Really satisfying and addictive and also really polished, visually, audibly and gameplay-wise.

It's a polished experience and interesting to see some pop the lock. Even though there were lots of bosses, only the reaper, ghost and the eye really changed things significantly. A few more interesting modifiers would go far!

All my time in dead by daylight pays off

I like the visual, and the gameplay feel really good. This is honestly one of the smoothest ones I've played so far. Did you do any polish on the collision detection side, or something like that? I'm looking for some methods to optimize the gameplay in my own game.

Developer

Yes! The dial actually extends by 20% of itself on each side further than the visual. I refer to this as the grace period for user error. I also do math when the targets randomized to ensure that a target is always a certain distance away from the dial depending on the dial speed (the dial speeds up for different bosses as well as globally as your score increases)

I’m glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for playing!

Very nice looking game with very satisfying mechanic. Although I think it might get old after a while. Perhaps there are ways to expand on it though. Really enjoyed it though for the short time I played it :)

really good but maybe too small

Very polished game with screen shake, particles, and a lot of game feel. I do like the different the different ways to do the hit space bar just presented in different ways and it feels different to.

Really polished visuals and the music was a good choice to compliment it. Definitely a good brain-off fast twitch game (complimentary), it looks and plays great. Well done!

Great game! The different types of challenges, the arcade style fast gameplay, the incredible polish, everything is so on point. Having bosses with some slight personality feels very Balatro-y. Overall really good. The music could be made to match a bit more what's happening

Back to play again! Love it!

got 142 playing by scrolling with the mouse wheel. I tried to play by scrolling on the trackpad but I need like atom-perfect dexterity to avoid doing 2 inputs at once. really cool game, I wish I had more fancy controllers to play this on

Developer(+1)

Thank you! That's an interesting control method. I guess any button is any button! I also made it so the game works on mobile devices in portrait mode, if you are interested in playing that way. It isn't exact to the desktop experience but necessary for me to get my daughter from trying to hog my computer to play XD

Thanks for playing!

Pretty cool game, once you hit the flow it really goes, the soundtrack and sound effects do wonder as well. Would be nice to have the bosses tied to specific challenges if you can (or is there already? I can’t really tell).

Developer(+1)

Thank you! That was the original idea behind the bosses! Originally, we had a turtle as the first boss. The turtle could slow time at will, causing you to press too early by accident. Unfortunately, we were not able to do this in time for the end of the jam, so the bosses are mostly just stats changes. But that would definitely be the way to take this in the future if we revisit it!

Thanks for playing!

I was blocked from commenting yesterday but came back because this game is great!
I really love how there's not only the circles and I just find it awesome!

Pretty good! A bit lacking in the sound department, though considering my reaction times are still solid, this was a good time.

My go-to DBD warm-up from now on :P Jokes aside this is a really cool and addictive game. I loved the concept, and I think the gameplay could be even more engaging if it were a bit more rhythmic or synced with the music, still  it’s already a lot of fun as it is. You guys absolutely nailed the game feel

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! Thanks for playing!

We thought of rhythm based while playtesting. We couldn't really make it make sense without making it too easy. I think if I hadn't designed the game around a single button for control, this would definitely be the way to take this game!

I would have like the gameplay to be synced with the music (and more than one life because I suck ^^) but the fact that there are many different mini-games is very cool, good job!

Developer

I really wanted to do this but then the whole dynamic of the game changed. I have the targets on varying intervals even at the same speed. This would change the game to be more beat/note/rhythm based rather than a quick time event. I noticed it made it a lot easier to just hit one button at set intervals than having it be more of a skill check. I guess my limitation is the one button to play means I couldn't do the rhythm game. Thanks for your feedback!

Looks like somebody got inspired by Death Spiral from the recent Juniper Jam, and then added a bunch of new cool similar mechanics to it.

My reaction times are that of an old man, so I suck at games like this, but I was still really impressed with the presentation and amount of juice and feedback. Using the core mechanic to even select in the menu is such a great and creative little detail.

Developer

I definitely was inspired by that! I wanted to compete in that jam but didn't have time. I saw the video by Juniper right before this jam so it was stuck in my head! Thanks for playing and your feedback!

Definitely a dopamine hit - a fun and sleek game! My only note is that it was odd to hear some of the background music with singing while trying to defeat some of the bosses.  Overall good fun!

Developer

Thanks! I had a hard time finding music I liked for this. Overall, I just wanted to match the tempo of the faster paced gameplay.
