Incredible game! Felt really frantic, the artstyle and music worked super well too.

My only gripe is that it would have been nice to have some visual indicator for the gun and dash cooldown. It wasn't that big of an issue though, all things considered.

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you liked it, and I do wish we could have added text for cool downs. Maybe in full release if we ever do a full release

Submitted

Not sure if text would be the best option actually. I really like the game's aesthetic, and more text might disrupt that and make things too cluttered.

I'd recommend you try other visual ques, like changing the game's border colour to indicate that the dash is recharging.

never knew i needed a 2d superhot-like until now. good job! first few levels definitely feel a lil slow though, it really starts going after the upgrade, id cut down on the first few rounds or something if you were to make a full version (which you should). slick presentation love the distortion with the bullet time slow down effect and minimalistic graphics

Submitted(+1)

Great game with great ideas, it was funny ! (even if I can't stop moving because to distorsion effect give be a kind of motion sickness)

Developer

glad you enjoyed it! i should probably add a setting to reduce the effects a little post-jam

This was really fun! It was really creative to use the time as money and health. My one complaint is that it is a bit easy, I wish the enemies took away a bit more time. Also it seems as if the shops stop appearing after round four or so? I think it has a lot of potential for more upgrades and enemies. I really like when there's tons of bullets on screen(like the screenshot) and I get to analyze how I'll dodge.

Developer

yea the shops actually stop appearing after shop 2 bc i wanted the player to only have 2/3 of the packs and timepieces per run, looking back, i feel like there were better ways of tackling that problem.

The enemies are pretty badly balanced actually, with turrets (octagon) being the hardest one without question, and the other ones are annoying at worst. The way to get a high score here would be to pray you don’t get any turrets (which is a boring meta)

Also, my highscore 😭

very fun it's like superhot but 2D

The music absolutely slaps! The bullet time when you stop moving is dope and spending time to buy powerups is an awesome touch! Fantastic work!

Cool concept! I really like the visuals and the bullet time VFX, it looks amazing :)

I do feel like I didn't use the timestop mechanic that much, though, but I guess it also depends on how enemies are balanced and that's so hard to do for a game jam ^^

Nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing! I wish we could make the timestop machanic do more but we didnt really have time for that

"The number you dialed is : 930" 🔥

I wish the game was more difficult! I go up to round 5-5 with an horrible machinegun build (the bullet spread was HORRIBLE with it) but i still had a ton of fun shooting and dodging enemies with the timestop mechanic!

- I feel like that timestop mechanic would/could really shine if the amount of enemies/the overall difficulty was higher, it'd force the player to actually think about how to get through walls of enemy bullets ^v^

Right now, the game is entirely playable without using any of those time stopping mechanics, so it feels kind of gimmicky -w- (though it's still a super cool idea! Superhot's done it perfectly well for example)

- I also hadn't realised you could bash the enemies into the walls until i looked through the comments, it's a really fun addition to the game for sure ^v^

The soundtrack is absolutely great, though the 930 sample is a tiny bit overused to be completely honest :>

I loved it! Great work on that game ^v^

Developer(+1)

im glad you enjoyed it! as for the difficulty idk man i think you're just built different (ill probably add a few difficulty settings though, makes it more accessible)
also numberdial dialed in a bit too hard on the sample (in fact, it appears in every song in the game)

That shopkeeper, what a funny guy! I really liked the tense gameplay but i'm not too sure about the timestop. I didn't use it much. Congratz!

Developer

Shopkeeper is just a funny little guy

Nice game! Feels well polished and I love the distortion when time slows. Also the OST slaps, I'll be listening to it outside the game ;)

Developer(+1)

tysm!! its my first real soundtrack, glad you enjoyed it :)

Developer

Really fun, but i had a problem because when dashing into a wall i got out of the main box like 2 times and had to restart :(

Developer

uh oh

the cube enemy + shift to slow down time + dash + shotgun = epic gaming

The lens distortion effect is cool! I wish there was a way to see how much HP the enemies had left.

Submitted(+1)

Really enjoyed the aesthetics and gameplay. Very stylised. Only trouble was when not full-screen you can't see the timer

Submitted(+1)

It's engaging. I like the simple aesthetics. Definitely something that could be expanded into a full release :)

Submitted(+1)

I'm really liking the presentation of this one! Simple, yet very effective.

Once I figured out you could bash enemies into walls it became my favourite thing to do. The Super-Hot style of movement is also always fun, stopping and starting to strategize is very enjoyable (even if I'm evidently bad at it)

The music was really good, but I won't lie, hearing that the number wasnt in service so many times did get a bit repetitive.

I think I would like some kind of visual indication that my attacks are ready, since they seem to have a bit of a cooldown on them, but besides that this game was a lot of fun! Great job!

Submitted(+1)

Hella fun! Pushing this to a bigger release would be so cool, something like hotline miami but with the time stop / slow down mechanic :D. Also, love the time stop shader.
