How does your game fit the theme?
Whole game run is a deck of cards, both enemies and items. Using those cards reduces available resources. Items themselves lose durability with each use.

Cool take on the theme. The game overall is really polished and fun. I had to stop myself from playing so i could rate more jam games.

fun gameplay! i think this game does what it tries to do well! i don't see much of the theme and do think there is something missing in terms of a unique concept (which gives you loads of options to expand the game if you so wish) or interesting items/enemies mechanically, but within the scope of a jam game i think this is a fun and very nicely presented experience

It's a really nice take on the Scoundrel dungeon crawler format, and I'm happy to see someone pursued that idea! Really polished and plays nicely (though I did get a key and then an exit within about 3 turns haha) - great work!

The game isn't really related to the jam theme, but it's actually quite good in its own right.

I'm a big fan of card roguelikes.

The visuals are decent and suit the genre.

The sounds feel instantly familiar.

The game has potential.

Developer

Thanks for feedback. I tried to do something different than counters and timers. Whole deck is constantly depleting instead of traditional deck building. Im glad you liked the concept anyway. I might polish it up later

Turning the entire dungeon into a deck of cards is such a clever idea! Managing items, enemies, and when to run made every turn fun and strategic.

awesome! super enjoyed the game, tried so many times to see all items, tried to kill the dragon, ...super entry to the jam!

Nice game!

I had a run where I the key and the door appeared at the same time very early on which can damage the experience. Also the ankh object was kinda OP for me on a second run. I think it could use a balancing pass, but I had a great time playing through it a couple of times!

Also the VFX and visuals in general were 🔥

Developer (1 edit)

Did you use experimental options by any chance? Normally key and door are supposed to be separated 🤔. As for the ankh i completely agree. I was just experimenting with different mechanics, and for the jam its kinda better to leave things overpowered than underpowered. Im thinking of making a patch with some items and balancing later after the jam

Submitted(+1)

Key was the last item I got in a round then when it reshuffled I got the door :)

Developer(+1)

Weird, they should be separated by half deck size. Im gonna go look into it. Thanks for noticing

Fun idea and cool visuals. I personally think it looks better without the CRT filter, but I like the option to toggle based on preference.

Developer

Thank you! I know some people dont like the crt so i feel like toggle is a must

Submitted(+1)

Incredibly fun and the CRT effect makes it look beautiful! Definitely one of my favorites in this jam so far.

Developer

Thank you! That means a lot

this was really fun, the art and overall vibe was excellent, i could feel myself getting addicted

Developer

Thats great to hear, im considering updating the game later

Really polished game, loved it!

Nice gameplay loop. I like the card dissolve and that you can decide what to attack and therefore what damage you receive. A progression between runs would be cool.

Developer

Thank you! Im proud of that shader. As for progression i have few ideas in mind

Submitted(+1)

Very strong game feel here! Especially love the card dissolving shader animation. The music and sounds are rather ominous, too.

Seeing the demon lord with 999 health was terrifying haha.

Developer

Thank you! I tried my best with the vibe

Excellent job, gorgeous sound and visuals.

Man awesome game, I like the interpretation of the theme in various elements of the game!

Developer

Thank you for noticing! I tried to squezee this theme in as much places as i could. Glad you like the game

I loved the game, really kept me engaged and going. I had a bit of a learning curve since i prolly didnt read the instructions lmao. But i really loved the visuals, the sound effects and the overall game feel. Felt really polished and balanced. Well done overall!

I would love your feedback on my game  :)

Developer

Yeah the tutorial could use some love. Im really glad you liked the game!

Very nice visuals!!! especially the effects!

The gameplay is also extremely smooth and easy to learn!

Only problem I had is that reading the card's descriptions can be quite hard because of all the beautiful visual effects.

I think the fact that the game is so short is perfect for a game jam. I don't often get to beat a game in like 3-5 minutes, but yours I was able to. And it feels rewarding. As others said, very nice art and SFX.

Developer

Thank you! Its realy rewarding when things you planned out are noticed

Submitted

That CRT filter gives it an amazing effect. I only wish the game was a little longer because I was hooked.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! If you are interested, when starting new game, there is experimental button, showing all the game parameters. Its messy but you can change deck size
