed in, but once i got it all figured out i was able to get some good runs in! still a good challenge too, nice job :D
Thank you for trying it and for the feedback!
It's a really cure game, I LOVE the artstyle. I do not think the controls are that confusing as others are saying but I did have an issue with the timing, but thats my fault haha. And I love the frog, I hope he finds a way out of this.
Haha, thank you for playing! We hope so too, as we didn't think of an end to his story yet!
The mosquito audio gave me ptsd. My home is currently having the largest amounts of rainfall in recorded history, and the mosquito population is out for blood. The mosquito audio made me physically remove my headset to make sure I wasn't being swarmed. Other than that, great game.
Thank you for taking the time playing our game! We're sorry to hear you're going through this. They for sure need to be taught a lesson, and that's what we'll do in the rework. The sounds will also be different as they need to fit the silly theme. We wish you the best of luck, hang in there!
Very nostalgic reminded me of frogger! :) The explanation in the comments helped a lot I struggled without it! Maybe changing the jump speed depending on how far you're jumping would feel good, as long jumps took a very long time compared to short ones. Fun little game, good job! :)
Thank you for the feedback!! Yes, each jump should've hit better but we ran into some issues we didn't have time to fix.
Controls took a bit of getting used to, but nice concept and loved the intro, visuals, and music. Very cute game overall, well done.
Thank you for playing and for the feedback!
This took me a couple tries to figure out how to jump since I didn't know lily pads had to be highlighted. I also feel that when I super jump with the wheel, I lose all my distance since I need to wait for the next pad to highlight. I would have also liked if spinning was more of a part of the games core gameplay loop since I felt the wheel was a bit disconnected from the rest of the game and I often forgot to use it. This is a really nice first game though! Great job!
Thank you for giving our game a try and for the feedback! Yeah, with the mosquitos nerf, any player who moves fast between the lily pads, the wheel doesn't do much for them
Took me a minute to figure it out but eventually I did! pretty good overall and I love frogs!
Thank you! The red eyed tree frog looks so much like a main character, we had to!
Nice art, music fitting, om only bad at the game, good job!
Thank you for playing! I am sure you did better than you think, haha
Maybe it sme but it might help a little to see QWE on lilly pads as well to see what to press to jump on what coz sometimes I do press q and the lilly is highlighted as well play foggy goes whoppss in water. Overall great game
Thank you for taking the time to play our game and we're happy you enjoyed it!
Great game that is super well done, especially given the time constraint. The only downside is just the lack of the spin theme. I know it is there but it doesn't feel necessary ( tho maybe I just didn't get far enough in the game to need to use it). Either way, I would love to see this as a full game! Fantastic job!!!
Thank you so much for playing and for the kind words!
The art is really great, and I loved that the game has a story. It could have been fub to have a little "good ending" cutscene as well, though I know that would've been tough to do in just a week.
One small issue I encountered is that the music seems to be panned to the left during gameplay, though I'm not sure if that's intentional or just how the track was mixed.
Overall, nice job!
Thaank you for the kind words and for playing <3! Regarding the sound problem, that is new to us and we'll look into it. Thank you for letting us know!
