I'm not gonna lie, while I wish there was more graphical polish especially on the input feedback side of things, the music and sound design are unbelievably good and the combination of both has been stuck in my head since I played it last night. Really goes to show the crazy power of having catchy music and sound effects. I'd love a slightly graphically polished post-jam release and maybe inputs made a bit more lenient, so I can actually go back to it after the jam if the earworm refuses to leave by then 😂

I do certainly intend to fix some issues post jam, including the addition of feedback at any point and not just at the correct timing!
Stay tuned and thanj you so much for playing!

Such a vibe!

It feels like something a protagonist of a horror movie would find in an abandoned cartridge. I also like the visual of the character and the menu. It’s all simple but sweet.

Would love to see it more flashed out post-jam!

Was draw in by the artstyle and liked the aesthetic. Like other feedback, a shame that there is no feedback on hit.

I might be getting what you mean a bit wrong but there is only feedback when you get the timing right, the issue all people have is that they usually don't notice that because there's no feedback until that happens, but yeah, that's a totally fair point.

I definitely will polish more things about the game as soon as I'm allowed to edit it, thanks for playing!

I really liked the vibe of this game! As someone who made a rhythm game myself for this jam, its hard to get the input synced to the beat, but you nailed it! If you had more time, the one small thing that I would add is some more feedback on successful inputs, so that you can really feel it when you are doing well. The art style was also gorgeous. Congrats!

Well thank you! I might check out your game a bit later.

The way I did it was by transforming seconds into beats, so whenever I said "put an attack at second 8" it would automatically snap to the exact timing the beat started rather than actually at second 8.

Yeah, I agree with you, I accidentally left in the sound effect of being hit the same as of blocking the attack, which is probably the biggest mistake I made; other than that, I'm also really happy with the way it came out.

Thanks for playing!

This is actually really good! Love the song that play while fighting NO_SIGNAL, it’s catchy and still playing in my head after a few minutes of beating it TvT, playing it blind actually got me from a bad to a meh score which is pretty cool <3 had fun and really enjoyed it!

Thanks for playing!

I'm glad you enjoyed the music! It was originally intended for another game a year ago but the musician wasn't available so I simply used it for this game instead haha

If you think this is catchy, you should listen to the kind of stuff he's been making nowadays; unfortunately, he only provided me with his email as contact but he's a pretty friendly guy, I'm sure he'd show you his work if you write him an email hahaha

I just saw his email on the desc T~T I might look him up LMAO TvT

A beautiful and well-rounded game in every aspect—you did an amazing job. I wish you the best of luck. Could you try out my game?

Thank you for playing!

Of course, I will in a bit:)

Cool game! The art style is really nice and the idea pretty interesting .  Also making the noun for this game 'slop' was really funny.

Love the aesthetic, art, music, and the static effects.  Same kind of feedback as others otherwise: I had trouble knowing when I should press the button, or if it was successful.

The other thing was I had to reset with R once before the game worked correctly.  The first time it loaded there was no music and it ended immediately.

Yeah I can't believe I forgot to change the audio cues and getting hit sounds the same as blocking, I guess it was very late and I was tired and didn't notice. But yeah, other than that I'd say that this game is greatly intended to be played with your eyes closed since the visuals can be misdirecting sometimes.

Huh that's odd
I wouldn't have any clue why'd that'd happen.
It happened to me once but it was because I reset the game right as I tripped an invisible trigger and so it restarted weird, but it never happened to me on the first opening of the game.
I'll look into that. Thanks for playing!

Really nice! I love the way that attacks initially feel really impossible and unforgiving but if you stick it out a bit, you can learn it once you get a feel for the song. I played a while and feel very competent at it now, what a good sign of a game. Because unlimited health it felt like like play-fighting a prankster, rather than losing at a frustrating game. I also feel you about not having time for adding Late/Early indicators! We had the same issue in ours. Please play and rate our game if you can!

Developer(+1)

Oh yeah I did consider making him able to kill you, but I thought maybe I should go more for the Rhythm Heaven route and let you get a bad grade instead of straight up just losing mid song.
I'll definitely check your game out as soon as I have some time! Thanks for playing!

Amazing game visually and great audio design (also love  the overall aesthetic)!! I couldn't tell if I was hitting the beats on time but other than that a great submission!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Red means you missed and yellow means you hit it!
I didn't get to add "too early" and "too late" feedback oops.

OHHH makes sense, ill play it again now with this in mind!! Probably still one of my favourite looking games so far in the game :D

Developer

Thank you! Really hoping you enjoy it more and you are able to get a good grading
