Wonderful! I love how central the countdown was and it was another resource to manage. I loved, too, how the way to refill on actions was to take events that had tons of negative consequences. There were a ton of cards and a lot of different strategies. I stacked up on passives on 0 cost projects and escaped the planet with 140 years to spare. Really great work!
Awesome game! The amount of cards here is insane! And it was really fun when you could stack certain effects and it was super satisfying when a strategy that I picked paid off! I increased my hand size a bunch, then got cards which increased the probability of legendary cards appearing, and then used the card which let's you fill your hand up with random cards! It was really fun seeing my gamble pay off, and although I only had 65 years to spare, I managed to save humanity.
Your artwork was fine, don't worry! You'll get better at it as you go! And for one person this game was exceptionally well-made and fun.
One thing I would add is a counter for how many passive cards you have, because often times I looked at a card that said "plus X from passives" when I didn't even know how many passives I had, or if some projects were passive or active only for one round etc. Made it a bit more difficult to make a strategy. Also, a bit more feedback when getting resources or time would be appreciated, maybe some particles flying to the circles so I know that it increased instead of the number instantly changing (a little bonus you get with this is the visual feedback of your decision).
Overall, great jam entry!
the tension created from the countdown was perfect and a great use of the theme! amazing work
The background sounds are really well-placed, and the visuals create a lovely atmosphere. Mechanically, it's somewhat similar to card games. The game feels both cool and sweet in a way; I liked it, great game.
Nice work on the card variety and depth, clearly a lot of effort put into that. First attempt I didnt have a clue, but managed to get a run that ended at 190 years.
This was super fun, I enjoyed all aspects of it a lot. It's a very refreshing entry to the jam.
While the visuals are basic, they work really well and I think the game looks great. The audio was good and fit the vibe as well. Both made for a pretty cool atmosphere.
I also liked the intro, got me hooked right away.
Managed to win with 310 years to spare doing a 0 project cost build with increased rarities.
Will probably play more of this later.
I think the biggest flaw is that it takes a bit of effort to figure out how to play it, but its well worth it.
I also had little reason to ever use the normal cards over investing in projects, but that might have been due to the build I went for.
Congrats on managing to finish such complex game and on executing it this well!
Damn, nice score!
Some cards buff the base cards, but admittedly they could probably do with some slight buffs by default. For now, just consider them an emergency fallback option if needed at the end of a game if you are not specifically buffing them.
Thank you so much for your kind words, and thanks for playing!
Really clever and fun take on the theme, executed fantastically. I did one run where I scraped by with 130 years remaining (thank you Asteroid Mining and the Generation Ships) and even with that I could tell there's a ton of replayability and build variety.
The presentation, while simple, was also super effective. I love how your time left is shown by the big title in the center of the game and the way the earth spins faster around the sun when you take an event that makes you lose time.
Overall a truly incredible hidden gem of a game, great work!
Thank you so much for the kind words :D
great game and great concept!
Fun concept! Fits the theme perfectly! The decisions always made me think which one is more worth it! good job!!
Really cool concept! Theme was spot on.
That was quite a fun game, makes you really think about the ramifications of each of the decisions that you're going to make.
Genuinely a really fun entry!
Simple graphics, but how they have been put together looks really good, and gives it a lot of flair. I love the names of all the different bits, and the little comedic touches.
Love to see the sun getting scarier as you get close to the deadline (wonder who gave you that idea :p)
That was really fun! I love anything that makes me think strategically in the face of randomness. ^..^
Fun game! Loved the vibe!
It was a bit unintuitive of what cards are and what they do.
Took me a bit to realize the cards in the bottom left were project cards.
The normal actions seem a bit weak.
And some projects are really strong. Generational ships singlehandedly get you all the science!
I really liked the art and the lore you got with the events. Robot war, dictatorship etc...
And the effect with the sun moving around and getting redder was super cool (and it moving backwords with the time travel project.)
Nice job! [>]w[O]
Thanks for playing!
And... yeah, in hindsight, Generational Ships are probably a tad too strong, especially if you get them early 😅
Great concept and charming visuals. And have some depth in therms of game mechanics.
Very cool concept. Though the graphics are simple, they are really effective both on the gameplay and narrative sides!
Damn, this is a very creative approach to the theme. I didn't think someone would make a strategy game. It's fairly complex considering the game jam time. Overall really cool game.
