How does your game fit the theme?
Our game fits the theme in 2 ways. You play as a cowboy trying to make it home through the desert before nightfall. There is a literal countdown that you need to beat otherwise you lose. The game is also a deck building game where you fill your revolver with different kinds of bullets. You must count down through your chambers as you shoot to form powerful combos.

Super fun twist on the idea, the SFX are so good and make everything feel really punchy. I had a great time messing around with the bullet combos. Great job! (pls play my game)

I really love the idea with loading the cylinder with special effects!! I'd love to see an in depth version in the future!!

Bloody snakes. I would love to play a full release of this, I think it's great in spite of the jam theme. I would much rather play it without the countdown.

Cool game and really like the chambers concept but found out since its such a short reload time you can just spam shoot

I like the double use of the theme, but I find the reload time to be so short that spamming works well, and sometimes better than combos. Although the combos are very fun and creative as well!

The idea is cool but it's the execution that does it for me ! Just make it a tiny bit easier i think. But well done on everything (especially the sounds) !

Awesome game! I always enjoy a deckbuilding-like game that lets me create crazy combos! The arststyle is really good too

Sweet concept. I enjoyed working out the best sequencing for the bullets for maximum carnage >:)

A few classic ideas mixed in together to perfection with a countdown inspiration. I really like this.

Wonderful game, I really enjoyed it! Being able to swap your bullets around and figure out combos was a nice touch and the sound effects were really satisfying.

Guys, you've got a genuinely original roguelike concept that really works. It's a good idea to develop further, it would require a lot of game design work, but the core idea is definitely there. Well done! The world and the gameplay remind me a lot of Nuclear Throne :p Good job !

Great game, I'd think that making your revolver bullets the actual countdown would be a great addition, nice work !!!

Gotta say I'm very impressed and had a lot of fun, when I realised the systematic approach of your combat a lightbulb flashed in my brain. I love the concept of making a wild build around which bullets I chamber when.
I also really enjoyed the little sound effects, they tickled me!

Wow – that had an incredible amount of juice and polish. Really nice submission. Loved all the feelings of shooting and the sounds and all the actual tuning of the core loop was super clutch. It’s a genre I’m already a sucker for (top down shooter roguelikes) but I think the way you handled it was a master class in juice and control and making a good game. I’ll definitely be takin’ some notes.

I did have a few gripes, but they’re pretty nitpicky. The visibility of the rattlesnake was really difficult to see until the orange maps which was really annoying since it looked just like the weed decorations. It may have been thematic, but felt frustrating. I also thought the movement around crates could’ve been tuned and smoothed a bit, it felt like I was getting caught on a lot of corners – and speaking of crates, there probably could’ve been a few less of them since it felt like half the game was about navigating around crates instead of all the fun shooting I wanted to be doing.

Leaving these honest few points of critique because I genuinely want you to take this further and I think these things would really help improve it a lot.

But that said, it might be my favorite of the jam – and definitely was in terms of pure game feel and moment to moment control and enjoyment. The bullet as a pick 3 was also super fun and I’d be interested to see something like combining or forging bullets together if you took it further – the vortex plus the bomb would’ve been kinda crazy paired together. :-)

Cool.

I especially like the idea of making ammo combos.

The graphics are nice, but some elements are too similar.
