The art is fantastic. I do like the mechanic of switch between rooms and finding items, though I wish I can hold multiple at a time. Also, might be bugs, but I don't hear any music, and when I click on a book but don't accept and click off, the book just disappears forever, but doesn't do the same for the candy. Still, a cute and charming game.

Thanks for playing! Indeed we had many issues with Fmod x Unity, resulting in no sound in the game... while a team member was dedicated to it. Very sad :(

One of the cutest-art-entry game I have seen. I love their monocle reading glass(es?) haha

Submitted(+1)

The art style is awesome with good cosy vibes. Love the theme too!

Incredible artwork! Loved the mood, the rooms full of things to find reminds me of the Where's Waldo and those kind of wonderful and fun book I used to dig as a kid ✨

Poor cyclop girl will need a visit to the dentist before the library tho... I... may have abused the infinite candy in the bedroom, a bit 😂

Congrats on finishing the game, even if it was with too much sugarboost ahah

Very nice art style, music/sound could've boosted the atmosphere even more. Love the idea around books.

Submitted(+2)

The atmosphere is <3

It's just so cute!

This game is a visual representation of me trying to finish my tbr stack during break. Amazing art style and a book worm's dream <3

The art in this game is very impressive! I particularly like your linework and color choices. The story of the game reminds me of how far behind I am in my book club haha. The game play was a little simplistic, and I found myself clicking around randomly sometimes (particularly at the beginning). I think if you were to expand on this game further, it'd be worth thinking about how to prevent the player from doing that (maybe some elements in the scene are breakables that you'll get in trouble for messing with?). When I was actually searching for the books, it was pretty fun and reminded me of doing highlights puzzles when I was younger (except I think the art here is better 😄).

Will relay this message to our artists, they did a wonderful job for sure!
That's a great idea, we don't know yet if we'll keep it going, but if we do, we'll keep that in mind!

Developer

Hello, thanks for your feedback. I like this idea of breakable stuff, it goes nicely with our little messy monster lore!

Very beautifully drawn,
too bad there's no sound.

You guys are obviously talented.
Good luck with the jam!

I didn’t know that cyclops were fast readers. The gameplay is a bit simple but the art is cute and well detailed. It’s also a bit sad that the music didn’t make it in the build.

Submitted(+1)

I wish I could read as fast as the kiddo ! The art is really beautiful and the gameplay is simple but works really well ! I just had some books disappearing because I double clicked, and others being almost out of the screen because of the responsive issue even in full screen :(

Submitted(+2)

The artstyle is so cute and effective! Had a fun time playing through it.

Submitted(+2)

Really cute and fun game. The art is absolutely incredible ! I'd play a whole several hours-game with it ! I like the concept of frantically finding stuff. I'd well like to see it polished and developped. Amazing work people (And sorry about the sound, I'm sure it must have been really cool)

Submitted(+2)

Cute game, we had a similar idea :D Girl should be in Harvard with such quick reading skills )

Developer(+1)

Thx!
I think she's gunning for Monstervard actually :p

Submitted(+2)

Simple yet a very fun concept to do!

But as someone who is frantically clicking everywhere, it doesn’t help that there’s a bug where the book you select vanishes away when accidentally clicking off the book’s pop-up and closing it, making the goal of reading all the pages impossible to complete.

It’s such a shame that the sound didn’t make it. Must’ve been devastating to your sound guy..

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for your comment. Yes, we are really upset because his music were awesome :(

Developer(+1)

Thank you!
Yeah I'm so sad about both issues, a simple bug to fix which slipped in at the end and we didn't think of testing before submitting, and FMOD not working the way it usually does :/
I hope we'll still manage to get the music and sound out there in some form

Submitted

Consider updating the game post jam to have it at least!

Submitted(+2)

Simple, yet with very fun narrative and I really enjoyed just looking at all this beautiful artwork.

Submitted(+3)

Amazing game ! I love it !

Submitted(+2)

What a wonderfull game bien jouer !

Developer

Merci !

A beautiful game! I love the art. It took me two playthroughs to understand the goal. I think I encountered a bug where the books disappeared, and I didn't have any music or sound.

That was cool!! Very nice drawings :)
