Having to aware of multiple count downs and the rhythm itself was difficult but fun! Targeting system added depth to the game

About input, it was not easy to find the right timing to press the key. I think inputs should've been more reactive and clear? I know it's very unlikely that we can remove input delay completely, but if the every inputs make clear reaction sfx in earliest possible timing, player can adapt to that, making it easy to match that to the beat. And this is more of a preference, but I think it should be the attack sfx that match the beat, not the actual input timing.

Also, the character is very cute!!

I like the idea and would have probably enjoyed it if I were better at the game. Having to be exact was really a pain to deal with.

Love the idea! My project had a very similar take on the theme. I don't think being strict with the timing is working for you though. I found it very frustrating trying to be strategic with my attacks only to fail anyway because my input was milliseconds too late. I think it could be polished into something cool, though.

the control scheme is very obtuse, I recommend in the future allowing customizable keybinds

I love the artstyle and the concept is interesting, but the game is just too difficult for me.

The controls sound simple but for some reason it doesn’t flow right. Witch is a shame because I really think this game has potential, if you polish the gameplay a bit I think you can really make a great game out of this!

I like the idea. However I think the game could be a bit more forgiving? And maybe with an easier difficulty curve. Like have an easier tutorial and then ramp it up when the player is used to the mechanics. (and introduce the mechanics one by one instead of loading them all in the intro tutorial)

btw what I mean by more forgiving is like... maybe doing actions off beat still  goes through but does a lot less damage. Similar to how a rhythm game rewards more points for "Perfect" notes.

Sometimes it can feel like you're on beat but you're not. (maybe do something similar to coyote time from platformers?)

Again, awesome idea that can definitely be successful if you keep iterating on it.

cool, but hard

very clever concept and great result! love the art and mechanics. only complaint is that the slightly offbeat sounds for actions kinda trip up the rhythm for me :(

Very cool looking game! I really like the rhythm-based combat mechanic. However I struggle to press the button on time to attack, but that's probably a skill issue (even though I also made a rhythm game lol)

Good job!

The look of this is fantastic and I love the concept. Could be incredibly fun but the timing feels just slightly too tight for my abilities! I'd love to see this one developed further.

Interesting game, it was a bit too hard for me, the timing on the beat seems a bit tight.

Nice idea tying the enemy countdowns to the beat, and the art looks great. I did struggle to hit the timing at first, and a volume slider would help as it's a bit loud out of the gate. Good start though!

Check out my game if you get a chance, a chess roguelike called Final Gambit: /jam/gmtk-jam-2026/rate/4813276

I like it ! art and character looks cool, Although I'm slow on the reactions can't press the attack in time , might need to spend a bit more time get used to it.

I think it could use a bit of polish in the future. and a volume slider. it's loud and hurts my ears.
