Super good entry. Like, really good! I really like the overall aesthetic and the gameplay. I love that you can choose a 6 iron as well for lobbing the ball. Very good!

I have played pool previously, so this feels really fun to play! It doesnt always need to be something really complex. This worked well and I enjoyed playing the game a lot!

It’s one of those ideas that makes you say “How did I not realize that before?”.  It’s a great combination and I never realized how similar the two games are. I love the different cues and the hills on the table :) I wish the ball bounced more off the sides and other balls and that the ball hit with the second cue transferred more force to the other balls.  But I know it’s hard to consider and implement so many things during a game jam. :D In the end, you made a great game! Congrats :)

Thanks Purritogames and that's a cool name btw! appreciate the feedback and yes it makes sense!

That was super fun. I'd play the heck out of this on mobile on a train. I especially thought the level select was clever.

Developer

Thanks Tyler, I'm glad you found it fun! I'm definitely going to work on mobile controls post-jam

Oh man do I suck at pool in real life and in game lmao. Regardless this was lovely, the quality of the controls and UI is amazing! I also really liked level 10 that was some good stuff without getting into spoilers. I did find that the physics felt a bit heavy to me at times like t was sometimes hard to move the balls but then again I'm also bad a pool lmao. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks Microphene for playing level 10! Yup definitely will be doing more tuning post-jam. Looking forward to trying out your game!

Nice mix of pool and golf together. Control felt intuitive, art and sfx was good. I think you did a good job here!

Developer

thanks LambdaOS, wow your game header image is nice! looking forward to trying it out!

What a cute game!!! I love the aesthetic and also loved the concept of count down with hitting the different balls. nice job overall

Developer

Thanks so much Jadeyn!

i LOVE that the menu is a level itself! surprisingly hard game too, the undo button is really appreciated haha. i understand the hills are a core mechanic but honestly all it does for me is make the game more frustrating (the implementation is amazing though it feels perfect even if it messes me up haha). slick visuals too, really not too much to critique, great jam game

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing tatooo! Haha oh dear, ok yes sounds like a level design issue, will look at it in the future!

This game is very charming  the hills are a bit confusing but i like the concept and this game has the most creative level selects i have ever seen good job

Developer

Thanks Zer0 for the feedback! I'll be looking at explaining the hills better in future.

The visual cues showing how the hills affect the ball's trajectory aren't clear enough, which made the gameplay pretty confusing to follow. Sorry to say, but I couldn't really enjoy this one.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and leaving feedback about_blank. Will think about how to calculate the predicted physics ball trajectory across the hill slope, might need to roll the ball first to determine the max height of the arc.

Interesting interpretation of the theme and fun quasi-puzzle game. Only thing is it was hard to tell how hard the cue ball was going to hit the others.

Developer

Thanks for playing and the feedback Rengarg!

I really like how all the menus were operated using the ball, I actually did a shockingly similar thing in my golf game. Level design was also really interesting, I never knew pool/golf could be this complex.

Developer

oh man yess, that's cool you managed to find me, I wasn't sure (although I hadn't been actively looking) to see if there were any other golf games out there - thanks for the feedback. very excited to give yours a try, will write the rest on your page!

Submitted

I've found 7 in this jam including my own by searching for new and popular games tagged golf. Don't tell anyone, but you were probably my favorite!

(1 edit)

Really polished game with a super satisfying feel. The combination of pool, golf, and puzzles works surprisingly well, and I liked how much planning the later levels required. My only bit of feedback is that the hills could be communicated more clearly visually—I didn't immediately realize which parts of the table were sloped. Maybe a consistent gradient/shading  would make them easier to read at a glance. Great work overall!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback Mindinity, yes, I'll be definitely working on that along with the cue power indication/mouse sensitivity post-jam!

Really creative idea! The levels felt really fun to play, and I like that the level selection is done using the game mechanics. Would love it if the velocity indicator changed based on how hard you were going to hit the ball, might make it a little easier to aim I think. Overall great work!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you Frankie! Had a lot of fun playing your game too!

This is so cute! I have NEVER seen mini golf and pool together, and I LOVE it. I was a bit confused by the "hill" for my first game, and was confused why my momentum would slow, but figured it out pretty quickly after the 3rd or 4th time; tbh I thought it was just a light shining down on the table. I really enjoyed the sound design and the "click!" of the balls.

Developer

Thanks hacceuee for playing, haha yeah good point about the light shining on the table! I tried to warp the checkerboard pattern based on the hill height but didn't have much success and was running out of time, so will make it more obvious in the next update. cheers!

The addition of an undo button was very appreciated :) super fun, great execution!

Developer(+1)

Thanks spooncats, the perfectionist in me has always wished undo existed in both irl golf and particularly pool games too :D

Very very polished game ! The physics's great, and it always react like you think it should react

The time between each action is too longue I think, with this little pause, than the -1, than you can play again. It cut down the rythm of each level for me

But great work overall!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words and feedback - yes I agree, after the game jam I'll spend a bit more time tuning the ball stop speed threshold so that it's a bit snappier and can let the player plan their next action quicker!

I love games that incorporate their mechanics into the menuing, very cool idea! The hill mechanic took me by surprise at how well it imitated an actual incline, amazing work! Very enjoyable pool-puzzle game :)

Developer

Thanks fake_dante, your game has a really interesting design with the tiles, looking forward to read through the tutorial and give it a play!

The level selection is such a unique feature 👍 and the gameplay is so clean!

Developer(+1)

Thanks SimpliTail, oo cool I saw your game in the GTMK GJ discord! It's already on my list of games to play :)
